I feed my spayed cat Hills Science Plan chicken flavour 7+ dry food and the same in wet food. She isn't too keen on eating wet food though. She will be 8 in August. She is an indoor cat.
When you say "meat", does that include fish? The reason I ask is that both our cats (5 1/2-year-old neutered indoor-only males) much prefer fish/seafood cat food to beef and poultry type.
@@schnertblatt Fish is very healthy for cats, but also should be fed in moderation and in combination with meats from various other animals. Cats are attracted to the oils in the fish, which can make it very addicting for them, but too much of these oils is not good either. Cats are desert creatures and so their natural diet would contain few (if any) fish. Personally, the meats i mostly feed my cats are mouse, rat, rabbit, duck, chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, minnows (as treats) and occasionally some makeral, salmon, or trout. I try to feed their food as fresh and raw as possible in a 80% meat, 10% organ, 10% bone ratio. Rotating their food also helps them be less picky eaters as they dont get used to eating just one thing.
@@jaymartinson3236 What a great, important reply, Jay. I would have never known that! Although I do feed them meat other than fish, this is very good information to know and I greatly appreciate it! 😺👍🏻
It's all about how much you let your cat roam around idc if it's a house cat freak give it toys play with it or let it outside, I understand in some country areas you probably don't want to do that but it's all about interaction with your pet and regulating it like it was your own kid
My cat has Hyperestgeisa, the vet thinks might be foid sensitivity, so she put her on Hypoallergenic diet, it's rich in carbs, not protein. I'm worried about her, she's gaining weight, not enough protein to keep her full for a long period of time , also nit much impoverishment in her condition, she's on Gaba. I will do anything for my 3 years old, indoor, short hair best friend. If any has an advice on the information I mentioned, please help. God bless you and thank you for adopting and your help in advance.
I had my cat on a gravity feeder and after 6 years my vet finally said she could probably use a diet. I asked him how. He said fill a bowl in the morning with Iams kibble. When she quits eating, remove the bowl. Repeat for dinner. Then that is the amount to feed her everyday. Nice simple plan if you need to put your cat on a diet.
