It's fun to use your cool knives. I understand why someone would want to keep a certain model pristine or whatever but just buy one knife to keep pretty and get a duplicate to use!

The thumbstuds and ram lok switches are works of art and until you've felt them (I have) you can't realize how great they work/feel. It really seems to me to be about as perfect as it gets for an edc blade for all purposes. Especially if you like tactical and xl knives

I might have to get one of those. I’m really tempted to get it as an analog to the Spyderco Chieftain in XTS-XHP Orange G10, I think the two are similar in size and much better cutters than the typical OTFs. It’s an interesting knife and I don’t necessarily mind Microtech’s M390 in the SBD or the Makora. It’s softer than I’d like, but this does somewhat improve chip/break resistance and it’s very corrosion and wear resistant. Not fun to remove damage from, but it will stay usable sharp at 15 degrees per side for quite some time, even at the relatively soft and ductile HT they give it.

If you look closely, the socom elite has an internal stop pin, which is why microtech added the extra screws to hold the pin. That's why there is no wear on the aluminum frame.

That’s an interesting disconnect. I wonder if there’s a distinction between OTF collectors and the rest of the line.

I definitely have my Microtechs that I’ve used the crap out of and I wouldn’t trade them. I also have my “reserves” that I keep nice and new, I’ll use them if i need too or I’ll trade em if i find something I like better.

Almost got a stich auto not ram lock. The videos of the disassembly made me change my mind. No barring or bushings just blade on pivot and spring. Also the no internal milling. Oh and the guy pointing out the thick blade stock is for show or it has weak spot i forgot.

nah, overbuilr still needs- multiple deployments LC200N: steel liners, hardware, buttons, pins Zirconium Backspacer, Pivot Zircuti Pivot Collar Zirconium/LC200N Ball Multi Row Bearing System DLC Blade Cerakote or Zirconium handle and THEN size 😂😂

Yea but what kills me is the blade steel. Why make a frame and lock strong and use a weak steel? You will have a strong handle with no m390 left lol

There are some Chinese knives are truly overbuilt and overly engineered. Maxace sandstorm or maxace hephaestus, reate t1000. Microtech is nothing compared to those big boys
