Facts about insurance. Mine jumped like 80 bucks a month when I have a clean record. There is nothing like paying for a service you don't utilize until something bad happens
Bro,,,, You read my mind, as I just received an offer that I couldn't refuse and sold my Dark Horse and purchased an 2020 GT500 with the handling package for the channel!
@@ItalianStallion410 Love both of them but yes the GT500 has a special place to say the least. Maybe we can do a collaboration with our channels sometime, I'm always filming in the PA and MD area. Cheers...
I went to go look at a 2020 GT350 my dealer bought from a collector. And as I was looking at the car. My salesmen showed me photos of the preproduction Dark Horse. Which I told him I was getting a car regardless. But I wouldn’t pay over sticker. We got the deal written up for MSRP on Premium HP car. And I picked her up last November and I just freaking love it. Shelby’s are great cars. 500 or 350. But to road course a car. The 350 had me, until I saw the Dark Horse.
as a GT500 owner, I don't think i will ever live another day without one. The car is a brute, its my 3rd mustang after a 2015 and 18 GT both manual and the 500 just mops them up. It is the perfect mustang to ME but i do miss the manual so much. Next car will be a Darkhorse probably in a year or 2 but the 500 will always be the forever in my garage car. Living in central ish pennsylvania, the back roads, tree covered highways and scenic overlooks make the ambience of the car that much better. winter can suck it though.
A rocking video, Jake! 👏👏👏Today’s ‘24 Dark Horse, is the equivalent, to what the ‘70 BOSS 302 was ….to the Mustang 54 years ago. It’s a drivers car…a handling car, with the Screaming, high Revving 302! It won the Trans Am series in 1970, With Parnelli Jones. I had the privilege of riding in my Uncle’s ‘70 BOSS when I was just a kid! I will never forget that feeling, with him power shifting and breaking traction, just like you did in the Dark Horse today. Don’t get me wrong… the GT 500 is bad ass, Just in a different kind of way. I’m so glad you still have Zeus!🐍🖤🐎 💯💯💯🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Dude the GT500 is freakin nasty. I thought about getting a used gt500 or gt350 but ended up ordering a Dark Horse. I just love the new styling and some of the tweaks they've made to the chassis.
I love my Darkhorse. My first one caught fire and burned and I didn’t hesitate to get another one. Now that I have a handling pack one I love it even more!!!
Take it from me. When i was your age nothing scared me about going fast until you lose it and almost die. That will get your attn quick. When you think you got the car mastered it will bite you. Just be careful bro and know your limit. Love your vids !!!
100%. Only once you've lost the car's back end kicking out until its out of control does it make you respect a vehicle's power. I learnt this the hard way in my youth in Australia. That's why I analyse everything before going WOT in my whippled 10R80 GT now.
Man the exhaust on the Darkhorse sounded incredible! Certainly took me by surprise. This was a video I didn't know I needed to watch. I would add, that given the spoiler it looks like you have the Handling Pack on the DH? That comes with the brand new Trofeo RS tire, which is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over the PS4S on the base GT500, and the R888R. I believe the RS is a 100tw tire which significantly helps with feel, cornering, braking and grip. All of this to say...I would be very, very interested to see what you think of a CFTP equipped GT500 (or the base even) on the same rubber. Or a Mach 1, for that matter which is essentially the equivalent trim level of a Dark Horse at least in-terms of current product offerings. Great video!

Both cars are nasty! But the main questions you should ask yourself is, what are your ultimate goals? As a mustang enthusiast myself, I currently 2 s197s. One is a v6, daily drive it back and forth to work. Bought it last year. I had a grabber blue coyote like Dereks until recent. Didn't drive the car much. Wasn't happy, been wanting an early model GT500 found a deal on one and went for it. Will be back in a coyote platform later on. Just won't be in a s197 chassis, will be in a fox chassis :)
@@streetcarmedia660 my goal is to just have fun and enjoy them honestly keep building them and pushing the limits with them I miss my fox some times you’ll love a fox

Great video. I know you posted this video a couple months back. Don't know if you fixed Apollo in the Corsa rattle sound you're getting. You probably have the old style muffler which I originally had on my 19 GT. If you have the old style muffler look look in on the non-valved muffled side. You'll see there's an insert that's welded in that has like a cheese grater. Kind of look to it. On two replacement mufflers I've had so far it's tack welded kind of shitty so it rattles over time on the inside of the muffler. And if it's not that I've actually had the valved tips replaced for rattling as well. You can feel if it has a lot of slack from underneath the tip where the shaft for the butterfly valve goes through. If you push on it and it has a lot of slack it'll move up and down. The new valves they're little to no slack on the shaft for the butterfly valve. Best time to check it. Mine rattled really bad especially at cold. Start. then it would go away and come back at certain RPMs when driving which is annoying as hell. As you know. LOL. I hope you see this and it helps you if you haven't fixed it already or if there's anybody else having issues on your channel. Like you said call Corsa up. They will gladly send you out replacement for your charge. The mufflers have a lifetime warranty and the valve tips are warrantied for 5 years
I don't know if you're able to send me a video of the rattle sound. I diagnosed it with taking a small Hammer handle and sliding it in to the muffled side of the muffler with the car idling and I pressed in there on that cheese grater tubing. If you have it and your muffler. That's the old style. The newer style should be smoothbore insert. I pushed in with the handle tip on the inside of the muffler on that sleeve and it goes away. So it's not tack welded correctly. But they will send you out a replacement. Pretty damn quick.
GT500 sounds so good, did you use an external mic for recording? I have an insta360 ace pro and the audio recording is nowhere near that good for the exhaust.
I've seen a couple used darkhorses with like 3-5k miles for sale around 60k but at same time can get a used mach 1 around 40k but when tuning gets unlocked that dark horse has crazy potential with boost. But a dark horse short block in a used mach 1
Cobra badge and American Flag! How much more Shelby American can you get?! 🤔You and Zander13 sold me on an Oxford white 22. I saw an Oxford white CS and had to have her. Now you can say you've helped sale one of those too! 🤣👍Thx for the ride alongs bro. Both are bad a$$ cars but i do and have always loved Shelby and Zues is just wicked!
I see them as two different Mustangs. The GT500 is a high horsepower beast that works well on both the Track and dragstrip, where the Dark Horse is more refined with hidden performance waiting for a Whipple and I'm guessing soon a tune. Having driven both cars. The Dark Horse feels more balanced with Supercar brakes and a very comfortable interior that's more refined. It's also a track beast with 800 horsepower waiting on tap with a Whipple Supercharger. The problem is that both cars are badass with the GT500 having an amazing topend. I don't invy your decision. The one thing to consider is currently the GT500 is no longer in production where the Dark Horse is. Goodluck making the decision that you feel good about.
Yeah that is a very good point the Shelby is done being made if I could keep the Shelby I would I just finished the build and I don’t really know what else to do from a content stand point
I love your channel and content lil, bro.. I love the Dark for sure. But if you get rid of it I will understand.. I love the manual stuff.. I get it the auto's are faster for racing but I love shifting my own gears.... I just started getting random 3rd gear lockout. I was racing a manual Camaro SS and we were side by side till I missed 3rd. God I was pissed.. I got the MT82 blues. Sometimes It goes into 3rd fine but it can't be counted on to race with! Once the summer is over I'm going to take her to a friend and do the syncro shift 2 and get the rear done too. I probably going to get an MGW, Braided clutch line, and a new clutch soon too. I was on a nice run.. I banged second, and she hooked perfectly and then I went by ear instead of watching the Tack, Ended up double clutching 3rd, pissed me off. It's sad what ford did to the manual GT's cheaping out like that.. They should have all came with tremec's. It would have been worth an extra 3K per car... I don't know what the Real or best fix is??? But I am going to eventually turn her up and then need to straighten out the shifter situation.. I got my 17 with just about 9K on her.. I just hit 12,600 after 9 months of weekend use.. I love my Gen 2.. She goes.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LIofHaCNm1A.html
@@marcasswellbmd6922 I think people do with the short throw shifter to help fix that 3rd gear lock out issues you are better off asking my buddy Brandon or Derek that did what they needed to fix their cars
You can't beat a GT500. That said, there's alot of missing info out here about the Dark Horse. It was never supposed to be NA... The Dark Horse was originally intended to come with a supercharger. Something went awry with Whipple and they weren't ready in time. Ford Performance said fudge it, slapped a GT intake on it, and rolled out at a lower price point. But you got a forged engine that also uses the GT500 rods, beefed up MT tranny, gearing in the MT tranny that's designed to help you get traction under boost, and GT500 half-shafts so you don't end up in Snap City on your first run with slicks. Once you slap that FPP Whipple kit on there, you're good to bash the shit out of it without fear.
I would choose the GT500 over the Dark Horse hands down, because the GT500 has more horsepower, it's an S550, and I like Shelbys because of how they look and the sick, iconic snake logo.
Love the content as usual (although you do need to get a clip mic for your drives cause dammnnnn your exhaust note drowns you out! So for those reading; I'm one of those guys who pulled the trigger on the Dark Horse. Selling my supercharged S550 for a loaded DH Premium and will be going NA this time. The Shelby IS a beautiful car however the RU-vid ecosystem is saturated with GT500 content. I can't swing a cat without hearing how awesome the Shelby is and how it's top dog etc. etc. etc. All valid points; but if you are looking to parlay the channel into a career my recommendation would be to do things that others AREN'T doing. When the GT500 of the S650 eventually releases your S550 GT500 content may not be as lucrative.
@@Michael-CS yeah their really is so much Shelby content out there I really don’t know what to do with the car anymore it’s such a good strong running car it kills me to sell it cause it’s just so perfect
When did you place your order and do you have any word on it? I ordered my premium ember blue manual March 29th and don't have a build date yet. Im hoping it gets built as a 2024 model as the 2025 has a decent price increase?
Tough decision but I lean towards the Shelby GT500 I believe it will hold its value a lot better than the dark horse. The manual in the dark horse makes it a lot more fun for sure. I still say ford dropped the ball on not making a 2020 GT500 with a manual transmission, that’s why I love my boosted GT350 best of both worlds. Good luck on your endeavors.
A build I'd like to do is a S550 GT350 with the GT500 transmission. I'd have to do that because it's illegal for me to drive a manual transmission vehicle and I can't drive a manual transmission vehicle because I'm paralyzed from my hips down because I was born with the disability Spina Bifida and use a wheelchair to get around. I absolutely love my 2017 Grabber Blue Mustang GT also.
As a GT500 owner, I say keep the GT500 (duh), but putting myself in your shoes as a RU-vid content creator, GT500 is old tech, so I get it. Also, selling the GT500 will certainly net you the most cash back (or not). I know whatever decision you make, I am sure it has been well thought out. Good luck!! BTW, Darkhorse needs a new name.... you are on the theme of Greek Gods, so continue the theme? Athena maybe? Teslas are fireworks without the noise LOL... but ya, If it's American, I am all in. OK OK... dont sell the GT500... please??
I did name the Dark Horse Ghost it didn’t go with my theme but it just seemed so fitting I do love the GT500 I just needed the money for a down payment. For that land
As much as i love the millisecond shifting of the DCT (there's nothin like it as in the 500) but does the DH have a 3:73 gear ? Cuz it sounds like a :73 not 3:55
Dark horse all day looks like you have a lot more fun driving it, sell the GT500 and build the 10spd to drag easily better platform than the GT500 with the trans situation
There is a naturally aspirated 5.2L GT500 with a manual and it’s called a GT350! 😂. Trust me, the reliability issues of the Voodoo is overblown, and the GT350 is a much better drivers car than the Darkhorse. Also, a boosted GT350 is better than both! 😎
I’ve had my GT350 for 3+ years now and I still love the voodoo. I looked at a DH to maybe sway me to trade, but after 10 minutes, it’s was a hard “no”. The body styling and the “iPad” display of the S650 just did not appeal to me. And the 70k+ price tag, either. Now… the GT500 is a great car… but as an older guy…and old school..sorry, I need to be fully engaged with two arms and two legs to get the full driving satisfaction. The 2nd gen voodoo, btw, is very reliable. I will say, though, your DH sounds amazing.. and I am a tad jealous of the rev matching feature that the GT350 doesn’t have.

@@ItalianStallion410 23 miles. Whew, that guy is holding on for a future auction I’d wager. He may get his price with that mileage too in the future since he probably trailers it anywhere it goes. I admire that somewhat but personally I’d wanna drive it The dark horse looks incredibly impressive.
Do you know if ford will sell a gt3 kit for the s550s? I’ve called ford and ford performance, they’ve all kinda had no clue what I was asking. I loved their gen3 gt3 kits
By the way the GT500 is also my dream car I mean like literally my dream car unfortunately it’ll take me 2 yrs to get it but I just want one gone in 60 seconds made me love this car and you can’t go wrong with any GT500 so hopefully my dream comes true
Without watching this, the answer is as of right now, neither, get an 11-23 GT instead. 24 mustangs are limited in tuning, and GT500 still has no transmission access which is why you see GTs laying dowm better track times with just a blower. So if you want to race, you go 11-23 GT and not anything 24+ or GT500.
Gt500 you can tune the trans cause mine is tuned so that is false the 24s will be able to tune after they are done with the GTD and false again it’s all due to gearing DCT vs 10 speed is big difference 10 speed is better for drag racing cause it can cut a better 60ft easy. No GT will handle as good as a Shelby and that’s a fact and the 24s are making 900 to the wheels on E30 with a stage 2 whipple on stock fuel system … wait tell they can tune them and put a fuel system and x85 you’ll see 1000+ easy out of the 24s
@@ItalianStallion410 no GT500 has a tuned DCT, that's just an outright lie because no one has access to the DCT. Again, you just proved the 24s are limited. Why are they running e30? Because you can't tune them on E85. Those cars making that much on E30 are on the ragged edge of the fuel system. Until more than one guy has access to the 24's ECU, it will be limited and not worth getting. But even when we do get access to the 24's ECU, it won't matter because it won't make anymore power than what a gen2 or gen3 can make. Lastly, there's nothing about the GT500 that makes it so special that a GT can't produce the same lap times seeing as all of its suspension parts can be bolted on to any 2015-present GT all while the GT will be weighing less since they aren't 4000+lb cars.

@Italianstallion410 Jake your content is some of the best I watch on RU-vid. Other than Derek and Mike aka streetspeed717.
