What is The Best Cheap Corvette? 

As someone that’s never driven a Corvette or even sat in one, I want a C5.

c5 corvette is such a great car. Literally everything you could want in a daily driven sports car. Space, gas mileage, reliability, price, and not to forget fun

I would save a little more and go for the facelift c6. You get the ls3 and the tremec👌🏻 especially if you upgrade later on the tremec will handle everything you throw at it.

C5 is so damn cool

The most bang for your buck will always be the best Corvette you can afford. I've had my C4 for 3 years now and I don't plan on ever getting rid of it.

C5 Z06 with heads/cam, longtubes and lowered on stock bolts please! If not, at least a 99/00 C5 FRC because it looks way better than the hatch.

Adjustable ride settings were available even earlier on Japanese sports cars like the 94 3k-Gt. Felt the difference too.

C5 ! My 1999 FRC is the best bang for the buck. 💯 bone stock, just turned 20k miles. Paid more than 14k but it’s a rare classic with just over 4,000 made in 1999 the first year of the FRC, the predecessor to the 2001-04 Z06

You gotta remember the 4th gen went to 1996, I have a 95 and paid 7500 for it out of the auction and it’s just cammed an top end rebuilt an ported, larger injectors and tuned. It will out run a stock c5, and have beat a 07 c6 in roll racing. Maybe there is more done to it then I know but I haven’t pulled much of the engine apart except for the the valve covers an timing chain cover to replace it. Didn’t need the timing kit but I was already in there bc if a leak and a bad water pump so why not 🤷‍♂️ that’s how I know it’s cammed

I own a 2003 Anniversary Corvette. I would have to say the C5 is your best option for bang for your buck. The LS Engine is bulletproof.

The C4 of the '90s the LT1 is something to behold once you fix the OptiSpark issue, which could be easily done with an MSD OptiSpark the 330 horsepower really shines unless you're able to find an LT1 with 405 such as myself but if we're talking base model, go with the c5

I love 90s car interiors just plain and simple I don’t smoke but I miss cigarette lighters in cars my 01 Tacoma has one

C5 hands down, plus it's cheaper to mod it. You can buy one for 10k and put a super charger in it and still be cheaper and faster than a c6, plus you can make a c5 look and sound like a beast

I have a 2001 C5 Convertible automatic and a 2008 C6 Z51 6 speed manual. I love them both, but the C6 is faster and more fun to drive with the manual short ratio gears.

There’s some problems with his explanation of the C4s. They were more in the 90’s ending in 1996 and the c5 was 1997. The ride control was first introduced in the c4s, my 94 has it. That C4 has later gen wheels so those aren’t the right rims.

I've spent a lot of time driving a C5 corvette, and first of all, its more of a late 90's early 00's. Second, that adjustable suspension is a placebo and you can't convince me otherwise. third, i has a skip shift feature that makes you want to rip your hair out when you first start to drive it. Despite that, I love it and would daily one every day if I could delete the skip shift "feature".

Saving to get a c5 for a build project. Let's just say, it'll have the power of a c6z and a cool factor of pop-up headlights 🤫

In my opinion the only 2 c4’s I would get would be the 1996 grand sport or the zr1’s. To each his own though.

My dad has a 91 c4 he bought at auction a couple years ago running for I believe it was 3k, he said I can buy it for 2.5k

I pick the 80s due to nostalgia reminds of of going for joy rides with my uncle when he would visit. He was a big wave surfer in Hawaii so obviously he was a little wild and he drove that vette like laws were just suggestions.

80s digital gauges were a nightmare. So many electrical gremlins from that era..

I think 2003 is a good sweet stop, cheap and reliable, has some of the fixes as its a mature engine at this point

All are excellent bargains! C4 has the clamshell hood but the C5 has better balance as the transmission is mated to the rear differential. C6 is just a beast. For me at the prices listed. C5.

I know someone who got an early 2000s corvette for cheap and said the gas milage was way better than his lifted jeep.

For the most part, the 80s corvette was the 90s corvette, c5 came out in the 90s sure, but the c4 was the corvette for 70 percent of the 90s

Let's be honest. The 80s Corvette is the only model that you will consistently see up on blocks in a trailer park.

Nah that 80s one with digital cluster is wild howd they go from digital clusters to analog ones.. also the exhaust on that 06 one sounded sick

The 90s!!! Because C4 looks old and has a terrible stance and interior, C6 has a great interior but the outside was deprived of any personality, the C5 has personality the best stance of the three and not so bad interior, has anybody swaped a C6 interior into a C5?????

Owned a 1986 Corvette Z51 for years, great driver and easy to work on. But the C6 Z06 is the best Corvette of all time, period.

Oh definitely the C4. It was pretty much revolutionary when it came out. The highest cool factor easily. Also best looks in my opinion.
