I love magikey, but man I wish it was just a deck focused on monster attributes instead of normal monsters. Too much of a garnet chance with normal monsters in a deck
I promise you don’t want that, they tried the attribute gimmick with vanquish soul and that could’ve been the fairest broken deck because it requires specific cards in hand to work but that ends up being their downfall when they overbalance their effects. Explain to me how the fiendsmith link 1 gets to exist after we banned Spright Elf and SHS Scarecrow, but vanquish soul gets slapped with “main phase only” AND “cannot be used as link material” when all it does is special from hand OR add from GY???? And why are all of the big monsters main phase only AND do nothing by themselves so you have to commit deckbuilding sins just to play the deck because you need attributes in hand to work and you want to draw the big ones to dodge imperm/veiler, but they’re just so bad to draw yet you want to play 5-7 if you include jiaolong like whoever made the actual effect design for those cards needs to be fired and whoever designed the art and concept needs a raise. Why isn’t vanquish soul even playable? It could’ve been a fair tier 1 mid range deck but instead it’s just sky striker 2 but it can’t play power spells because it’s based on monsters. AND explain how it would’ve been unfair to get both effects from each monster per turn. Why can’t I draw 1 and burn 1500 every turn? Why can’t I pop the column and get protections every turn, no one even uses the protection on Razen. Why can’t I bounce the lowest defense monster and reduce a monster every turn? Why can’t I be a towers and pop 1 card every turn? Noir can spin like 5 cards and be unaffected and draw 6 cards and all the cards needed to make that happen are engine engine engine for the stupid kitty deck but instead vanquish soul, the cool ass fighting game archetype gets a bunch of cool fanservice boss monsters that don’t do shit. The fact that vanquish soul card effects are always 2-3 card combos due to the nature of having to have attributes in hand to reveal, means they did not at all need all those restrictions that Konami has neglected to put on any other card that actually needs restrictions. Why? SIDE SET BIAS they need pack filler for side sets, they can’t have good cards come out of every set they have to artificially hold back every rogue deck to make sure the core sets with the lore cards are always tier 0 and expensive. I hate Konami.
@@BigCheechin Vanquish Soul is unironically really good this meta, Razen + any FIRE in hand is full Vanquish Soul set up with Dust or Snow Devil. (If your opponent dont handtrap). I've been running it with Fire King because that deck dont really need it normal summon, FKVS is better than TCBOO and Shifter too ngl.
Back in the kitchen cooking up something awful, Magikey + Horus? With a suship engine? Magikey is already filled with garnets and horrible with resource mangement, horus takes even more, then suship needs a lot of its own cards
@@Morasaky More power to you, if you want to bring a fun deck to a competitive tournament that's your choice, just magikey is already terrible, I don't see the synergy with horus besides rank 8 plays, which is cool for the xyz but seems if you can't get the trap it's basically a 3k wall
@@KrislaneGC the rank 8 that i am playing was also the zombie that can mill 4 and also the photon lord to protect me from nib (which i didnt use in game 2 because i am stupid) plus horus monsters can end game faster. i tried it with punk the week before that. but my games werent shown on stream sadly
I'm starting to think the Promethean Princess is the card that should get banned. It has made all fire decks have an extension with otk hidden within. Zealantis did nothing wrong.
tbf i had to play around nib, i had both the field spell and the king's sarcophagus in game 2 and i started with my magikey cards. The lab player had daruma and both welcome so i dont know if i would have won that anyway. and Game 3 they popped the field spell (they always pop the card that u need) which was my only way to play
I love magikey . The problem is they empty out cards quick so you need to play engines that gain you free advantage while going neutral in hand advantage. My version is sooo consistent. 60 card pile ,with 4 archtypes crammed in. To the point my friend group knows how crazy my synchro endboard is they respect the matchup by trying adjust their deck to beat mine. Its not vanilla brick city. Puts up 7 interruptions and goes full turbo with 2 other engines alongside it. Have plenty of replays on master duel going full combo on snake eyes and other various decks. Always open full combo..very proud of my decklist. Just added a small swordsoul package too. You are all late to the party been comboing for about 2 years solid this way. The plunder matchup is brutal because in magikey you want multi attribute but plunder benefits hard off that. I still have a tough time irl with plunder , obviously whoever goes first has the advantage.

I don't really care about what deck is being played, but who thought despia was a good Idea, that shit is so broken. Snake-Eyes annoying, kinda busted, but despia is so stupid. All your stuff comes back on it's own for free, your opponent has to pay life points to play the game, you used your fusion cards that's okay we gave you 4 of them and you can have 3 of each, and they come back to your hand whenever you want, you can also use monsters that don't exist to fusion summon.

Dude please someone listen to me dkayed I’m reaching through the ether to tell you this I beg of you, Konami needs to ban Zealantis and Apollousa, two generic link 4 monsters that make snake eyes, a generic link material engine with NO LOCKS LIKE CYBERSE completely broken. A 3-4 mat Appo made by a masquarina by itself is an unbreakable board by itself for some decks, add on top of that the 3-5 other layered/conditional interruptions of fire king and snake eyes, no modern deck should be allowed to have 4 monster negates on top of their actual engine. The only deck that should be allowed that is memento because it’s actually their card that does 5 negates. Zealantis is completely unfair, because if you can make it your opponent probably already ran out of gas, and it all but guarantees lethal damage save for towers and wabakou-effects. The fact that you can completely nullify almost any kind of protections on monsters, and then bring them back face down (sometimes they don’t even come back if they weren’t properly summoned or if water deck does it) AND you then get to destroy 3 of them while they’re face down so even if they had targeting protection, destruction protection, nothing matters because it basically non target flips everything face down. It is literally book of eclipse with no downside on a generic link 1 who happens to require a link 4 to make, and in snake eye, also destroys 3 cards no targeting including back row so it plays around battle traps it plays around swords of revealing light it plays around phantasmay it plays around literally anything that a rogue deck would use to just survive when their board gets cracked, but Zealantis is artificially inflating the winrate of snake eyes by giving them lethal damage way too easily even if your opponent still has a big board of sticks with protection, if they can’t keep actively disrupting you, you just kill them it’s completely unfair. The linkuriboh ban was 100% because people complained about not being able to stop the combo because they kept dodging imperm and veiler on the level 1s, but if we’re taking about healthy game design, if players are so upset about not being able to stop the combo at a single choke point that it got a non snake eyes card banned, the underlying reason for that is because you know if they combo going first you lose because they have like 5 interruptions plus an Apollo just to spit on you, and if they go second and combo you know you lose because they’re just going to take 20 minutes to Zealantis you like mathmech trying to update jammer lethal you. It’s just too ridiculous and it’s exactly because of the generic link toolbox, not because snake eyes as an engine is too good. Snake eyes cards literally suck, no one plays the traps or the spells that are designed to work with the archetype, because why do that when you have interruptions that are 10x better in your 15 card second hand? You can’t brick on appolo or Zealantis, which is always the inherent downside of main deck win more spells and traps. They will always be outclassed by the extra deck. Therefore the only way to make the risk of bricking worth playing those junk cards, is to ban their competition. Now we can’t just ban every good generic extra deck monster, but basically take 4 monster card out of your hand, and then turn 2/3 guaranteeing lethal damage, giving no chance for a comeback, both with ridiculously easy summoning conditions, yeah they definitely have to go and then you won’t even have to keep snash at 1. Linkuriboh barrone and savage deserve to stay banned, and we should really be adding the next 2 culprits in the generic extra deck monster lineup to the list. Masquerena and S:P would be next by that logic, but they’re not anywhere near as oppressive as the other 5 just mentioned. My perfect snake eye banlist is appo banned zealantis banned snash to 3 wanted to 1 original to 1 and bonfire to 1, then you have a fair deck.
