What is the difference between 100% and permanent total disability?
The VA rating schedule is based on your average impairment and earnings capacity. The symptoms of a service-connected disability, if they are consistent with 100% rating, will be assigned a total disability rating.
A total disability is considered to exist when your service-connected conditions would make the average person incapable of work.
