Amen and thank you Pastor Donnie for speaking out! Worship and prayer begins first in the lives of every believer who desires to follow God and His Word - this is Monday to Saturday, being in the presence of the Lord and His Word. When the believers meet on a Sunday, there should be a beautiful explosion of true spontaneous worship and praise to God, coming from the core of our spirit, going up as beautiful incense to the throne room of God. Westernized and/or institutionalized Christianity has evolved over the years (and I watched this as I grew up in the church and stayed in the church all my life) into providing entertainment, trying to crank up the congregation to clap their hands, dance, move, and to engage in all sorts of antics to express worship to God, and the notorious Charismatic Mega Church movement fueled this deception by adding the props on the stage, sophisticated instruments, putting together the worship team and recruiting the best singers and musicians, massive screens, latest worship songs- all this to provide the congregation with the ultimate worship experience. This is why to this day religious Christians crave 'the experience' which is like getting their Sunday morning fix and then go home and from Monday to Saturday go back to being their usual carnal, secular selves and then enter church again on Sunday morning, enjoy the beat and rhythm of the worship band, get your fix and get on a high....!!!!..get goosebumps, feel light headed, all the brain chemicals pumping you up with feelings of ecstasy and joy....!!!....the church competes with the clubs, people also go there to get the same feelings. This is why the church is in a pathetic, ineffective, dead state because of this shallow, superficial way of worship and not to even mention the preaching. And you wonder why a survey has shown that more than 80% of the people who attend New Age fairs are Christians - why? because they are seeking more, more of this spiritual experience - more of this spiritual high!!!. When you as a genuine believer accept Jesus as your Savior and as you walk with Jesus, you start to learn more and more about who HE is, about God, our awesome Creator, the Holy Spirit and you become grounded and anchored in God's Word and you see God's miraculous power at work in your life - no one will ever need to motivate you to worship or praise God, it will come out of your spirit, through your mouth as natural as breathing. The greatest worship anyone can render to god is how we treat each other,simple as that i:e that which you have done to the least of these,do you also unto me.

That why it's so important not to mix secular artists with gospel artist when working on an album or giving a concert. What you trying to achieve? Do you want the spirt of The Lord to be there and change lives or is it just the hype and emotion we want? Pastor donnie is so right. The so called gospel music we have today is strange fire before The Lord....
I must be truthful. After the show (Sundays Best) a few weeks ago, I was a little hot and disappointed with both Pastor's Donnie McClurkin and Kim Burrell for the way they handled the young brother. Just my personal point-of-view. Nevertheless, I must admit. I enjoyed him in this clip. As with me and others. One unwise action or mistake should never override the real "us". He is an anointed man of G-d, and it showed in his teaching here. The whole session is good, would love to purchase entire recording.
take a look at JESUS CULTURE,kim walker,steffani frizzle they are doing something we are not..thats the answer..im a 26 african american and I'm not really feeling gospel worship music,i use to love gospel music but when i heard jesus culture, and belthel i was on the floor for hours...check those artist out
Pastor Donnie, you truly are a Godsent. I never realized how anointed you are and full of wisdom. The Lord is not respect of person. What He has done for others, He will do for you. Your testimony has freed so many. I just know you are that ram's horn the Lord has called for a time such as this. Know this we overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the Words of our testimony.
