I've always liked the theory that Peter is so good at making his suits because spiders are good at weaving their webs, so he got that trait but is instead weaving the fabric to make his suits
Actually, if Peter managed to create something physically impossible like webshooters, he could create these suits fairly easy. He wouldn't do the hard sewing way we're used to, he would literally make an entire new way that manages to be easier and cost effective. Most likely, the fabric in his suits was developed and built by him, so he might literally have tweaked the webbing to make each fiber. Yeah, that's some crazy achievement Peter accomplished.
I think the idea was instead of SRSM OR MCUSM who knew exactly what they wanted there suit to look like and planned it out TASM only vaguely knew what he wanted it to look like and kinda winged it and also had the most random materials to work with.
It’s funny how the premise of TASM was for Spider-man to be a bit more grounded, then they design one of the most complicated suits possible. I do like the visible seams and some of the messiness of the design. I especially like how the glove has a very visible seam and doesn’t just magically detach at the wrist. I’d also love to have a suit that’s more like yours in actual movies. Stuff that looks like it was made at home while still having a professional and appealing design. While I like the use of the MCU homemade suit, it also just doesn’t look as cool as other suits. I also really wish they’d actually make 7-piece costumes instead of having a onesie with entirely different costumes specifically designed to have the mask or gloves separated. It would add so much more to the character of the suit while still maintaining a sleek design. I also share in the hatred of the black and gold suit. It’s a stupid concept, has a stupid reasoning to exist, and only exists to sell more toys. I find it ridiculous that they made a practical suit for this design (which was painted over with CGI), but not for the beautiful ending suit (granted, it would have only been used for shot while the rest would be CGI regardless). What especially bugs me about it is how it raises so many questions. Does Peter have all that wiring pressed up against him when he wears it normally? Why are none of the systems damaged when he gets hit by lightning with the exposed wiring? How is he able to flip everything inside out, including the lenses, soles, and web-shooter nozzles? When I first saw the suit in the trailers, I thought it was the FFH suit with the outer layer burned off or something. But the actual reasoning just feels so stupid and impractical.
If the black and gold suit was actually the FFH suit burned off, that would have been perfect. Maybe Goblin bombs or Electro blasts, leaving only parts of the red still there.
That was my main problem with it. Between the sleek shapes, how shiny and rubbery it looks, and the textures, it looks like a higher quality super suit. It just looks wrong for the "grounded" take on Spiderman and for it being his first suit. It's too high quality and too "cool" looking.
I think you should have added the homecoming homemade suit. Without the moving lenses it's the most Spiderman looking one and the realest suit a teenager can make
What I like is, despite the irony of TASM being the hardest to make, I feel it adds a lot of character. For Tobey, it feels like Peter got good at costume making and then forgot about it, but for Andrew, it feels more like a characteristic. The suit looks the most homemade for a "non-homemade" suit, he makes his own web shooters, he upgrades the suit between movies to fit his development, and even TASM2 has him upgrade it again so neither he or his web shooters gets electrocuted by Electro. It just adds a lot for me.
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see TASM2 as an upgrade to TASM1. Except for the webshooters, which Gwen was the one that did it for him, the suit doesn't really do major favors. I mean, he got tasered in TASM1 and for some reason that didn't damage his webshooters, but Electro does in TASM2. Lizard rips through his suit in TASM1 and Electro also manages to do that in TASM2. I guess Peter just never learned with his mistakes.
To be fair, in defence of Andrews Peter, it was mentioned in both the second ASM2 game and the prequel comic to the movie that he didn’t make his god like TASM2 suit but instead Gwen made it for him afther his old suit got to messed up for repare.
Yh and he should also be FILTHY RICH using this logic💀. He's BEYOND Tailor level in suit making and can give the highest paid Costume Designers in the Movie Industry a RUN for their money😭
I actually made an MCU Homemade suit before the movie came out by using an action figure I got from Walmart as reference. The only part I couldn't figure out was a good way to get the white on the lenses. The most interesting thing I did was use one of the sleeves I cut from the red hoodie to make the mask.
Yeah, I’d say that is the easiest suit to make. I know it has the FFH suit’s line work in the best pictures we have, but I think that’s just concept art.
@rexman72 The lines, fabrics, logos, lenses, and webbing have yeto be fully shown, and confirmed. Hopefully, they actually look mucheaper than before.
Andrews home made suit is realistic until you realize he could have just made the suit he has later in the movie already, but anyways, I do like the fact that the mask is simplistic, all he was trying to do was conceal his identity, he wasn't trying to be Spider-Man yet.
@@claytonschmohe1786 Nice. I probably could’ve gotten away with a compression shirt, but I went with a Morph Suit. The Face shell has been the hardest part for me. and yeah the hoodie is exactly Why I went for it
@@solvemproblerstudios5889 makes it super easy. I've got a 3D printer that I tried to use for a face shell but when that didn't work, I managed to make one out of EVA foam. Still printed the frames for the eyes tho
@@claytonschmohe1786 I bought some lenses online, but the EVA foam is what I’m struggling with right now. I’m gonna do it but I just need to set aside time so that I can fully focus on it- no half assing.
Fun fact: The original 1999 script of the first movie had a complete alternative way of Peter making his suit after he made the sketches. He buys 2 separate spandex bodysuits (one midnight blue and the other crimson red color,) cuts and stitches them together, draws spider webs all over it with a cartoony logo on the front and back. And cuts the mask for oval shape eyeholes with the lenses were made out of white mesh. Yes, we could've had a suit directly from the comics. And almost pre-dating how most cosplayers make their suits. No silver webbing with edgy sharp logos and lenses, no black bands, no honeycomb patterns, not high tech, just a simple, cheap, colorful suit a poor kid would've made that's nearly a perfect adaptation of John Romita's work. Why wasn't that in the movie is beyond me.
@@LAJIRAFA66_ALT that's your opinion. I respect it but disagree. Classic suits like the ps4 classic suit will always be cooler than say the raimi suit imo. Both are awesome though. I just love the classic spidey variations in general
peter would just put on some sweat pants, a zipper hoodie, a ski mask, sneakers, gloves and triangular shaped goggles with web shooters because there wouldn't be much time as he needs to save the city
The NWH classic seems to not be too bad, Marker for the webbing and the blue parts Im pretty sure is the same fabric, but 3-4 different textured versions just sewed together. You would need a mannequinn though to sew it correctly.
I personally like the TASM1 homemade suit, it’s so incredibly bare bones. The reason why i give it a pass is because Peter was already working on the main suit, the crappy mask and sunglasses were just temporarily and he knew that. He just needed something temporary while he made the main suit.
The only difficult parts of that would be finding rubber boots that match, finding a red leather belt at all and finding out what the fuck those lenses are supposed to be
I would love to see a Peter which starts out with a crappy spandex and slowly upgrade as he earns money from his job at the bugle, meet new people who may gain ideas and skills from
Hey pro tip for cosplaying as spider man use a swim cap to make your head shape fit the mask while keeping the facial features intact I honestly don't know why studios don't do this makes it look just as good with the face mold they use with the bonus of keeping facial features through the mask like in the comics and take way less time only works with separate mask from spandex though
Im gonna put the Raimi suit in "painful" because a REAL réplica of the suit its hella difficult to do. The TASM2 suit actually its not too hard to make, the points you say are hard in the TASM2 suit actually also are in the Raimi suit and the Stark suit/ Parker suit.
Yeah most movies just write it off. In the TASM 2 video game, the description of the TASM 2 suit just said Gwen made it at oscorp. Someone her in the comment has already pointed out that the Raimi suit was made by a professional tailor he met during his wrestling event. I assume he just to that guy every time he got an updated suit (like SM2, SM3 and NWH). Andrew could’ve probably made his first suit but not without a fuck ton of free time and toms suit we’re mostly shown to be designed by people who are not him. Tony did the stark and iron spider suit. A like billion dollar worth fabric machine made toms FFH suit. Toms Peter could’ve probably just altered the suit between FFH and NWH himself without any problems, it’s just removing the belt that holds nothing. The integrated suit was just made by combining nano technology with the updated FFH suit. If Toms peter would’ve made the NWH final suit himself he wouldn’t have gotten it for under 1,000$ at least. I assume he just combined some integrated suit parts and made them something new
I honestly think the stealth suit is the coolest and one I would make/wear if I ever did a spidey cosplay. It’s all the tac gear and ninja/Batman aesthetic for me ngl. love it
Actually for Tasm 1 Peter bought a spandex costume with a ready pattern and zips, he only painted the logo and broke his glasses and watch for the lenses and the Web shooters. It's kinda believeble cause I found an under armor termo that is with the exact pattern as SM suit. It even have some squares on it that can go for webs
Yeah, the ultra-high quality costumes always ruined the immersion just a bit because theres no way he could have made them. The crappy homemade ones are exactly what they'd look like.
Truth. You can be way more exact with Tom's suits since the webbing can be done with a marker and a ruler, while the other ones… oh boi A lot of days for just the boots alone
Toms is harder because it costs more, Pete's poor, so films wise to eat or Andrew's honestly fits way better than toms, spray paint and something in your closet is cheaper than all of the shit Tom has on his homemade costume
I’m planning on making a video on making a amazing Fantasy 15 suit, it’ll probably be a few years because I bought the wrong size suits and procrastinating buying new suits
I remember in the bts of spiderman 2002 his lenses were sculpted from clay, id assume he did the same thing for his frames then upgraded them in 2004 with resin casting (If we pretend the novelization didn't exist & just from a movie to movie jump)
I’ve always just thought of Peter being decent/having some level of sewing/tailor skills. He grew up pretty poor as shown from the Raimi film where May and Ben have bill issues so I just assumed if he had clothing issues he would have to sew it up himself. After enough trial and error he could pull off making his suit with the past knowledge of repairing his clothes and probably backpack.
You know, i always loved andrews spiderman as the first tasm movie showed (in my opinion as a broke suit maker) the most realistic one to make with how little money they had, for the lenses, sure they didnt look spiderman accurate, but cmon man, it looked like he actually made it with home materials, the lenses look like he used sunglass lenses that he just dremeled, which he would aquire from being a very techy, and the fabric looks like he just bought a red fabric with an enlongated hexagon pattern, and for the blue fabric, its just blue spandex with hexagon, and the rest he couldve just puff painted it. I mean they did great at capturing the homemade part in that suit. And i love that they show him sewing the suit to show him making it
I never understood the view that peter couldn't make a high quality suit. This man designed and built his web shooters and constantly makes suits/suit upgrades to aid him in defeating certain villains. Of course he can make a high quality suit The edit was correcting a typo
Have you ever thought about how it's just called "Joann Fabrics"? There should be an s in there and I hate it. "What'd you do yesterday" "Oh, I spent some time in Joann then I went to the sh--" "You WHAT?"
Watching Andrew Garfield's 1st Amazing Spider-man movie. Ya believed that he made his suit from scratch. Especially when he overheard the two guys talking about a latest suit that was made. Inexpensive and easy to use.
tobeys spiderman would most likely be the hardest cause of the lines sticking up, the shaping, and that texture. especially if you made it movie accurate
when I read the title of this video, a genuine thought that I had for like two seconds before I realized how stupid it was is “ well obviously it’s peter’s” 😂
