What is the optimal way to diversify an economy? 

In a world where the probability that a region will enter a new economic activity increases with the presence of related activities, one of the main challenges of regional economic development is to identify the activities that a region should target.
New research from the Collective Learning group at the Media Lab has developed algorithms to identify the optimal economic activities to target at each time step.
