@@kyledavid9415 if you don't like it, don't buy it... It's not a scam because it gives the product it advertised. I'm not buying it because I don't want it and that's fine. Don't need to throw a fit over it lol
Cynthia round 3 from BDSP is a god. Fully IV and EV trained, competitive move sets and she has the AI on max. Its pretty brutal if you dont outlevel her.
People thought that Cynthia was going to be easy because of fairy types. I had a heart attack when round 1 had a Yache berry. It has to be illegal that only the elite 4 are stacked and the trainers before are casual. No one is normally going to make competitive teams for a regular playthroughs!
I had an Ampharos in USUM that managed to tank PHOTON GEYSER from Ultra Necrozma and one-shot it with Dragon Pulse. I don't know what that sheep was smoking, but it became instant MVP from that point onwards.
I was so confused when I beat Ultra Moon, and went online to see everybody complaining about Ultra Necrozma's difficulty, as it was one of the easiest battles I've ever faced. Little did I know that the Pokemon I just thought looked cool (Zoroark, Sylveon, and Kommo-o) were as strong as they were lol
Honestly, I used Zoroark during my Ultra Necrozma battle, not even knowing it was a great choice going into the battle. And this guy was trained all the way from being a Zorua from the early-game. I believe it did take a couple tries, but Zoroark definitely helped taking that beast down.
In Let's Go! Pikachu, I think your starter gets access to a move that's super-effective to Brock's Pokémon (because otherwise you goin' down--I remember the dental-exam-without-novocaine levels of pain that Yellow brought to the table...and yes, I did find a way to beat Brock WITH Pikachu)
@@tyrant-den884 True; be aware though that the only way you can get any money in Yellow is by defeating trainers. Eventually it gets to the point where your only source of income is by beating the Elite 4 over and over and over again.
Level 20 Alakazam is possible. Abra evolves at 16, and if you trade that level 16 Kadabra, boom. Level 16 Alakazam. It's just a terrifying Pokemon to have at Level 20 in a Generation 1 game.
Agreed. And considering how broken the psychic type was in gen 1 (essentially having no weaknesses due to being immune to ghost and the only damaging bug-type moves being Twineedle and Pin Missile, both of which were pretty weak)...having a Mewtwo or Alakazam basically meant you were literally "playing with God".
I've beaten the ultra Necrozma with a Zorua. Red in Pokemon Gold and Crystal in 2001 was the hardest npc for me. 9 years old, only ferialgatr at Level 65, I've lost many battles
I challenge level 4 with Bugsy being the worst gym leader of all time. Blaine in Red and Blue has four high leveled Pokémon with horrible movesets and used super potions when they are at full HP. He’s not a threat in the slightest.
@@ethandobbs , i think Brock's onix in the yellow version lacks the ground type. Inot full shure, but i remember landing a thunder shock against when a was young (besides geodude still be imune😓)
Or being at lvl 60 like him. With exp. share and facing every trainer before Ultra Necrozma, you can get 3/4 team members at lvl 60. I got Incineroar, Ribombee (it's risky but faster than him, at least mine was) and Magnezone at lvl 59/60 and was an OK battle, fair enough
Quick side note: You also have access to nidoran with double kick in Yellow. Which it gets around level 12. It can be found on the same route as mankey. (double kick usually worked pretty well for me against Brock)
Who's stronger: The literal protagonist of the first game with plot armor and 6 way overleveled Pokemon and the literal final battle battle, or one stone boi
The first time I took on Brock I did it with a level 16 pikachu that had been painful to grind up. The second time, I hit him with a Butterfree that knew Confusion and he went down like a bitch. I'm pretty sure in Yellow, that was a level 10 move. Absolutely trivial to get a caterpie up to that level.
I remember encountering that Onix later on, and completely God-stomped it in one move using either Mewtwo or one of my Mew (I have two). My Mew-Mewtwo team has 8 moves that are designed to offer nearly 100% super-effective coverage. Really the only Pokémon up to gen 8 that escape this are...Tynamo, Eelektrik and Eelektross, simply by virtue of being electric monotype with Levitate. They're pretty weak, so a couple of Aura Spheres, Psystrikes, or other neutral moves will turn them into a rather effective floor mop.
Mimikyu was my savior in the ultra necrozma fight. Disguise took one hit. High friendship let it live on one hp. And thanks to rotoluck, I pulled off two let’s snuggle forever z moves. Mimikyu now holds a special spot in my heart since then.
@@Ryanthemudkip honestly I don’t really remember what move it used to break the disguise. It’s been a while since that first fight when Mimikyu saved me.
@@PhantomsnowAlexa it has smart strike, which is super effective on fairies, so being a Pokemon ai, it probably just clicked that instead of the optimal move
I fell like the Nemona battle right before you enter Mezagoza should have been on here somewhere. That was one of the very few battles I lost. Though I do understand why it’s not. It’s just a watered down Ultra Necrozma, where if you know it’s happening, it’s pretty easy, while if you don’t see it coming, it will screw you over.
During my first playthrough of Brilliant Diamond, I actually had to purposely lose against Cynthia so I can go back and level my team up some just so I can have a better chance to beat her.
4:39 my advice how to defeat Brock in Pokemon yellow is to lead off with Pikachu have Pikachu weaken Geodude before Geodude takes it down and then have Mankey finish off Geodude in 1 or 2 hits and then it can can destroy Onix on its own easily.
That's the usual strategy. Either that or use Nidoran's Double Kick (I think both genders get it). And besides, defeating Geodude would get you a level or two if you're lucky. This would help you tank Onix that much easier.
It's silly how the Grovyle from the Route 110 rival fight isn't mentioned at all. Also yeah, Shroomish can take down Marshtomp, just bring a Guts Taillow for the foe's Shroomish. Against Brock, well I had the curiosity to go out of my way to Route 22, it's just that I didn't know about Low Kick. Besides it's not the only option, there's also Butterfree with Confusion and Nidoran with Double Kick (that one gets learned the most lately out of the three though). Besides if you still want to use Pikachu, you can brute force with Tail Whip along with Quick Attack. Also keep in mind that Onix's attack stat is meaningless.
internet was around during pokemon gold. including walk through guides. Also you can have a lv20 alakazam. Abra evolves at lv16 then you can evolve straight away by trade. but yes some of the fisherman’s other pokemon are illegal
I recently started playing Pokemon Yellow, and I can confirm that Brock is the toughest there is,the only way I beat him was by using Ratata to Tail Whip and Quick Attack his Geodude, and using Pikachu to use the same strategy on his Onix, and because Pikachu was taking damage from bide,I decided to bring out my Pidgey to Sand-Attack it to lower the accuracy and to also heal my Pikachu, that battle was hell and I felt so relieved after surviving it
the hardest battle for me was the red battle but I did it on the 10 try with only my feraligatr and when I was happy to get the shiny garydos then when i took 4 steps in the grass then I saw a shiny pidgeotto in pokemon heart gold....
IMO the fact that PLA doesn't have abilities or held items, the fact that catching and training high level Pokemon in the late game is simple, AND because Volo used hisuien Arcanine instead of milotic made him overall weaker than BDSP Cynthia. I had a team of level 80 pseudo legends and actual legends with maxed grit when I faced Volo, I had a team of under level 70 Pokemon with basically random EVs facing Cynthia.
Anyone who tried to get a Surfing Pikachu in Gens 1 and 2 would tell you that the Gambler from the Round 2 Prime Cup Master Ball in the original Pokemon Stadium is ridiculous. His Pokemon all have a move that either lowers Speed or causes paralysis, and at least OHKO move, with how effective they are based on Speed
Bruh, I had no idea who Veteran Trainer Taiga was when I first saw him in Festival of Champions. And now I've learned he's actually Veteran Shaun. I never knew this character existed; this guy is insane!
One of my fondest memories in Pokemon is realizing that Red's Snorlax on Pokemon Silver simply couldn't touch a Ghost type. So I caught a Misdreavus, taught it Mean Look, Curse and Confuse Ray, and watched that lvl 2X little ghost thing completely wall the beast that had demolished all my other lvl 5X-6X pokemon on the previous fights. That was the first time I strategized at a Pokemon game, felt really proud of myself back then. Misdreavus is still one of my favorite 'mons because of that.
I love how you included pokemon stadium. :D It's one of my favorite games out there. You're right! Stadium can be a "cruel mistress" so to speak. Especially seeing as the RNG seems to be relentless sometimes (most notably in round 2). Allow me to nerd out a bit more: what really got me hooked on (both) stadium(s) was buying transferpaks and all the old skool games along with it. So I could build teams in r/b/y or g/s/c and then put them in stadium. And even trade with myself. xD It's loads of fun and I often revisit it with a new challenge for building a theme team for stadium.
Gamblers spamming Guillotine, Fissure and Horn Drill...and hitting EVERY SINGLE TIME! I've lost entire teams to that garbage. To put it into perspective, hitting any of those moves six times in a row has odds of 1:242 (that is, 242 failures on average for every success). Yet the game pulls this off far more frequently than that. Proof that the game can manipulate its OWN RNG! Or where just ONE Sand Attack from the AI and suddenly I'm miss-miss-miss-missing everything. I could spam Sand Attack on the AI, though, and they just hit me like nothing's wrong. "Oh, was I supposed to have accuracy nerfs? I didn't even notice." *Proceeds to land their fifth consecutive critical hit*
I remember trying to face Ultra Necrozma with my team not knowing what I was about to go in through.. But now that I'm more experienced, I managed to beat it!
I remember Going up against Ultra Necrozma for my first time, and I immediately started spamming Roto-boosts that I obtained throughout the game. I one-shot it with my Incineroar
I'm gonna die on the hill that Bugsy was actually a pretty decently tough challenge early on in the Johto games. That Scyther, if it gets enough Fury Cutters up is an absolute _menace,_ since you're not likely to have anyone who can reliably outspeed or outdamage it. As far as Gym Leaders go, the easiest I've ever fought was Wulfric...which stinks since I _really_ like Avalugg, and he seems like a cool guy
Guess I'm never getting shiny Zygarde. I don't wanna deal with that after going through the pain and torment known as Dialga. Also ice types can still be good against it, you just need to be lucky. Dynamax adventures is all about Luck and only a small amount is actual skill.
Tbf I still would've ranked Bdsp Cynthia alongside Volo If you went in unprepared and not knowing they have perfect IV and EV stats Shits fr tough af ~~(also without affection)~~
There is a fangame called PokéOne where you are forced into triple battles against trainers with up to EIGHTEEN Pokémon. Oh--and these Pokémon are sometimes *beyond* level 100.
There is a way to kind of "cheese" those triple battles: you can have up to two friends join you in that battle, so you can have your six Pokémon and six for each of your friends--18 on 18 triple battles. A full-on tactical wargame. Not to mention that the AI governing the NPCs in PokéOne are often deviously smart--they'll switch their Pokémon if they sense YOU trying to make a switch, and will often "out-outmaneuver" you: you switch into what you think is a type or speed advantage...only to find out the AI countered by doing the same exact thing! Yes, in PokéOne, the AI does have the ability to read your entire team layout--movesets, what move(s) you're going to use, types, held items, abilities and even natures. Even scarier--the AI in those high-level (sometimes higher than 100!) battles will also use Pokémon who always have maxed out IVs and optimized EVs. Even worse than that: there are battles in holiday events that have "cruel" versions where the AI is allowed to have up to 400 EVs IN EVERY SINGLE STAT, on top of being sometimes up to level 130.
I commented it on your top 10 video and I will mention it again. I think the male pokefan from the round 2 final Little cup battle in Pokemon stadium 2 should be on this list. He has a scyther and a chansey, two of the most broken pokemon in little cup at the time. If he uses scyther, you automatically lose the fight and have to try again. His chansey has counter and softboiled, which should tell you enough that any physical attack his chansey surives means an automatic one hit ko to your pokemon. He also has an elekid with thunderbolt, cross chop, ice punch, and psychic which is capable of hitting almost every pokemon super effectively and outspeeds pretty much every rental pokemon available.
I like how everyone is talking about cheesing a lot of these fights, but I only see 1 person saying they beat Volo with ease. Volo is the hardest main-series battle that isn't involved with glitches.
There’s a very easy way to beat Brock with Pikachu (albeit a fair amount of level grinding is required). First, use Double Team 6x. Second, use Tail Whip 6x. Third, use Quick Attack which will do decent damage due to minimizing Geodude’s defense (or, if you really want to go ham with level grinding, Slam works even better). Then do the same Tail Whip + Quick Attack/Slam combo again with Onix.
Bro ultra necrozma took me 21 tries back when I still had the 3ds.i was able to use incineroar and ko the ultra necrozma with the dark type z move,I don't know if incineroar was on roids or something but it definitely pulled it's weight, and this was after my boi slowing got destroyed.
Brock in Pokémon Yellow is extremely easy. Mankey isn’t the best choice either. The best choice is to catch a Nidoran(male or female, doesn’t matter) and train it up to learn double kick, a super effective move against Brock. When I first played it, I wasn’t aware of the Nidoran strategy, but I had a Butterfree that made it just as simple.
3:42 This was me. I first played Yellow in 2008-2009 as my first Pokémon game ever and I too had to take multiple attempts to beat Brock. 7:04 I only defeated Ultra Necrozma 2 years ago in my second Ultra Sun run because I bred my Milotic to know Mirror Coat.
There is greevil at the end of xd gale of darkness you have to fight xd001 then his full team of shadow pokemon which also have articuno zapdos and moltres its been a while but I'm sure that's how it goes or vice versa
@@ethandobbs probably over Ultra Necrozma because Zygard is definitely tougher to beat and origin Giratina at level 100 is stronger than a level 70(I think) Necrozma
Wild area onix is as much a challenge as you make it to be I was able to take it down with my krabby and newly evolved thwackey after exploring the wild area for a bit before motostoke
People never mention how hard Dusty is to fight at Sunset Stadium in Pokémon Battle Revolution. He chooses from six Pokémon, but always has Lucario on his team. The other two are either Vigoroth, Gabite, or Grovyle. It took me seven attempts to finally beat him.
Hardest battle is after going through Rock Tunnel with no flash or items and your pokemon are all at 1 HP and you get out at Route 10 and there's that Pokemaniac with the Cubone and Slowpoke right before you get to Lavender Town and despite your efforts he spots you and then you die and white out. And then you have to go through Rock Tunnel AGAIN LIKE SOME SISYPHEAN TRAGEDY i was stuck in that cave for one week
I think there is a way to lose vs Youngster Tyler. Spam Taunt. His Magikarp won't be able to use Splash and, since he doesn't have any moves unaffected by Taunt, he'll struggle. That may be a way to lose, I haven't tested it.
I paused the video cause I'm gonna guess that Whitney with her milktank is number one if not number one then very high up there. She kicked the shit out of me a lot when I was a kid. First time I ever had to grind.
@@fertileplanet7756 Admittedly my team were all level 85 or higher and also had max grit levels...I had started doing the dex right from the start so my team was over leveled even when I crossed the bridge in the Obsidian fields to take on Mai and her munchlax
@@fertileplanet7756 I do believe that even if my team was only level 70 I still wouldn't have had any problems...grit makes a massive difference during battles...also I never use legendaries during playthroughs. My team was Samurot, Infernape, Torterra, Gardevoir, Magnazone and Glaceon
volo... the thing that is making mi rage rn, I tried using 6 100 level pokemon that I brung from sword and shield and that failed worst than I did with the pokemon already there in the game I used
"Have a difficult time?!" Pfft- HAHAHAHAHA!! Not if you cheese Necrozma with Zoroark, like I did! For such a strong Psychic, it sure got duped real easily by a fox! Hah!
