I've skimmed a bit through this video because I don't have time to watch it all tonight, but I love your takes, and I can tell from what I've seen that you KNOW your horror movies. (P.S., I liked the House of Wax remake, but I would never do Terrifier 2 like that.)
Super true. The first 4 were great and it was downhill from there until H20, and even that had a lot of issues. It kinda gets a little bit more praise than the movie really deserves just because it has definitely ONE OF THE BEST horror franchise conclusions of all-time!... Until Halloween Resurrection retconned it and ruined it.
@@rashonduswashington4025I agree. There are only two movies where he's interesting as a character to me: In the original and the 2018 requel. He was interesting when he was just a mindless, motiveless, mentally ill man who killed at random and had no purpose or intent. A souless shell of a man. Every other movie other than those two tried to give reasons to why he was what he was, and that was just boring and sucked.
When you picked The Shining over Halloween, even though you have Myers tattooed on YOUR FUCKIN HAND, I said “OK… Jack Nicholson, Stanley Kubrich… I can respect that.” But as soon as you said you’ve never seen The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, I knew there was no point watching the rest of this. Learn your history son.
Maybe because The Shining is one of the greatest of achievements of film and art, that transcends the horror genre and might be one of the best movies of all-time in general? Yes, Halloween is a horror masterpiece that helped define the slasher genre, and while its well written and supremely suspenseful, it's not exactly high art, while it's probably THE GREATEST slasher, it's still a slasher, it's really not even in the same calibur as The Shining.
@@HAZZARD2099Lol… calm down buddy. I said I respected the choice. Shining being the GOAT movie though? Not for me. To each their own. I personally find it kind of boring and can’t respect someone needing to abuse their actress to get a performance out of them. That’s just me though.
