Awesome video!!! We have about 30 students per class and we don't want the students to see each other as it is distracting for them. Will you recommend the Zoom Webinar add-on? We also want to students to interact with the teach just not with each other. many thanks

Hey Chad!! Great video. I like the idea of interaction with audience; however, I do find that sometimes being able to see the attendees can be somewhat distracting. If they start speaking to someone else in the room or start eating, text, looking sleepy, whatever the case may be, it can be distracting for some presenters. We could always have attendees turn their videos off and mute them upon entry, correct? This way if the speaker wants to open up some dialogue they can request them to go on cam and audio. Is that correct?

Totally! I'm a big fan of deliberate video breaks or entering "podcast mode" for eating/stretching/whatever breaks 👍👍 I do also thing there is a time and a place for a webinar and text only interaction as well. The key is designing for SOME level of contribution though. Otherwise, "it" shouldn't be live. It should just be shipped as a recording so people can watch on 2x speed and save a half hour haha.

@chad.littlefield agreed!! So I guess my question is, with this mindset am I better suited to staying with my current subscription of Meetings instead of Webinars?? I questioned whether or not I should subscribe to Webinars. I have Meetings and don't seem to see a reason to add/purchase Webinars but wanted to be sure.

@@itsmeannmarie I can't offer a final recommendation for your specific situation here...but I can tell you that personally I use webinars as infrequently as humanly possible. In fact...I don't think I've done one in the last year, but I've hosted 100+ large group Zoom Meetings. So much more flexibility. You can always just have everybody turn off the camera...or even prevent it in security settings...and boom...you've got a webinar essentially haha. If you want to continue to dive deeper, you might enjoy my latest (video based) book (I know, ironic...): www.amazon.com/How-Make-Virtual-Engagement-Easy/dp/0996423958/

nice.. if i want to conduct polls during the session, i need zoom webinar? also if i want the audience to be able to download documents etc, I also need zoom webinar?
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield Год назад
Nope. You can run polls and now even a Q&A where people can "upvote" questions all right in a Zoom Meeting or Webinar. Downloading documents through the chat...you'll just need to test that. That has come and gone over the years as a feature it seems.

if you are giving information about something private like debt or finances for business owners, is it possible to be private in meetings? meaning the other participants wont know who else is in there?
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield 8 месяцев назад
Not in a Zoom meeting because everybody shows in grid view. In a webinar, yes it is possible. I believe it is the standard setting actually to not show any other folks info to other attendees. However...if they contribute in the chat, their name will be attached to each comment. Unless you make use of the Q&A feature where people can choose to be anonymous.

Hey not sure if this is of interest to you, but I am now part of a zoom club that allows me to get full 1080p recordings in zoom (pro accounts cap out at 720p) and allows up to 300 people in the meeting. This is a great way to get more features and not have to spend over 200 dollars just to get these features. For just 35 dollars a month, you keep the same login for zoom. If you are interested, let me know!

Honestly if you need to do breakouts, reach out to Zoom and see about increasing it to 100 rooms instead of 50
@chad.littlefield
@chad.littlefield Год назад
By default all Zoom Meetings can do 100 Breakout rooms now. This is new as of the recording of this original video.

@@chad.littlefield You are correct I forgot they made that the default for everyone you use to have to ask for it and I had had it enabled for years prior to the change so did not remember the change was made
