This topic is my favorite section of Scripture to meditate on. Love every syllable of it: Jesus river of life, the animal sacrifices, the Temple complex, the staff operating it, the prince making sacrifices, just amazing stuff. Love every word.

Why would Jesus foresake his own sacrifice in the 1000 years by having burnt offerings and animal sacrifices. If this is so then his sacrifice would not mean for all time. It just does not make any sense at all. HIS sacrifice is for all time. Non of this was addressed in the video.

@@brianredmond4919 So I want to make sure I understand your line of reasoning here. I think you're saying (and correct me if I'm wrong) that if those words in Ezekiel "to make atonement for the people", mean that the sacrifices are for making atonement, that would contradict the book of Hebrews. And since there can't be any contradictions between the old and new testaments, therefore those words in Ezekiel must not mean that the sacrifices are for making atonement. Is that what you're getting at?

Its purpose is to serve as the Millennial temple which Christ will sit in as King over the whole earth. You may be thinking "hey, WE are the temple today" and that is true but these are not church age events, they are in the millennial reign. Our home and worship will be in heaven, but this temple will be where the nations of the earth worship, the earth will be made up of people born in the Millennium, not redeemed saints. We will reign as spiritual kings with Christ over the nations just as promised. If you look at the details of the holiest of holies, there is no veil, no lampstand, no shewbread, all the symbolic items pointing to Christ are gone because HE will be there. This is clearly designed as a POST cross temple which is what a millennial temple would be. They key functions are around the feast of tabernacles, which highlights the finished work of Christ after Armageddon. The partial sacrifices that do happen are a memorial of His work, and there are no more sacrificial duties in the holiest of holies which was key in the OT law. Once a year every nation will have to send a delegation with offering on the feast of tabernacles as written in Zech 14. The temple will serve as the central point of worship in the whole world.

@QueMari
@QueMari 4 года назад
Joseph Eidsvik No, the Millennial Kingdom is not mentioned verbatim in Ezekiel. But we should interpret scripture using scripture to see the bigger picture. The Bible tells us to do this in Isaiah 28:10. Ezekiel 43:5-7 God tells Ezekiel that this temple will be “the place of his throne” and “the place where the soles of his feet will be”. God mentions in this same passage that this is where he will dwell among Israel FOREVER. Yeshua comes to reign in Jerusalem for ever beginning with the 1,000 year kingdom. Until then, he remains in the Heavens. (Acts 3:21)
@josepheidsvik7083
@josepheidsvik7083 4 года назад
@@QueMari "Forever" in Hebrew does not mean "forever" the way we understand it in English like Buzz Lightyear's "to infinity and beyond". "Forever" in Hebrew simply means lasting beyond the generation then living. This is the reason why the book of Sirach mentions the temple built by Zerubbabel to be an everlasting (lit. "forever") temple (Sirach 49:10-12). There are many many examples of this in the Bible. Therefore, this does not cause one to force the interpretation of this prophecy into Jesus' future return. Also, if we are still waiting for this prophecy, then we are waiting to see if Ezekiel is a true prophet or not. Not a good road to go down for those of us who believe the Bible.
@QueMari
@QueMari 4 года назад
Joseph Eidsvik Well I could definitely be wrong. I don’t claim to know everything but I’m always willing to learn. As I just looked up, the word for “forever” in Hebrew is “olam”. The Hebrew meaning of it is “until an age” or “till the end of a long period of time”. So that makes sense. If you really look at it, the Millennial Temple won’t stand for all infinity either way, because afterwards the Heaven and Earth pass away. So that means Yeshua will dwell in that temple “until the end of that age”.

Ezekiels temple (ch 40 - 48 ) speaks of animal sacrifice being part of the restoration , indeed as atonement for sin. How can that relate to Revelaton when God and the Lamb are the temple (Rev21v22) and Heb 7v11-21 stating how Christ, our High priest, replaced the Levitical order in Ezekiel?
@povoq83
@povoq83 7 лет назад
We are supposed to join the priest order started by Melchizedek. We are the priests of the millenium. The book of Ezekiel calls us the sons of Tsadok. Like Tsadok was the priest of king David, we are to be the priests of Jesus. (In Ezekiel Jesus is called the prince). The sacrifice of Jesus is for now, we remember it untill he returns. After his return salvation will be obtained by animal sacrifices, just like in the old testament. Read Ezekiel 44:10-16 and Isaiah 66:21 to understand the difference between the Jewish levites and the sons of Tsadok and how God takes people from the nations and call them Levites. God Bless you
@YeshuabenJoseph
@YeshuabenJoseph 6 лет назад
There is no return to a sacrificial system mentioned in the Bible. The passages you have mentioned here do not refer to the future. Ezekiel does not call us "sons of Tsadok", he only refers to those who were actually descendants of Tsadok.

The Messiah Yeshua (Jesus) sacrifice for sin is not the same concept of animal sacrifice. The feasts consist of sacrifices in Leviticus. Everything relates to our Messiah, including the feasts. We know that sacrifices will take place BECAUSE WROTE IT IN SCRIPTURE but our Messiah's sacrifice will atone for our sin. The Levite priests will continue. Yeshua is not a Levite. He is of Melchizedec. He will perfect the Levites because He is the Messiah and thus the fulfillment of the Torah.

It contains the Biblical account of how the human body works...or, at least, how it should work if we want to get our dry bones functioning properly again. The Holiest of Holys... is a refernce to our own spirit meeting up with our benefactor who is organising our return to our healthiest state and the Mount of Olives is a key component of our health which dries up those bones if we don't take Jesus Christ seriousy....ps...any one who doesn't believe that our Deity knows all about electromagnetic force should read Ezekial 1, again.

Why would we sacrafice lambs when the Lamb of God,the true and final sacrafice is there eating and dwelling? Seems like overkill...like calling mexican cheese dip Queso cheese...that's cheese cheese. These ppl that are led astray...well it doesn't seem that they have forgiveness of sins there for them because they are tossed into the lake of fire with Satan at the end of the 1000 years. What verses would indicate that the second temple did not fit the landscape? I have searched for these when others have suggested this but have not found any. I have scrutinized the text but nothing bears the designation that Ezekiel's temple was either larger nor more costly than Solomon's or Zerubbabel's temples.
@bobberry655
@bobberry655 2 месяца назад
An interesting question! The temple proper - ie. the Holy Place, Holy of Holies, and porch is larger in Ezekiel's temple than Solomon's, particularly when the enhanced cubit of Ezekiel is taken into account, but we are not given the size of the outer court in Solomon's situation to compare with the known dimensions of Ezekiel's outer court (500 x 500 cubits). However, there is a further wall enclosing Ezekiel's temple of 500 x 500 reeds before any urban development could occur. Moreover the temple is on the south side of a very high mountain in the Zion region, and from it a river flows eastwards into the former Dead Sea to rejuvenate it. The temple is to be separate from the city of Jerusalem, also the subject of Ezekiel's prophecy. That city is to be situated on the north side of a mountain, and south of the temple, and 4,500 reeds square (roughly 8 x 8 miles). Taking all this into account the current landscape could not accommodate such arrangement, but a future elevated and topographically altered landscape could (Zech. 14:10). The idea that Ezekiel's temple should have been built by the returnees from captivity in Babylon is unsupportable. Apart from the landscape issue, there is no rebuke from God that they failed to implement Ezekiel's design. Rather Haggai, Zerubbabel, and Joshua are encouraged by the Lord in the work of the inferior temple they were building (Hagg. 1:14), and Nehemiah was encouraged by the Lord to repair the city walls (Neh. 1:12; 6:16) - not to build Ezekiel's much larger and separate city. Writing several decades after completion of Zerubbabel's temple and the city of Jerusalem, Zechariah speaks again of the river of living water that will come out of Jerusalem (Zech. 14:8). That will happen after the Lord returns (Zech. 14:4).

Interesting that the Lord Jesus said in john 2 “ destroy this temple and in three days i wall raise it up” and the scripture says he was talking about his own body . I suggest that this has a double meaning as he did not argue with the jews about the 46 years but was alluding to his own building of the millennial temple in three days .

Here we have the covenant of grace because Jesus died. Covenants end at death, like a marriage covenant does. So when we die, the covenant of grace ends. When we die we go to the kingdom of heaven and have a different covenant. You can learn about the kingdom of heaven in Isaiah 65,66, Ezekiel 37-48 and Revelation 20-22.
@bobberry655

The very detailed dimensions should tell us that this is a literal temple. Other prophets also speak of that future temple and sacrifices. The Old Covenant has been done away with, but future sacrifices will be offered under the New Covenant, by Israel, this time with understanding of how they speak of Christ. (Animal sacrifices predate the Old Covenant.) Those sacrifices will atone, as did the sacrifices of the Old Covenant - but atonement is only to cover ceremoniously, and in no way militates against the truth that Christ's one sacrifice has taken away sins. When Heb. 10:18,26 says that there is no more offering for sin, it speaks of the sin offering on the Day of Atonement - that is the context there. Reading through the temple chapters of Ezekiel you will find resumption of the Passover/Unleavened Bread and Tabernacles feasts, but the Day of Atonement will not be repeated. It is failure to understand this that causes these chapters of Ezekiel to be closed to our understanding. The ordinary offering for sin, trespass offering, meal offering, peace offering and burnt offering will all be brought in that future temple, and are not included in the expression of Hebrews 10 "no more offering for sin". In particular, the meal offering, peace offering and burnt offering are not to do with sin anyway.
@skadoosh20
@skadoosh20 2 месяца назад
@bobberry655 the temple exists now on new earth (Rev 21-22), which is the kingdom of heaven. Jesus said in the first century that the kingdom of heaven was at hand. He told his disciples that he'd return quickly (Rev 3:11), in their generation (Matt 24:34). Matthew 25:31-34 says that when Jesus returned, he sat on his throne and gathered the nations before him. His throne is on new earth, Rev 21:5. When he gathered the nations before him, he divided the sheep from the goats. This dividing of the sheep and goats was judgement, the great white throne of judgement (Rev 20:11-15). So when Jesus returned, he set up his kingdom on new earth and he's been reigning there ever since. Two earth eschatology is first earth (us) and new earth coexisting. Isaiah 65,66 says there are mortals and immortals on new earth. It seems sacrifices are required of the mortals. Ezekiel 47-48 talks of huge amount of land, which makes since since this is where every soul in history goes when they die. The holy city itself, New Jerusalem, is about the size of India.

I take a literal approach to Ezekiel 40-48 but all contextual indicators tell us that this temple that he saw was the temple built by the exiles that returned from Babylon in 536 BC.
@Sigueme1
@Sigueme1 4 года назад
Not really , not even close, the geographical location is wrong, there are missing things such as no arc of the covenant, no holy of holies, no veil , no high priest , certain furniture has been changed and so on .. this cannot be a past temple can only be a future temple because God tells Ezekiel "it will be for perpetual (eternal) statute" . The second Temple got destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. I agree that it has to be literal but cannot be one of the old temples...even the arrangement of the tribes is at odds with the past in Ezekiel
@YeshuabenJoseph
@YeshuabenJoseph 4 года назад
What was the arrangement of the tribes when the exiles returned? We know that this was changing continually during the days of the Hasmonaens and the Herods. Also, the usage of "eternal" in the Hebrew does not always mean 'forever' like it does in English. It usually means a long period of time that lasts beyond the generation that was living. Finally, how do you know that the geographical location is wrong? We are told that Ezekiel himself would be the first to offer a bull for a sin offering in this temple (Ezek. 43:18-19), which would force this to occur in his lifetime.

Ellie Eidsvik Read Ezekiel 40 to 48 please, the conditions and procedures for animal sacrifice employed in this temple do not conform to Salomon’s temple or any other temple, you’ll immediately sense that this is a future temple , the king is missing and replaced with “prince” , there is no high priest on sight , the arc of the covenant is missing. In resume a plethora of bizarre conditions that tells us that such an edifice has never existed before. You need to go to 1st Kings and read the description of the temple and look at the differences. Also google the arrangement of the tribes of Israel and location of Jerusalem’s temple, then read Ezekiels arrangement of the tribes and location of the temple. No way Jose too many discrepancies
@YeshuabenJoseph
@YeshuabenJoseph 4 года назад
@@Sigueme1 The text tells us plainly that Ezekiel himself had to be the first to offer a bull for a sin offering on the day that the altar for this temple was built (Ezek. 43:18-19). Additionally, the Heb. 10:18 tells us that there is no longer an animal sacrifice for sin and there has not been an sin offering since 70 AD, so how can Ezekiel be offering a sin offering in the future? Ezek. 43:10-11 tells us that the selfsame people that would become "ashamed" of their sins would also be the ones to see Ezekiel "write in their sight" the design of the temple and be the same ones to build it. (The same wording is used in Ezek. 43:11 as in the construction of the tabernacle and 1st Temple; "make/do it".) Finally, in Ezek. 46:13-15 we find the usage of the 2nd person pronoun "you" referring to Ezekiel and his role at the inauguration of this temple. All three of these passages tells us that this temple had to, at least, be initially constructed during the lifetime of Ezekiel and therefore limits its construction to the 2nd temple.

@@YeshuabenJoseph Yes I get that , but you are ignoring the prophetic side of scripture, of course Ezekiel is mentioned as taking part on the temple ...this isn't rare for a biblical personality to be mentioned as being part of a future event..Elijah for example is supposed to appear again , in fact there are Jews that think Elijah will build the third temple. I think we can all agree that it's expected for Ezekiel to be raised from the dead at some point. The issue in all this is that there are significant differences between Ezekiels temple , the geographical arrangements for the tribes and so on , and any other temple that has ever been built. None of the previous two temples have been consistent with the description given in Ezekiel, neither Solomon's temple and certainly not Zerubabbel's temple which was significantly smaller, I don't think Herod's temple would fit the description either and even if it did , what about the bizarre lacking of the arc, veil , high priest, the king is now called "prince" hinting there is a KING above him (presumably Yahweh himself, and so on...too many discrepancies and then again the arrangement of the tribes is bizarre as well...this is NOT AN EASY PROBLEM TO SOLVE believe me many have tried. There is a "proposed' solution that implies the Temple was a vision of what would happen IF ISRAEL CONVERTED AND CAME BACK TO YAHWEH...it was conditional upon that happening and since they did not then the Temple and arrangements NEVER TOOK PLACE. There are MANY ISSUES WITH THIS POSITION but I'm running out of space. I'd suggest look it up for yourself. Cheers

I don't think it is figurative or allegorical. It was a genuine proposal by God to Israel if they would be ashamed (Ezek. 43:11) but they weren't, so God refused them their temple for burnt offerings. This temple was simply a plan that never came to fruition. Jesus is the ultimate sacrifice and no sin offerings of burnt animals will please the Lord. Put it this way; if you are right and this is yet to happen then all the Torah Observers will be right and the 'Saved by Grace gang' will be wrong. This is critical. Read Ezek 43:11 and examine the wording as to the 'if'. Thank you

The details of the temple prove this is a POST CROSS temple. There is no longer a veil in the holiest of holies, no ark, no shewbread, not lampstand, all the the pre cross symbols are gone. The OT sacrificial laws could never be practiced in Ezekiel temple without those items and an ark to sprinkle the blood on. The text PROVES this is a temple that is designed for AFTER the crucifixion and resurrection. That is one of the many ways we know this is the Millennial temple. People understand the basics of the OT sacrificial system do not yet understand this basic point.

Ezekiel's temple prophecy is a promise from God to have a Prince-King-Messiah to be King of Kings ruling forever! Prophet Ezekiel, who was called son of man, prophesied about our coming 3rd and final temple in Ezekiel 40-48. The Bible clearly states; we will be ruled by a Prince-King named; David that will last forever (Ezekiel 34, 37). The new testament verifies this in Luke 1:32-33 Ezekiel 40-48 - shows explicit details about the 3rd and final temple. The ingathering of God's people that Jesus started will be completed. All 12 tribes will be back in Israel. Prince-King-Messiah will bring restoration to God's Holy Land...Jacob-Israel. Temple sacrifices will be resumed, administered by the forever ruling Prince-King-Messiah...noted to be King of Kings. The Prince is mentioned 17 times starting in Ezekiel 34. Prince-King-Messiah in Ezekiel 45 will bring a sin offering for himself and the people. The glory of God returns (Ezekiel 43), sin sacrifices are resumed (Ezekiel 44-46), and the land is restored to the people of Israel (Ezekiel 47-48). The hearts of the people will be changed (Ezekiel 36:26-27), and even Gentiles have a place in the new restored kingdom (Ezekiel 47:22).

@mattgardiner614
@mattgardiner614 2 года назад
The scriptures that people associate with what is commonly called the 'Rapture' are about one thing: Those with the heavenly hope who have "fallen asleep" in death, receiving their resurrection as spirits. So I guess, in a strict sense, in the on-going 'Pre-Trib Rapture or not' debate, both sides are correct. 1 Corinthians 15:23 tells us: "But each one in his own proper order: Christ the firstfruits, afterward those who belong to the Christ DURING HIS PRESENCE.", so those who died prior to Christ's presence were resurrected once that presence began ("and those who are dead in union with Christ will rise first." - 1 Thessalonians 4:16). Those that have died since his presence began are instantly resurrected to "meet the Lord in the air", and those who remain up until the great tribulation need to die before it's end as Revelation 17:14 makes clear. Can't believe I still encounter people who think believers will levitate into the sky like helium balloons, in the flesh, but this cannot be so as we know from 1 Corinthians 15:50 "flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom". To clarify what I mean by 'Presence', I'm referring to the royal presence of Jesus Christ from the time of his invisible enthronement as Messianic King at the beginning of the last days. The Greek word rendered "presence" is pa·rou·siʹa, which means "being alongside." His presence would span a period of time rather than simply involve a momentary coming or arrival. This meaning of pa·rou·siʹa is indicated at Matthew 24:37-39, where "the days of Noah . . . before the Flood" are compared to "the presence of the Son of man." Also, at Philippians 2:12, Paul used pa·rou·siʹa to describe his "presence" in contrast with his "absence."

@@mattgardiner614 You are drawing a lot of conclusions there that the text does not say and at the same time directly contradicting the text of 1 Thess and 1 Cor. The text is very straightforwards that the trumpet will sound, there will be a shout from the Lord and all the dead in Christ will rise at once and be transformed in the twinkling of an eye, then those left alive on the earth will be changed and then meet them in the air. Its a total contraction of the text o say this happens at the moment of each persons death, the text clearly says the opposite of this. Furthermore nowhere does the text say the saints who rose at the cross came into their glorified form, no details are given at all but that many saints were seen walking in the city. @@ExperienceEric I was going to leave this till tomorrow, but why wait? 2 Points: 1) I said NOTHING about - as you word it - "the saints who rose at the cross", because there weren't any. Nobody who died prior to Christ will ever get to heaven. They will receive an earthly, physical resurrection after Armageddon. They don't qualify for heaven (John 3:5) 2) "many saints were seen walking in the city." I assume you are referring to Matthew 27:52,53. This is another fairy tale. This was no resurrection event. The Greek verb e·geiʹro, meaning "to raise up," (vs 52) can refer to a resurrection, but it is often used in other contexts. For example, it can mean to "lift out" of a pit or to "get up" from the ground. (Matthew 12:11; 17:7; Luke 1:69) Matthew does not say that "the holy ones" are "raised up." He says that their "BODIES" are. Evidently, the earthquake was so powerful that the tombs were broken open and corpses were thrown out of them. Think on it logically: With all the space given to the resurrection of individuals in the Bible, why would this - the ONLY mass resurrection in scripture - be given only 2 verses almost as an aside? And why would the parallel account at Mark 15 omit it entirely? (Mark 15:38 & 39 tells of the splitting of the curtain of the sanctuary and the Roman officer saying "Certainly this man was God's Son." The two events mentioned either side of the earthquake at Matthew 27.)

Pre-tribbers are gonna have to change their mind when Daniel’s 70th week begins, and there has been no Rapture as they are expecting. Keep the faith brother!

That is when I stopped listening. I do think he right about most things, but timing. Then again, we all must be humble enough to be wrong. I don't believe in the pre-trib either. I'm more pre-wrath.

I hold firmly to the view that the Tribulation is Wrath. The Judgments of the Seals, Trumpets, and Bowls are clearly God’s wrath. The last 3 1/2 years will be the worst, but the first 3 1/2 are going to make our current times seem like Eden. Paul was an apostle of peculiar qualifications: highly educated, zealous, and blessed beyond measure. He was called to Apostleship by non other than the risen Lord Himself. He was trained in Arabia by Jesus for 3 years, curiously the same number of years as the Apostles who were with Jesus on this earth. And: he was stoned to death in Lystra on his first missionary journey, and was taken up to God’s Throne Room in what is called a “near death experience”, though I doubt there was nothing “near” about it. Paul describes this event with great humility in 2 Corinthians 12, and how he “heard things which were not lawful for a man to utter…”; in other words, hidden mysteries of God, of which the Church and Church Age is an example. Thus, when Paul writes to the Church in Thessaloniki about their concern that they had missed the Rapture/Harpazo/snatching away, reassuring them in 1 Thessalonians 5:9 “For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ”, I take that literally. Factor in Galilean Wedding Tradition, which figures prominently in Jesus’s discourse with the disciples at His Ascension (“I go to prepare a place for you…), I put my faith in Him and Pre-Tribulational Rapture. God is Just and Righteous; I cannot reconcile that in his Righteousness, He would “remove our sins from us as far as the east is from the west”, then still force us to experience a period of God’s Wrath intended to bring an unrepentant ISRAEL finally to their knees. “51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:51-52. Faith. The Lord Bless you and Keep each of us here, the saints, and those with ears to hear the Gospel.
