That is such a beautiful explanation. Thank you Swami. I want to add that, as the lion in the dream is a refference to a real lion like force acting in thr dream plan, Maya may exist in refference to a more real state of being "outside" the causation plan we experience, being transffered to our reality by an unknowable "proccess". I use quotes because "outside" our reality these concepts probably don't meet correlates, even the concept of concept may be wrong or insufficient to try to describe it. But I have this intuitiom our Maya lion-ish reality may be a reffernce to "something" else. No appearance comes from nowhere. It is assumed in relation to something more real, at least as long as our reality is somewhat analogue to an upper reality from where it derives, as the dream is analogue to the upper woken up state.

Space time and causaality are fundamemtal prerequisites for experience itself according to the Kantian system. I suppose that is why his system also has the Brahman like concept of noumenon, a sort of transcendental experiencer. Hegel and Schopenhauer associated this noumenon with mind. But there is not the same analysis of the true depths of self in these systems as in the Advaira system. Very interesting.

The speaker danced all around the question, but did not answer it. He first tries to invalidate the question with word jugglery, indicating the question is wrong itself, and concludes there is no answer. This reasoning is the same bluff, as when scientists try to claim that the origin of the universe, was from an initial chunk of matter that exploded (big bang theory) but they cannot explain the origin of the chunk. They can't answer, so they ignore it. Same here; without an origin maya to be known, the speakers "answer" is you have to ignore it - you can't question maya origin or cause, because it is the cause. So maya is more powerful than Brahman, considering that we can assume we are brahman in theory, but maya keeps us from realizing it? Its a total cop-out to say you will know it all when you are realized, and it won't be important anyway. If one wants to stop suffering, which is caused by maya, then wanting to know how why maya was created, is legit. The given answer is here basically the question is maya, as caused by maya. It's not an answer. The Vaishnava answer is found in Brahma Samita 5.44-45, with the function of Lord Shiva as well: TEXT 44 sṛṣṭi-sthiti-pralaya-sādhana-śaktir ekā chāyeva yasya bhuvanāni bibharti durgā icchānurūpam api yasya ca ceṣṭate sā govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi Translation The external potency Māyā who is of the nature of the shadow of the cit potency, is worshiped by all people as Durgā, the creating, preserving and destroying agency of this mundane world. I adore the primeval Lord Govinda in accordance with whose will Durgā conducts herself. TEXT 45 kṣīraṁ yathā dadhi vikāra-viśeṣa-yogāt sañjāyate na hi tataḥ pṛthag asti hetoḥ yaḥ śambhutām api tathā samupaiti kāryād govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi Translation Just as milk is transformed into curd by the action of acids, but yet the effect curd is neither same as, nor different from, its cause, viz., milk, so I adore the primeval Lord Govinda of whom the state of Śambhu is a transformation for the performance of the work of destruction. A vision was granted to him of the spiritual realm, from which he composed the prayers mentioned above. The realization will correspond to the nature of one’s faith. The people of the world act ceaselessly in pursuance of some ideal. By meditating on Me by means of those deeds one will obtain devotion characterized by love in the shape of the supreme service. TEXT 62 ahaṁ hi viśvasya carācarasya bījaṁ pradhānaṁ prakṛtiḥ pumāṁś ca mayāhitaṁ teja idaṁ bibharṣi vidhe vidhehi tvam atho jaganti Translation “Listen, O Vidhi, I am the seed, i.e., the fundamental principle, of this world of animate and inanimate objects. I am pradhāna [the substance of matter], I am prakṛti [material cause] and I am puruṣa [efficient cause]. This fiery energy that belongs specially to the Brahman, that inheres in you, has also been conferred by Me. It is by bearing this fiery energy that you regulate this phenomenal world of animate and inanimate objects.” In conclusion, the cause of maya is Sri Krishna the cause of all causes. Maya manifests the illusion of separation from the service of Godhead, for those seeking to play God themselves. An arena of illusion has to be created (material universes) by Krishna/Vishu for the jivatama to play out the fantasy. When realizing separation from the service of Godhead keeps one in the cycle of material duality and struggle, in endless births and deaths, the jiva can choose to serve with love, the eternal Godhead, and be liberated and fully fulfill one's loving potential, as a willing servant of Supreme Personality of Godhead (Who is not maya, rather He is the creator/cause of maya, for the above stated purpose!)

So, this reality is a lucid dream after you know you’re Brahman

Why is there (the perception of) diversity? The perception of diversity serves the purpose of companionship. Companionship and friendship happen to be the most used words in the Qu'ran. In Christianity the word for companionship is Love. So that's the purpose of Life aka Self. It is to experience Companionship, Friendship, Love itself.

So in short. As long as you are questioning in order to realize you are brahman, questioning is good. As soon as you start to question nonsensicality of the whole thing, questioning becomes bad. How about Maya is the only world you can live in, there is no other and origins of questioning are a simple survival mechanism, which all of us are subject to. How about you are making your bread to survive in Maya world by playing spiritual teacher talking about samsara. How about you are living as an ego, a separate individual with unique name while preaching about ultimate self and ultimate reality. So what’s the point of all of this? OK, so I am ultimate reality and this all is just the dream. Well if I cut myself with knife it still hurts ME and not you, it is still this separate I that has to pay the rent.

I believe the greatest being is the one who doesn’t know. “I don’t know” is such a great state of being, where everything and nothing co-exists. The problem with us is to be ok in that state. Floating in space is not comfortable. By nature of the mind, we want to be attached to something..be it a body, an existence, anything because our mind needs a physical manifestation, a logic for the pause. 🙏 Namaste.

Swamiji are we actually exactly Brahman nor Brahman is our inner soul of all us? Which advaita are you saying ? This swamiji is giving lecture after knowing the world does not exist or before knowing doing this world is not exciting? Unless the teacher has realized he cannot help anyone. Swami vivekanabda never says in his advaita that world does not exist like sankaracharya. In all his lecture he concludes one God who is embodied in this universe.

Maya(Shakti/prakriti) is the part of the Brahman(Shiva/purusha). They were inseperable. Maya experiencing Maya with the base of Brahman.

If confused and mistaken, please forgive my ignorance: When Swami Sarvapriyananda speaks about causality, wouldn't the more appropriate question there be the 'how', not the 'why', in which case the latter in its deeper sense, arguably even beyond the realm of space-time and cause-effect manifestations or apprearances, remains a legit question to ask? Sincere thanks for the teachings shared in any case.

out of all the philosophies in the world, advaita is one insane philosophy which accepts the omniscient Brahman is in samsara and is trying to realize that He is Brahman

Jiva of Jagruth stithi (ie., viswa) is asking this question about Turiya. If he is in Turyia state, he cannot ask this question. Because, question doesn't arise as one merges with "THAT" and there is no "I".

In the dream nobody asks why is this dream. In life we are asking why this life. It proves this life is not a dream. We are not able to answer what the purpose of life is. That does not make the question unreasonable. When we ARE asking, saying "we CANNOT ask because we are dreaming" is unreasonable. It only means cleverly avoiding the question. Even Sw.Vivekananda had himself asked this question and clearly said, " I do not know the answer". He didn't say asking this is unreasonable. Only Shankar-vedantins say unreasonable things like this.

It's not the cause I want to know is the Purpose, that was the question not cause.

The life of "Your name here" is a game created by God for Its entertainment. Being that God is singular and Absolute, the structure of the game is that of a puzzle/mystery/labyrinth. It is designed this way because one cannot play a game that requires two. One person can't play tennis or football. So God created a puzzle/labyrinth that is partially self-generating. Heisenburgs Uncertainty Principle expresses how not even God can be certain of what and when something will happen. The goal of the game is to find conclusion/escape the game. The labyrinth partially constructs itself via where you place your attention. So in order to escape, attention must turn away from the labyrinth and focused inward. As your Awareness is the animating/manifesting force of reality, Maya is always trying to pull it outward onto the creation. It's like an internet algorithm that is designed to grab your attention and hold it. So the purpose of life is that it is a game designed by yourself (God) for your entertainment. The goal of the game is to find conclusion of the game. 🙏

A higher Truth Consciousness can solve this problem of Maya, Non-Existence, this world, I refuse to be subjected to this ageold conundrum of existence

There is no answer to this one of the fundamental questions in adwaita. Likewise there are many things that adwaita has no answers. As per Adwaita, You are not even Brahman , you are the Parabrahman itself. But you don't know. Why you don't know because of Maya. Under the influence of maya you dont know that you are the Supreme Brahman. That means the Supreme Brahman himself is trying to revive his own status by overcoming Maya. He himelf is still in the process of realisation. That means Maya is even superior than him. And also as per adwaita, This world is not real. No laws of nature. No law of conservation of energy. No gravitational law .absolutely nothing. Why bcos it's exactly a dream . When you wake up you dont see this existence at all. Vanquished . What about for others who have not yet enlightened.? They r still dreaming . No no. You are still dreaming .

there exists a purpose of life and these people are not able to tell it ,these people are making some nuisance psychological Chaos by saying some paradoxical statements ,for e.g. " yaa we know symmetry is ellipsoidal but that doesn't mean entropy should be trapped in the ellipsoidal symmetry " this is the statement which uncovers how galaxy works but you don't understand unless you are an astrophysicist, in a same manner these guys are telling some facts which common people won't understand , they will consider these people as psychologically addictive and their thoughts as breaking nurve between existing society and these guys ideal world , people won't understand the paradoxical statements and people will never believe in such nuisance talks unless your talk is ground touching , scrapping the need of society, there is a purpose of life and that purpose is "knowledge" "work" and "believe" ( ज्ञान , कर्म, भक्ती ) , and where to find these three purposes , well these are everywhere ,these three purposes make our life and we should be always enhancing these three skills , if you don't do it you will subconsciously enhance them or nature by itself will enhance these skills inside you , so even if you try to run away from your purpose nature will automatically enhance your skills , so it's your choice either you have to enhance your skills or let nature do it's job , there is one more thing which is harmful by product of these skills called Moh- maya , i.e. when someone don't understand the real product and fell for considering this side product as a real skill then he will loose his stability of life which nature was enhancing , so run behind enhancing these three skills in your life i.e. knowledge , work and belief , this is ultimate goal of every human being to have , just enhance them by your own otherwise nature will enhance automatically just find the difference between side product and the real skill and be a wise person to select your product

I permeate the earth and heaven, and all created entities with my greatness and dwell in them as eternal and infinite consciousness." -- Goddess Adi Parashakti in the Devi Sukta of the Rigveda, 10.125.8 Also, in the 4th chapter of the 1st book of Srimad Devi Bhagavata Purana, Goddess Adi Parashakti addresses the Trimurtis as follows: "I am Adi Parashakti. I am the owner of this universe. I am the Absolute Reality. I am dynamic in feminine form and static in masculine form. You have appeared to govern the universe through my energy. You are the masculine form of Absolute Reality, while I am the feminine form of that Reality. I am beyond form, beyond everything, and all the powers of God are contained within me. You must know that I am the Eternal limitless energy."

Pranamam Guruji. Advaita Vedanta says nonduality naming the creation as Maya the illusion which is unreal. Does this mean that this "Ahm Brahmasmi Tat Tavamasi"? I am Brahmam and nothing other than Brahmam? Then why this illusion of creation and by whom this illusion when nothing exists.

The purpose of duality is for experience (without duality there can be no experience) and to get knowledge of Self which culminates in liberation. This is called bhoga and apavarga.

It is like saying big bang happened and universe is expanding, with everything coming out as manifest and similarly when entire universe collapsing into one tiny black hole with infinite mass and infinitesimal space withdrawing itself into unmanifest yet ever present in the form absolute, conscious & bliss or Sat-Chit and Ananda. This is the nature of Shiva which again applies to Atman.
