Good vlog! I'm a Royalist myself and was there this time on all 3 days. My batch tent was "The Blazers" You guys haven't covered much of the Royal tents!!! Next time I guess 😏 overall, excellent job and keep it up! This Roy-Tho will go in history as the first ever big match which survived a global pandemic with a very narrow corner... Cheers! 👌🏽
Oh boy. This brings back many happy memories to an old old Royalist, long departed from the island. Of course this doesn't include the terrible hangover & missing the pre lunch session on the second day , having over indulged on the first as a16 year old. Some things have changed as in you wouldn't have seen a Thora prefect carrying a Royal flag & vice versa during my time. All to the good & nice to see that the spirit remains.
As a past cricketer and as someone who has played one of the biggest of big matches in Sri Lanka, the most entertaining moment of the video was where I heard little bit of 'that's what I like' 😍😹
haha. yeah the cricketers might not be too happy with how we documented this.:) cause there is very little of the game & its traditions, but then again there are only 22 of them on the field. and some 40,000 odd who are there for the atmosphere which was what we wanted to show in this vlog. :)
@@shehaan23 haha I guess theres nothing to be offensive. The match was telecasted/streamed live and if someone wants to watch it you can literally stream it. This vlog was cool af and this is how it should be done ❤
Brilliant vlog! Missed the Roy Tho last few years. Remember in schooling days buying a 20 rupee ticket for boys tent and ending up in Grand stand during the lunch brake. By the time we got to sataurday have visited all the tents 😂.
If you show this to the vast majority of Sri Lankans you'd have a resounding, "Gaanu lamai arakku bonawa, beer gahanawa, cigerete bonawa, ganga gahanawa, baageta andegena natanawa, ape sanskruthuya iwarai, maw baashawa katha karanta wath baa..lajjaii blah..blah...blah..." Now don't get me wrong I vehemently oppose such views but it is what it is, this is how the overwhelming majority of Sri Lankans think.
@@malakagirley person I think you misunderstand me, I love Shenelle! Do you know what vehemently oppose means? If you peruse any amount of Sri Lankan videos done in English you'd find a barrage of disgusting comments ridiculing the preenter of the video! I oppose such actions!
he forgot to mention that the whole reason there is a big match is due to back in the day both royal and thomas had both solid blue flags and the first ever big match was played to select the school which got a golden strip [ school which won] or the black strip [school which lost].

@@buthmeefernando9489 People like Shenelle are the 1 %'ers of Sri Lanka, she's schooled at a top notch international school in Colombo, probably residents belonging to a posh suburb, and I assume most of her friends speak English as their first language and have rarely watched a Sinhalese soap or film. And there is nothing, absolutely nothing wrong with that! They are no more any less Sri Lankan than a villager from Anuradhapura but the majority can be very harsh in their criticism which usually comprises of shockingly vulgar language and insults! I've had friends of mine post English videos on RU-vid only to be berated with insults like, "Thota Sinhala barida? Suddanta puka dunnama ohoma thamai! Ane ape ratata me mokakda wenn...willi lajja nathuwa heluwen innnawa etc.." THEIR MINDSET IS DISGUSTING! They are very judgmental and cruel! There's no changing this mentality! Shenelle seems like a fantastic and happy person, she's a very talented presenter that makes the viewer feel as if they are right their with her! I've only discovered her recently and I love her vlogs, but I fear what might happen when this channel blows up in Sri Lanka. I hope she's ready for the barrage of disgusting comments coming her way. I do my part by returning such evil people in kindness.
@@noclickbaitrecipes7565 she has been in the Industry for a while and I think she has tough skin. She doesn't deserve it yes, but I think she knows it comes with the territory. She is true to herself and that's all that matters! That's one of the reasons I like her too. She doesn't try to fit into the "influencer" narrative of Sri Lanka and stays authentic. I wish her well too!
Not too bad, but could've been better. For one thing, it was very one-sided (Thomian), with very few comments from the other side. Understandable to a point, since Shehan(?) is a Thomian, but being professional Vloggers and doing something about such an event, should've been more neutral. You guys could (and probably should) have spoken to the organizing committee before-hand and got "Media" passes, giving you'll full access to all the tents / all areas, thus covering more and getting a better, more comprehensive look at the whole event. You guys could have also spoken to some of the organizing committee members and with the media passes, could've spoken to some of the VIP's as well. So as I said, not too bad, but could've been better. Just my 2 cents.
