U.S.: X marks the spot. Japan: X is used for a wrong answer the reason for (cancel) O is used for a correct answer (OK) That is why the buttons are different. Also, you could probably also just use a different memory card for a different profile.
I currently live in Japan and they have many different Special Vita’s like Persona 4 golden version and different color ones. I got an orange one. And Games galore. I am currently learning Japanese but not fast enough for my liking lol. I just don’t understand why they gave up on Vita outside of Japan. It’s crazy to be on the subway and see someone in a business suit using a Vita. Nintendo DS is for kids and Vita is for adults out here. But that switch though... it’s going after that adult Vita community out here
Americans are very biased. Just get both systems and find out for yourself. I collect a few 3DS limited editions but they’re collecting dust now. I am still carry a vita on my everyday. It suck they take away “Near” function.
LOL I just sold mine. The whole PS vita thing was a scam, a system cost premium and they turned it into a PS4 accessory with a bunch of shitty indie games.
@@zackdreak1870 I def agree that sony botched the psvita and jim ryan is a bitch but honestly a hacked hatsune miku psvita that has every game on the ps store for free isnt half bad
Thank you very much for making this. I was wanting a white and lime ps vita that seems to be a japanese exclusive color. This made me feel comfortable with my purchase!
I just ordered the JPN Black/Red One, because that’s one of the Bundles. Thank you SO MUCH, for clearing up Region Differences, as I’m in the US, as well!
Just got 2 more. 2 > 2000s oof the bay. A silver and a neon orange with white button. My original one I got about three weeks ago it's a regular black 1000 with all the CFW. Orange one they got caught trying to send the battery in it so they had to take it out but he deducted it from the price he's going to send it dismantled but wrap it real good that way I could slap a battery in it when I get it. I've already got the battery. It but it's being shipped by boat so it'll probably be here in about a month and a half the silver one should be here in 2 weeks.
Walter Sobchak So how is the quality on the used ones? I have a 1000 edition I got when it first came out but I really don’t wanna hack that one. I saw a couple of Japanese Version going for like 120-140 but I don’t know if the used ones will work fine
@@LS-vc9uq depends on who you get them from. I got a 1000 with henkaku and all that. Well Enso I think is the name with the box. Box beat to hell but still there for 200 form Ebay. I liked it so much that I bought 2 more. To be honest the ones from Japan look brand new. The guy I got the orange one from replaced the screen and button and thumb sticks. The Japan import Vitas were 130 and 155. Silver and a orange color one. I haven't sent the 2000s to be modded yet but will soon. One thing you will notice about the 2000 models immediately is how much lighter in weight it is. If you want the link from the place I got mine let me know. Although the one with the new screen was sent by boat so it took 2.5 months to get here. The other took 11 days. Not so bad. So yeah, well worth it to me. Playing that Ys memories now.
Nice. I was nervous about buying a Japanese Vita . A little sad that the box and instructions inside aren't English ( small price to pay as a collector lol 🤣) but it might save me a couple hundred dollars now the fact that vita , PSP and PS3 stores are closing 😁 thank you . Might actually get one for the first time . Might rebuy a PSP as well .
@jason s it actually surprised me. They take care of their stuff real well. Was labeled as used like new with the box and everything and when I opened it it literally looked like it's never been touched lol like couldn't see like any scratches at all. Was worth the purchase . Been playing on it every now and then. With the attaching of your account too, it honestly feels like a North American Vita ( minus the whole circle x switching part which I got pretty use to it ) was worried about it not feeling right from getting a Japanese version lol but yes it was worth it. Highly recommended to anyone that's been wanting one to order from the right seller on eBay.
I have this same exact color-way Japanese model vita, I can get around COD alright but when playing killzone mercenary I get so pissed when get the X and O mixed up in the heat of the moment during gameplay. Yeah, I’ve changed the buttons in the menu settings as well, but it doesn’t change the button layout in most games which is annoying, but I still love my vita.
Unpicked yo a Japanese vita because I wanted the white color was worth it for me I got used to the circle and x after awhile Sometimes it’s weird because us games won’t do that but the menu will So games play normal if you set it up with a is account It does make sense for circle to be confirmed and x to cancel visually Love my vita Just a note I remember switching buttons once a long time ago I believe if you do that it will change the menu but because it switches buttons then the buttons will actually be backwards in game so I leave it default and just let it be weird in menus and normal in games
Just curious about something. You said that a game you downloaded from the Playstation Store on your Japanese PSVita had the button reverse. Would that be because it was downloaded from a Japanese PSVita, but using an NTSC or PAL game would not have the X and O button reverse because those games are programmed to use X and O the way we outside Japan have it? Hope that makes sense thanks!
I. Got a ps vitta from Japan so I can play resistance retribution but it won't let me download it from the PS store?? It keeps saying error (NP-9948-0) did I get a useless ps vita?
I’m glad I always played japan games so I’m used to the whole x an o thing, I haven’t owned a vita yet but just pulled the trigger. Japan ones are so much cheaper, got a steal on eBay for a OLED one with games
Thank you so much! I wanna get a Vita Slim for my birthday because I love mine so much but It is getting really old. I was scared that I wasn't gonna be able to use the NA Playstation Store, (because I want to buy P4G before I get my new Vita) so I thought if I bought it I might loose it. This helped so much!
I play nintendo consoles mainly, I had a vita for a while, and it took me forever to get used to X to select. I actually like that menus O is select for the Japanese vita.
I don't mind it on a Nintendo console because where the o is, is where the A is on a Nintendo console for select. But for Sony consoles I'm so use to using the x as select which is why I have to have x as select on a Sony console. But my brain knows that's the button for a Nintendo console.
Iv just started paying attention to the vita last night. I'm 33 a gaming nutter. I'm really surprised how amazing it seems to be. Iv ordered a new white OLED edition. Can't wait.
@@maxplays9187 if I just go on eBay and have a good look you will find more than one brand new console. Not sure why people say there hard to find new cause it took me 10 mins. Might be cause I'm in UK I know ebay does hide some listings.
I want to see a screen comparison from a newer Vita slim shipped from Japan - China like yours vs USA Vita slim that was discontinued I think before 3.60 over here. Show a button - anolog sticks comparison. How do they feel on a newer slim Japan -China vs an older USA slim?
I’ve heard that if you buy a japan console that it will only show the Japan store and not the US store are you 100% positive that it switches depending on your account?
Late reply, but I'm American and own a blue Japanese PS Vita that I bought secondhand in Okinawa. I only see the US store, not the Japanese one. It also plays US games with no issues.
Yes, but it will not automatically change between the menu and games. You are customizing the buttons and switching circle and X. So I would only do this if a game doesn't feel right. Otherwise I would leave it alone for the menu because alot of games still act normally and if you switch the buttons then they will be switched on most games also.
I thought I had a US PS Vita, but circle is the select button on my system. My system came in a US box though and was bought from a local Walmart at the time. My Accessibility settings for button mapping aren’t changed either.
I. Got a ps vitta from Japan so I can play resistance retribution but it won't let me download it from the PS store?? It keeps saying error (NP-9948-0) did I get a useless ps vita??
not sure if you’ve figured it out but unless your willing to hack your vita you have to buy the memory card that is specifically for the ps vita which can be very expensive so i recommend modding
I have a ps vita 2000 EU a ps vita 1000 EU and a imported ps vita from japan with a jailbreak you can change with a pluging from autopluging hacked with vita deploy and henkaku. The performance and quality is the same. Ps vita is my favorite handheld is easy to custom the firmware and import psx psp n64 and many more it's a really emulation beast with good performance and with a CFW you got the full power of the vita
How do you tell the difference between them is it from the region code? Because some of the ones I’ve been looking to buy say region free what would that have to do with it?
What about the PSN store some people from 2016 are saying you can only log into the Japanese PSN store? is this correct? or can you log in to whatever region store you want as long as you have the account for it?
I have the black ps vita slim. Everything seems normal to me besides that switched button layout which is mo prob to remember. Just change everything in the menu on the vita and games. Got my brand new off Amazon
I’m trying to play a game (Daxter) and they switched the jump to O instead of X and I already changed it in the settings to swap x and o is there any way to swap it on gameplay ?
I would try to buy a new one because heavily used vitas can have short battery life and worn out analog sticks. But lightly used would be fine. So I suggest either trying a used one in person before buying it. OR Buying a used one on a website like amazon where if you are not satisfied, then you can get your money back without having to hassle with a seller.
Kindly brief me on this.. I saw a ps vita aqua blue, PCH - 2000 made in China written boldly at the back of d ps vita... But I thought ps vita is only made by Japan and US so now I'm seeing made in China
I have a Japanese vita and it came with the game Sword art online lost song and when I go into the game the main menu looks normal but when I go to the game settings it’s all in Chinese
I just got a ps vita slim and it’s set up as O for confirm and X to go back so I guess I got a Japanese version? Idk if there is a way someone may have switch it in system settings
I literally thought I bought a broken ps vita, because this is the first time I had a ps vita with the buttons switched around. I have kinda gotten used to it, but it can definitely get confusing. Like when you decide to mod it. 😅
Kèvín Ræ I don’t know, I bought this on Amazon for about $200. Even though its a Japan model, I live in North America and just bought it online. Sorry =\
Can please someone help me? I live in europe and own a playstation vita. If I order games from ebay , let's say from the USA will I be able to play them in my Vita??
Tony Troum Yes you will be able to play any physical vita game. they are not region locked like some other consoles. But a vita only holds one account. So for example, if you set your account to europe, you can only access the europe psn store. which isnt a problem, but some people like games that you can only get on the japanese psn store. But thats for downloadable games.
The charging brick should work on any voltage with no issues. Heck, you could get away with using a cellphone charging brick so as long as it spits out the right output voltage.
Yes, it is set to whatever region your account is set to. but it can only have one account (unlike a playstation 3 or 4 that can have multiple accounts.)
My dilemma: I want to be able to download GTA VCS & LCS on my vita. Im in the USA. However, I can only find japanese models. I know the cartridge games are region free, but What about digital? How would I purchase & download a US based game like gta vcs/lcs (since theyre only digital for vita)?
Gta VCS is no longer on the psn store...it got delisted some time back. Gta LCS and china wars are still available. Hack your vita to play VCS or get a psp
@@Nice_G Are you talking about Motion Controls? Like with a playstation 3 how in some games you can move the controller without touching the stick to control the game? I am not sure if the Vita has that.
