Indeed on both counts. That there is no genuine "meta" is perfect. Pick what works with your play style and you won't be thrashed by the new meta. Personally, I just love the P90 as far as SMGs go. I do see more MP7's on the ground, so it may be the most popular (?) but it's not because of a superiority that forces it's use. I hope they keep with this balanced gun approach. Except, of course, the TAC 50, which I won't use on principle after picking one up from the ground and rapidly getting 3 easy kills with it. And if I can do that, an above average player becomes an intractable problem. I'm pretty confident they'll deal with it soonm. Until then, it's just a nuisance, a frustration. But they did a very nice job with ARs and SMGs, which I'm inclined to use. With all the problems people (rightly) bring up, it's important to let Ubisoft know what they have done well, too.
With attachments involved, the P90 is the clear winner especially right now when most ppl don’t have guns leveled up very much. The rapid fire barrel on the P90 makes it equivalent to the MP7 in close quarters TTK while also killing faster at range, having a bigger mag, easier to control recoil and faster strafe speed. Note: This is a higher skilled player’s opinion, so your mileage may vary. 11.5hrs of solo queue play time with a 2.6 K/D
And the vector will kill you at those ranges. As for ease if use. Yes. P90. Its mag is forgiving. Its range is forgiving. Its mobility is great. But I can rock 7.5% increased fire rate AND 40% straf speed on a vector and get 12 head shots very consistently at mid range. If your fighting with people at the range the vector is losing to the p90, use a sniper rifle.
Having a blast with the mp5 at the moment, but I love having an empirical stat analysis waiting. I'm using my double weapon xp wisely but I plan to respond to your settings video and string together some highlights too
Love Vector design, thats why i pick this over the other smg, however it takes quite a bit of time to get use to, the highest rate of fire with the smallest mag size basically makes the first 0.5s of your gun fight a make or break moment. The small reserved ammo number also mean I have to ditch the Vector for another gun. But once you get a hang of it, it will shred enemy before they even have a chance to turn on you. I was running cloak echelons with this but later on I use vector on cleaner, since the range is never a strong trait of a smg, I would definitely prefer extra tick damage from fire.
The vector and p90 feel the best for me, the mp5 could use a buff. Also I'd like to see the range dropoff buffed a bit. Running an AR with rapid fire is better than smgs and way more versatile.
My absolute favorite is the P90. My least favorite is the Vector. This is somewhat of a weird thing for me, too. Throughout CODs history, I've always preferred the Vector over the P90. I've never actually liked the P90 in any COD game. But in xDefiant, Ive found that the P90s larger base magazine size, coupled with its above average strafe speed, make for an all-around stellar weapon. I just can't stand the 25 round magazine that the Vector is stuck with for over half its leveling process. My P90 build is Rapid Fire barrel, Leather Wrapped front rail, Reflex sight, Quick Mag, and Leather Wrapped rear grip. This shortens the TTK, increases strafe speed, and reduces reload time, all with extremely easy to control recoil. If I may make a recommendation, when you start making weapon guides, you should show all possible TTKs based on attachment combinations i.e. Muzzle Booster and Rapid Fire Barrels which increase fire rate and the Heavy Barrel which increase damage per shot but reduces fire rate. The game doesn't really tell us how these attachments impact the TTK of the weapon, so were basically left to guess based on how the weapon feels with them on whether they are beneficial or not.
I like the AK from assault rifles and the MP7 SMG. Hey Ace, have you read about a theory on reddit that disabling crossplay improves network connection? One user mentioned that it takes longer to get a match but hit reg and TTK feels a lot better.
It makes it much worse for me on average when I disable crossplay. I rarely ever end up on my best server when I do this and in the P90 clips from this video, you may notice I'm on an Asian server. This was due to the fact that I tried disabling crossplay.
@@TheXclusiveAce well, a lot of people replied to that reddit post saying it improved for them, but there was a few people who had the same experience as you. I haven't tried it yet, but I will report back when I get home and play a for a bit.
@@TheXclusiveAce Ok, so after playing for about 3 hours with crossplay disabled here's what I experienced: Hit detection definitely feels better. I normally use snipers and since I had 5 levels to go for gold on my TAC-50 I tried that first and my shots felt more consistent, got less hit markers and weird kills that I feel I shouldnt have gotten. After level 100, I changed to the MP7 because I'm leveling up all the guns I want to use and if this gun was already very good, with no crossplay it melted people!!! I could notice a big difference between being on target and being off target, there was no weird headshots or hits registered when off target. If I missed shots, I missed shots. It felt good even when dying, if I got killed I could tell it was fair and square. Don't get me wrong there was times when I died around a corner, but this time it was a day and night difference. Instead of being 9 out of 10, this time it was the opposite 1 or 2 out of 10. Bunny hoppers were not that difficult to deal with, I ran across a handful in a few matches and I could kill them just fine, they did not feel invincible like they usually are. Overall, I think disabling crossplay worked for me. I live in north Texas and usually connect to the US central servers, sometimes west coast and rarely east coast. I didnt struggle finding gamea with no crossplay, there was a time when it took a bit longer to find one match but it wasnt unreasonable longer than usual, about a couple of minutes more or less. Usually found matches as quickly as usual. All those issues I experienced these past week, today with crossplay off, were almost gone. Gun fights felt better, nothing felt unfair, those annoying bunny hoppers didnt seem as bad.

If you can't find reasons to use a gun, it doesn't matter if it's for just a little, it's the worst gun in the category. MP5 doesn't have a good range, doesn't have a good dropoff, headshots aren't as good as it is with the MP7 (1HS midrange)... whatever you're looking for, it's not the best. Even if you're looking for "hybrid" guns, MP7 does a better job having more range, better HS, and slightly bigger mag. Even P90 does a better job of being a hybrid SMG option. The possible buffs for it to stand out on its own: 1- Make it the most accurate SMG in the game by improving recoil, horizontal deviation and hipfire accuracy. It has the worst TTK of the SMGs so being more accurate would be fair and fit the role of "easy to use" SMG, but I dislike this option because guns like this are likely not going to be used in ranked. 2- Increase max damage range to +20m (idk to what point but not more than 23m). This is my preferred option as it would fit the role of SMG-AR hybrid to the MP5 (MDR is more AR than SMG despite being AR-SMG hybrid, MP5 would be the opposite) and a good pick if your AR teammates aren't doing a good job, but you still want SMG mobility.

Vector, heads, rapid fire barrel, booster. 1075 rpm. 17.9 rounds per second. 15 chest shots, like 12 heads, .67 or so ttk. :) better than all other smgs. Just get good.
This game is decent but my god they need to fix the hit reg/netcode/whatever technical name you want to give my bullets not connecting or imma dip real quick. Looks like many others have this issue too, shame
My first game I was playing with the MP5 on long range Overwatch style map against snipers and I thought that it was my connection issue because it was impossible to kill people. Now I know that it was 10 shot kill MP5 versus 1 shot kill snipers with quick ADS
Love the content but gotta say.. the MP5 is horrible & not viable in my opinion. The base MP7 is GOD TIER and only gets better with each new attachment. Need to try the other smudges.
I really hate how limiting the SMGs feel, their TTK up close isnt so drastically fast that the ars can't compete and anything outside 20m they are useless. I just don't think it's a good way to balance them.
@@corncobbler1710 double barrel has decent one shot potential. Aa-12 is decent with the cleaner passive and pump shotgun in worst in my opinion. Also headshot damage does nothing for you and ads seems to make the spread of pallets ever so slightly smaller
Same, shotguns are trash ,it's hit marker machine, very inconsistent, dying behind cover ,sometimes you die instantly, sometimes take forever to kill someone, this game need serious fixing....
It seems like the P90 is just generally better out of the box than the MP5. Maybe give the base MP5 a 15% or so range boost? That’d help make it the slightly slower firing but more versatile at midrange SMG compared to the others. Either that or make it like the M4 where it has the fastest base ADS speed.
I dont understand, the MP5 is all i see people running, maybe its cause im at a low level so its all people have but the range on that thing is still pretty good but not the best and this is in base
Hey Ace, I think you should strongly consider automatically filtering out any comments that use emojis. 25 minutes after posting like 1/3 of the comments on this video are bot accounts with pornographic profile pictures, and theyre all using emojis in their obviously spam comments having nothing to do with the video. GamersNexus and other large channels use these types of filters for this exact reason, and as a youtube OG I'm pretty sure they would share their filter list with you.
The more I play xDefiant the more it sucks me in to play just one more game. It feels like I have to tryhard sometimes but it also feels like I can tryhard in a relaxing way because of matchmaking. It has some issues and room for improvement but if they pull off proper support it gas a place in the FPS scene for sure
Having similar experience with this game. Guess it will depend how serious you take the game, but it's actually really fun to play and imo much less toxic than cod.
Im having a blast with this game, i love the simplicity of it. Pick a gun get a handfull of attachments pick a character and off you go, it brings me such old school cod vibes i which i love. I hope and i really really hope that the devs keep it simple, fast paced small to medium size maps, and just a few attachments per category on each gun. I dont wanna have to go through an essay looking at my gun stats when choosing an attachment
the advanced customization of weapons in mw these days is what brings me some of the most fun out of the game. I spend so long looking at different attachments not only for stats but also for aesthetics.
I have only played snipers, but there are some super unconsistent damage and hit detection + delayed shots. Sniper headshots hitmarkers: i rack up like 10 of theese within 3-4 games. Both snipers, Even the heavy one ac-50. I Even watched my Clips frame by frame to confirm. Bad hit detection. I did not feel this in the start, might be due to faster paced new mode. Delayed shot. 1-1,5 seconds delayed fire from snipers, you have time to turn around and jump before it fire the shot. Theese things are what made me quit cod. They should fix them asap. Other than that the game is very Nice and fun :) just turns boring when ur on ur 9th hitmarker in a row with ur sniper…
I think that the only reason the smg's are standing out right now is due to the poor hit reg. Overcome the hit problem by just making sure you put as many bullets into a hit box as you can. Try using the marksman rifles and the hit reg problem is much more noticeable.
I think a simple buff for the MP5 without it being too strong or outclassing some of the SMGs is to give it a damage range boost. In the description, it says that the gun is a good all rounder and it's not wrong to an extent. But the MP7 is just straight up better while the P90 gives you more ammo, so making the MP5 something you can use beyond 20 meters like say, 28 meters, -Could give the SMG a niche to be better at medium ranges in its' class. Other than that, they could just improve the handling and mobility so that it fills in that niche for those that want to be aggressive and Speedy Gonzalez lol.
Well considering Ubisoft, you'll be paying ten dollars a month for skins. They literally just added that to Rainbow Six Seige after ten years of cycling different monetization methods. On top of season passes, and operators you have to buy. This is already after they killed their previous season passes, after years of chipping it's quality away after they killed loot boxes. So good luck with that. You think Activision is greedy? Just wait.
The SMGs are very fun and effective, but they have a very high skill gap. These seem to be the two main reasons why people have a hard time with SMGs: 1) They don't utilize movement enough 2) They're afraid of recoil increasing attachments I think the Vector needs a buff (to mobility?) to compensate for its horrible range, but other than that I think the range dropoffs are absolutely necessary for weapon balance. Even with max (+12.5%) movement speed builds the SMGs have very controllable recoil. A significant range buff would make them broken in most non-linear maps. Movement is a HUGE deal in this game and SMGs shine at it.
I don’t think the Vector needs anything. In fact, the MP5 needs a buff of some kind to make it actually stand out compared to the other SMGs. Right now, the only reason one would use it is to unlock either the P90 or Vector
@@brawler5760 I see the MP5 as a slightly worse hybrid between the P90 and MP7. P90 is great, but it doesn't have a fast stock available, so you can't build it for movement speed like the rest. MP7 is rapid but worse at longer ranges. With the Vector you either have to kill your movement speed to get range, or kill your range to get movement speed. The latter is probably preferred, but it's still a lose-lose situation.
I think the MP5 could use a slight buff to either its movement speed or its damage range to make it stand out a bit more and give a reason to choose it. I’d say buff the movement speed to 4.45-4.5m/s so that it can be the SMG that really leans into the movement of the game, or buff the respective ranges out by like 0.5-1 meter to give it a bit of an edge.
hey, there is a way to bypass the jumping spam and crouch penalty. I have a method. If you just hold your left thumbstick in, you can bypass it for crouching. I have one for jumping as well. I'm just letting you know since the devs pay attention to your videos and tweets mine unfortunately won't reach them. Make sure to give me that shout out haha
the vector with the muzzle booster and heavy barrel together gives you a ttk of 269ms on 100hp, the second fastest full auto setup in the game after the aa-12
Could you please cover DPS as well? In a game with a lot of micro-damage (fire ammo) and micro-heal (Libertad passive) and extra HP (Libertad ultra, Phantoms) sources, DPS might just be a more important stat for a gun's lethality than theoretical 100 HP TTK
Vector dps. Bad range/mag size. P90 mobility+ high mag+ size range+ Mp7, the thing between p90 and vector. Worse ttk than vector and worse range and mag size and mobility from p90. Mp5 unusable garbage trash.
Cant lie was kinda fun the first couple days now it just feels like a COD ranked sweatfest literally 90% of the lobbies are jumping and hopping around everywhere snipers landing shots nonstop can't miss even in point blank range beating smgs??? Like cmon I'd rather go back to Insurgency or Hell Let Loose these games just aint it 🤦🏽♂️
I tested every SMG for myself and got them to lvl 20ish, i personally play the best with the MP5 (lvl80), i win more Gunfights as with the others. in the end its just which you like the most.
I like the less aim assist cod should copy that. I think mw3 had less aim assist in the beginning n noobs complained n got it increased. I gave up on xdefiant for now because of the the desync n dying around corners it feels like a joke not a real game. I will be back if they fix it completely, n for ranked, ranked has lots of potential, no b.s ebmm deciding when to hand u a L or W. Mp7 feels like the best smg, but after seeing these number seems like u really can only compete up close or else just dont use a smg, the p90 feels so weak.
I had fun until i reach lvl 25, now i cant win a gunfight or win a game or have good teammates... Dont know if anybody else having this issues, pretty frustrating.

MP5 is easily my favorite. I think it's more versatile than the MP7 personally. The MP7 seems to be a pee shooter at a range. Put the muzzle booster on the MP5 and it really destroys.
The MP5 is definitely a gun that I would love to see have a role in the game. It's not bad, not great, but somehow, that just makes it suck honestly. It starts to kinda get good when you put the right attachments together, but it's a rough ride until then
