I purchased one of these topper tents. Seemed like a pretty good idea. Except I never got to use it. the first time closing the door zipper it broke. Returned the tent to them and was promised a replacement. Months later and zero communications and not tent. Would initiate a chargeback but feel like I waited too long by giving them the benefit of the doubt.
I wanted to make an update.. took a while and got a hold of the owner via email. There was some confusion and they thought they had already sent me a replacement. The sent one out right away and it is in great condition. Looks like the fabric might have been updated and the zippers work as they should. Cant wait to try it out. Nice to see a company make things right.
I have a 5’ bed with a platform bed and I’m thinking about building a 1’ extension to the platform bed that will sit on the tailgate. Will that will hinder the tent’s usability?
Just used this for the first time with my Toyota Tacoma! It was great and it’s a really simple setup. The only gripe I have is the bottom door portion doesn’t zipper and relies on Velcro that you have to press from the outside. This resulted in my dog jumping out of the truck in the middle of the night because of the large gap. Overall I like the product but the design needs some tweaking with the door. I know you guys are a new company so I hope this gets to you! It’s almost perfect!
I was wondering about that, wish they jad D door full zip style, doesn't make sense to only be able to velcro from the outside.. hopefully this gets fixed soon.
I wish you guys had a video of it with the softopper. I'm thinking of getting a softopper to use with your topper tent. Also, have you guys going to add a bug mesh?
@@Yota__Adventures thanks man! this is exactly what I was looking for, just got my softopper 2 days ago, still waiying on my topper tent, seeing this review reassures me this is exactly what I want. I have a question, I'll post a comment on your video.
Do you like your nomad? I’m torn between the two. Nomad seems more insulated and I like the zipper doors instead of the Velcro on this one. But this one is so much cheaper
It’s alright, but doesn’t roll up nicely on the fly like this one. Which in turn effects how much I actually use it. This one seems more practice but I imagine the nomad is warmer in winter.
I’ve tried emailing topper several times prior to order…no replies. Makes me not comfortable. What’s my alternatives. 2023 tundra short bed with new softopper
Okay - mine doesn’t have the center hook & loop. It has 2 on the edges. When installed , the rolled up topper tent sags in the middle and I can’t see out the back window of my topper! HOWEVER - this thing is so easy to install, I went with Plan B. Topper Tent in a stuff bag and installation when I’m parked at the campground. Got the hook & loop on the truck bed side in back (front?) of the tailgate. I’m good to go. I was planning on making a video of my installation. However again, however, you don’t want to see a frustrated 78 year old woman thinking of Plan B. It’s all good. I’m headed to Nevada.
Try to order from these guys and they never sent the package. Great idea and would love to use one but their communication sucks and they simply don’t ship their product.
Awesome design. Looks like it still needs some work, but going in the right direction. However for $270 as of 6/20/22 that is steep and frankly too expensive… work on getting cost down please and thank you.
@@wildcatoutdoors I think it's insanely overpriced. I've seen a huge variety of full tents that cover the entire truck bed for less than half of this and this is literally just 1/4 of the tent, attached in the same way. it's just a very specific market for topper owners and that's the only reason it's so expensive.
