What’s sad about Aeroflot 1492 (a Sukhoi SSJ-100) is that everyone initially survived the crash, but while the plane caught on fire and people needed to evacuate, a lot of people were getting their luggage from the overhead bins. And so the people in the back didn’t have enough time to get out of the plane. Unfortunately only 37 of the 78 passengers survived. Everyone might have survived if people hadn’t prioritized their luggage.

Surprised the DC-10 isn't on the most crashed list despite literally being called the "Flying Death" by some people. Poor Dc-10...

Hey ice! I have an idea for a competition, what if along with the art competitions, you do a plane model collection competition. This competition would be based on things like how creatively the planes are displayed. But I worry that this competition might be unfair to those who don’t have the money and/or space to collect plane models. What do you think?

Me choosing between an a380, a350 and 787 is so hard. They are safe, efficient, quiet, spacious and beautiful. The other day I saw a 787(Ethiopian Airlines) and I was just staring. I also saw an a350(from the same airline) and I took a photo of it. And the a380. Since it doesn't fly to Lusaka it is rare to see but you can see it at about 14 45(2 45) local time on some days. The conclusion is: *if plen modern, plen no crash and plen no mcas me likey plen.*

Judging by the recent fatal crashes in the past decade, we’re expecting one or two major crash with 50-200 fatalities every year. Like in 2020, we had Ukraine International flight 752, 2021 saw the crash Sriwijaya 182 and then a year later in 2022, we had China Eastern 5735 then this year in 2023 was Yeti airlines flight 691. So hopefully, the frequency of a major plane accident occurring will continue dropping going into 2024

I'd say the A320 family would be the "safest" cause it is extreamly popular aswell and it didn't have many fatal accidents. (I googled and I came to the conclusion of 1490 fatalities on board of a member of this family)

The B747 may have had a lot of high profile crashes but they was caused by human error, maintenance issues (when someone neglects a certain part of the plane), weather, or terrorism.

ive been watching a bunch of plane crashes and emergencies recently and its made me feel way less safe for when i next go on a plane but this video helped so much so thanks :)

My father is an airline pilot, and he's upgrading to the 737 max. He says that those crashes were 100% preventable - all the crew needed to do was hold a simple lever... They didn't because they weren't trained well enough.

The safest plane could be the infamous DC-10 (It does makes sense) They couldn’t be crashed if they’re retired & grounded Therefore they’re one of the safest planes till now

IMO it's not just a matter of airplane, it's more a combination of, mainly: airplane, company, the airports you're flying from and to (are they surrounded by mountains? do they have ILS and stuff?), the weather, and if you're flying at night

Fun fact: The 737-200 Is mostly used because they can land on gravels and their interior can be both used to Passenger Cabin and Payload room. Such as the Nolinor. They carry cargos and teams of engineers to Canadians Northern Islands.

Just out of curiosity, I would want to see the ratio between number of accidents of an airplane model compared to their total number of flights. It's not a perfect measure of finding the most dangerous airliner because like you said, a lot of it comes down to human error and weather conditions. Also, if you want to remove the bias of newer airplane models having a safer track record, then just compare the average annual accidents of each airplane.

a few months ago like in march or february a tram crashed near me and my school so uhhh idk if there were fatalities but i saw it in real time and also there were a few injuries

like the a350, when the a350 had the JAL 519 accident and the plane caught fire in seconds still everyone onboard the a350 survived which is super good

As someone that only flies in a Boeing 737, i can confirm its very safe even with a lot of crashes

compare how many people were transported by the plane type to how many people died on the plane. that should give you a pretty accurate representation of what is the safest plane

a good way to describe this is to see the average amount of days it takes for it to crash (amount of flys divided by amount of crashes) As for the planes that don't have crashes, the answer is already given (except they haven't crashed lol)

The Tu-114 could also be on this list though no airlines fly it anymore

surely a metric like fatalities caused by technical failure per million flown kilometers can show which is the safest plane

i remember the airfrance flight that crashed in toronto was exaggerated on tv so bad

a340 almost had a crash at Melbourne australia but it was able to get off the ground but a very close call

In my opinion, I think it’s the A220 (which is very obvious) but I would also consider the 737 of Ryanair, why? Because they haven’t had a single crash (most serious accident was a bird strike but the plane didn’t crash and there was a lot of ground collisions so yeah)
