As of December 21st 2023 Cryo Pods are in the game. However on official servers you can only throw out cryo within range of a cryo fridge so the information in this video is still relevant. On unofficial servers you can change it so you can throw cryo pods outside the range of a cryofridge or have access to mods. These are the codes unofficial server owners can use to change cryo pod settings. Cryopod configurable settings: ◦ GameUserSettings.ini under [ServerSettings] DisableCryopodEnemyCheck=True - will ignore the enemy player/structure/dino checks AllowCryoFridgeOnSaddle=True - will allow Cryofridge to be placed on rafts/saddles DisableCryopodFridgeRequirement=True - will disable the Cryofridge requirement for releasing cryopodded dinos
Hey don’t underestimate them. I saw an alpha Rex and panicked until I realized it was getting ganked by I’d guess 10 or so dimorphodons and it couldn’t turn fast enough to hit any of them so it just got shredded to death
@@mishaaldawnak5373 I wish. It just slowly turned and walked in circles but kept getting stuck on rocks and it couldn’t do anything about it. I don’t think a single one of the dimorphs died
In the redwood cave, the arthropleura will not break your gas mask if you only wear the gas mask and remove all other armor. This is the best option when going in with the frog to get cementing paste.
But those WILL be destroyed by the arthropleura, so a pointless comment in relation to the topic. But it is a good tip for those who want to survive inside@@robertcall8877
Update: Baryonyx is able to fit inside the cave of the Immune. Thank you to classicfluffy for pointing this out to me. This is a reupload, due to at the time of first recording the Baryonyx could not fit inside the redwoods cave but now does. I did not want false information in my video. Baryonyx is now one of my top recommendations for cave tames where before I could not recommend it. 0:00 Intro 0:14 Immune 1:29 Strong 1:57 Not covering 2:10 Clever 2:33 Hunter 2:56 Pack 3:58 Massive 4:28 Devourer 4:49 Base Stats 6:42 Recap 7:35 Thanks For Watching Small Tames with links to their Dododex sites. Baryonyx hands down one of the best tames in ark. Fast runner and swimmer, can jump, good dps and stun attack underwater. Can't go wrong with barys. 10/10 video btw
I love barys! They got so much better with ASA too now that they don't have oxygen or movement speed stats, got 49 melee off of a 110. Thank you for watching, so glad you enjoyed it!
The bary is a god. Mine at just over a hundred going into the Swamp Cave discovered level 450 plus spiders galore and ate them like they were candy. Came out around 175. I'm pretty sure anything else would have been dead in seconds, but those things are beasts.
You deserve thousands of views this was more helpful than 20 videos ive watched about these caves. Strsight to the point explaining what dinosaurs can get in/out og each cave and whats recommend plus showing some stats.
I haven't tested all the caves yet, but thought I'd add that the carnotaurus fits through the entrances of Clever, Hunter, Massive, and Pack. I was quite surprised it could fit in caves that a thyla couldn't as it looks so much bigger.
Awesome cave guide video :) at 3:54 - The beelzebufo is too wide to fit out if coming back out the normal way. However, I found that it can still make it out in the open drop part by jumping up the branches and walls of the cave. It takes a bit of practice but it is possible!
To be fair it is a decently fast tame with a capability to jump. And most things that would give you problems in the water can be stunned, just not all.
I can confirm gigantopithecus CAN get out of the Upper South Cave(PACK). Took about 30 seconds of jumping around to get past the first bottleneck on the way out, and maybe 4 minutes for the tree root on my first journey. Can probably find the sweet spots eventually.
Im on official and I tamed a 150 Pulmonoscorpius. It was stuck in the south east cave on the main island until i finakky git a cryopod. But after iy was maxxed it handles the cave bo problem. A few of them together in a cave could be fun lol.
the whole process is o.k on one hand and super "what do you want from me" on the other. playing first time on server settings, what is i do, and you stuck. What do the developers want from me? play easy? The Game is fun - it should not kick your but at the end in the way it does. so i do cave building and fuck the rest.
Here’s a trick I found: baryonyx is definitely your best bet but a pain to tame because of the swamp critters. I recommend knocking it out in a trap AND surrounding it in wooden spikes then demolishing them when your done
@@TheLordIvel I have done the cave on ASA with a Thyla. You have to spam jump through the entrance. Once you get to a choke point where seem like you can't spam jump, you just need get along the right wall and angle your self 45 degrees ish towards the left and spam jump through.
I have also used a thyla in the carno island cave on ASA. I didn't spam jump. I just harvested all Crystal at the front of the cave and it allows the thyla to get through. Spam jumping would be far quicker.
Unless they changed something, it can get all of the way to the short tunnel where the artifact is, which is usually clear anyway. I used to use it all of the time to farm the red drops.
6:00 Primitive 25 armor saddles give a 20% damage reduction, not 50%. Meaning the raptor would have 240 effective hit points and the terror bird would have 324 effective hit points. The wolf also gets more hp per level. This means the wolf is still the best option hp wise assuming you don't have a good saddle.
You are right about the wolf hp. It does scale a lot faster then most other dinos, and can compete relatively well assuming you don't have good saddles yet. Saddle armor is a bit complicated. Against explosives and alphas the damage reduction is 20% however against most dinos the reduction is 50%. There is a helpful graph on the ark wiki about this, about halfway down. Being that this video was about caves, any creature you find in there should be at the damage reduction of the regular dinos range. Here is the link to the ark wiki. ark.fandom.com/wiki/Saddles
It's a solid option for sure. My goal was to get the overall best tame and still talk about some other options, I did not go over every possible tame for each cave. Thanks for the comment!
Hey, typically hp is the more valuable stat from my testing. It has more of an impact on you surviving an encounter then melee does. My recommendation would be to pump hp if you are struggling to beat something and to pump melee to just speed it up a little bit.
The snow cave/artifact of the strong has also been glitchy for me i was raising direwolves in the cave on my single player but after logging of and coming back on half of them were glitched under ground and i couldn't get them back
I use a single imprinted wolf for most of these caves; it does take a lot more damage with no saddle (especially with headshots counting in melee) but of the smaller creatures that 'just fit' it's got the best DPS and dead enemies deal no damage so it gets through pretty good. Only one I haven't tried yet is snow (strong) cave - theorycrafting says they'd be good for sniffing out the buried purlovia, but not sure if they can handle the damage output from the high level spawns in there.
When doing the raptor DPS did you take into account the attack speed buff when you do that pack boost? Apparently it works with just you riding your raptor.
Cryopods came, and got nerfed so you can't throw anything in the caves (unless you can build in it.) They do work for getting Barys back out of the Pack cave though.
Megalania was unable to fit inside the redwoods cave. I did try though, I just couldn't go over each dino for every cave otherwise this video would be way to long.
It can yes, but you are high enough to where you can avoid it if you position your barrys head toward the arthro, then the spit will hit the barry instead.
@@TheLordIvel I was in swamp cave on a barry and the arthro even broke my shotgun. I went to the easy south cave and an arthro killed me while I was on a frog. I've never had this happen in ASE
Bro, is sabertooth larger than Dire wolf 🤔 cause you didn't compare it dire wolf, raptor and Terror bird, does it not fit in the same size slot as those ?
If you are talking about getting out of the pack cave I did try it and it doesn't fit. The difference I believe is that it couldn't jump as high as the dire wolf. Have you been able to get the Sabertooth to fit?
I'll save you from watching the long ass video. If you can fit a megatherium into the cave, bring that. If you can't fit a megatherium, bring the Frog. The end, yw.
Cryo pods weren't in the game or announced to be coming at the time of upload. They are as of December 21st 2023 in the game on official servers. Just use cryopods to transfer stronger dinos for those caves runs. One good Megatherium will clear Swamp Cave without any problems. Ps. You can either use a mod or wait for extinction dlc for the cryopods.
