What is Topstitching in Relation to Bag Making?

I thoroughly enjoy your videos! But I have a question. I am intrigued by your set. No disrespect intended. But what does it represent? A get a space ship vibe. Or is it just fun lighting? Whatever it is, it fits your personality. Sorry to hear your stress with your kitty. Been there. Done that. But it’s what we do for our fur littles. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Take your time getting back into the groove. Back to the subject of this video. I appreciate you explaining the purpose of steps and details. I’m old school so much of this has been ingrained in my mind from when I learned to sew. But I have noticed that many sewers/designers simply say “for more professional results” do such and such. But I get the feeling they don’t really know the reason they are to do it - they have seen it done with the same verbiage so they simply repeat it. But at least they do it! Keep up the good work.

I have a habit of asking questions before I watch a whole video so excuse me if I ask something that you address later in this video lolol, but I'm curious as to whether or not you have a tutorial for this little yellow pouch cuz I have been wanting to try one with faux leather on the bottom, I just purchased some from Joann's. This pouch is adorable and other than not knowing what that pic is on the front of it, I would totally buy something like that. Thank you for explaining things so well. I just got my first industrial machine, any chance of you doing a video about sewing on one? I've learned I need a different thread with it verses my regular one and I have sooooo many questions lol. Like does the thread change depending on what your sewing? Say cotton verses vinyl? When I sew on cotton woven the tension is weird but when I sew on my waterproof canvas or vinyl it's fine. A video would be so helpful!!!! Oh and burning threads, when does that have to happen? EVERY time you have an end to a thread? When using bonded nylon thread?? I'm gonna have to buy a lot of lighters lol

my problem is sewing straight. no matter what i do i cannot sew straight for topstitching. this has my bags looking unprofessional. ugh what can i do to sew straighter?
