the FDIC said it has demanded in its letters that the five companies, their offices, directors, and employees, stop making misleading claims about FDIC deposit insurance and take immediate corrective action.

If you earned £100,000 in dividend income from stocks, you'd pay £19,907.63 in tax. If you earned £100,000 in salary, you'd pay £27,432 in income tax and £6,701 in National Insurance. Why aren't those two numbers the same? Or at a minimum, the tax component, setting aside NI?

yes, so if you have more than 250k, it would be wise to separate your money into more than one FDIC insured bank

FDIC is worthless. Federal Reserve and the US federal government should backstop ALL commercial depository institutes. There should be absolutely no need for a bank to fail in cases of bank runs. The 250k Limit was raised in 2008. If it was that easy to raise it, then there should be absolutely no limit on your deposits being insured .
