Thanks, Marlon! Telling it like it is, as always. Keep up the good work. As a side note, I've noticed that Plugin Alliance is pairing this with all their synths (in the user section under plugins, they have a link to the Enhancer with a slight discount.) Maybe this is meant more for enhancing instruments than for full mixes? That might explain the tuner. Who knows?
It's more for garage style amateurs who want to quickly enhance their individual instruments in a mix and I think it works really well at it. I'm a fan :) I have the subscription and most channel strips on there are nebulous and hard to use. A channel strip for the rest of us.
Lolz at ‘grey blob of sadness’. Completely agree, of all the stylistic choices, why would you make me want to squint. What is this, the 2000s? Haha. There’s quite a few Brainworx plugins that are GOATs (the Digital V3 for example). The newer stuff not so much. And why is it so freaking big?
That stereo width matrix is on basically all BX plugins which are for mixing and mastering. But any mid/side eq can do that. Just lower the low end content in the sides : easy peasy.
Actually this does have a sidechain input. I find this plugin pretty cool, especially the tuner as I always find myself needing to add tuners whenever I tune my hardware synths and samples. This might not be for mixing and mastering people, but certainly works for musicians!
I own quite a number of PA plugins now, and I used to check for new releases. But indeed since a while they don't release anything really new. They should rather concentrate on updating/improving their existing plugins in my opinion, they have some good stuff that could get even better.
There's a thing on trying to improve existing plugins that potentially could mean it will affect mixes where you used a previous version. That is one of the reasons why you see v2's so more often. But if that is what you jean, I agree.
I agree, updating current versions lightly without compromising backwards compatibility, or updating with new versions. For example, I'm still waiting for an Apple Silicon update to the SPL Hawkeye. It is the last plugin I own that is still not updated to run natively on my M1. Come on...
i like the bx stuff and am okay with this one's appearance....i was disappointed with the CPU-usage of the new bx-Clipper, however, and that always bears consideration for my purposes. would have to test-run...
it's nice to eyes I guess gui is tailored for long sessions even missing some contrasts, coloring alone makes it slightly better. However why that confusing new naming of enhance if there already standard names for that like presence and bass shift (from bx digital) only to make the new plug-in obvious. It's clearly made for musicians and not so much for pro mixers or mastering engineers like the intro description telling. Boosts or cuts based on the tuner info would be an artistic choice.
"an ideal mixing plugin for musicians with limited mixing experience" - is the intention. However, it's concerning to see those different plugins which are providing the exact same functions, especially one which is supposed to be a mastering plugin.
Just more retreading. Meh Ok so it is perhaps a (slightly) useful "Duplo" of a real set of tools for people unwilling/unready to fly the real things. Ultimately tho it is just a sign that all of these companies pushing suckscriptions have lost interest in quality and are just turning the handle on pointlessness. :-(
Basis: calling a tilt eq something different so people buy it. Also making it beign a different name than the other bx latest plugins makes it more shady
Seems like a "skip" product to me. I already own the interesting colored emulation bx channel strips like the SSL 4000 series. Those are worth it, but this one, nah
This is just a bunch of older plugins put together in a new skin. I hate when companies do this. This was thrown together just so they could say they "released something". Sad, we need helpful tools, not this.
Money is this. I'm so done with Plugin Alliance. That's the type of company that will eventually become 100% subscription screwing all all their customers. And they are continuously putting out the same types of plugins.
