For anyone who sees this comment and is planning to keep their tractor long term... The X370 has the Tuff Torq K57 transmission vs the run of the mill "lower end" Tuff Torq K46 that is in nearly all lawn tractors these day including x350. The K46 is a sealed unit and is a weaker transmission. My salesman at my dealer was actually taken a back I knew this when I told him why I was looking at the x370. He had to go look it up because he didn't realize it was serviceable on the X370. I had already looked through the manuals online and watched tutorials so I knew it was lol. You can service the K57 via filter and fluid changes. You cannot do this easily with the K46. Heat is what kills transmissions. There are even higher levels of the X300 series that don't have serviceable transmissions despite being a more robust unit. The X370 is special in this regard, especially for the price and getting power steering and the hydraulic deck. I am awaiting my new x370 and while it's nearly $1,000 more than the x350, anyone who sees the value in keeping their tractor long term 20+ years will likely kick themselves for not spending the little extra if they can swing it. I did extensive research on this via forums and youtube. Serviceability is what keeps tractors, vehicles, etc all in service for the long haul.
Thank you. I have a John Deere Sub-Compact Utility Tractor, often referred to as a SCUT. One step up from the John Deere X series of riding lawnmowers is the John Deere 1 series SCUT series. My model is the 1025R and I mow with a 60” deck as well as many other uses. The issue is my wife is not comfortable using the 1025R for mowing due to its height and larger size but the transmission is serviceable and our land has significantly grade or hills. She mows the area nearest our home, approximately 1 acre and she cares about how the lawn looks. I mow an additional 3+ acres, along the sides of our private road, around our pond, around my shop, down two walking paths through the woods, and our lower lot. I mow for time / speed so in the open area I mow at 9 miles per hour, and could not care less about a rough lawn look when I’m done. Im looking at the X370 to replace our current 42” deck V-twin engined John Deere model LA135 riding mower for her. The reason I’m focusing on the X370 is it offers a serviceable transmission (fluid/filer) as well as power steering, and will keep her much lower than the little tractor. Those green mower decks need to go away el pronto. At that price point you will be better off in the long run with the X380 , bigger everything for a couple hundred more
