Started the Tower of God Cut Content Series: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nZ3wkBtNViA.html Here's what the anime skipped from episode 1!
regardless of good arts, but this is one of the worst anime i ever seen - ep1 starts with a good concept of an obstacle stage → made me excited → mc cheese clear the stage - battle royal, again brain dead cheese clear - water wall, again no brain cheese clear - the girl got stabbed → instead of mc & friends try to aid her, they started listening to a back story of the trash who stabbed her, left the girl bleeding moreover, everyone wear extremely poor clothes design. such a waste of time watching this...
Same. I actually like how they just adjust the art style but not change it completely. It is very unique and it suits how the webtoon was drawn way back 2010 or 2011(im not sure)
The animation is one of the best things about it. It actually looks like it's drawn on paper. Almost every anime now looks like the characters are rubbed in vaseline.
Yeah, I was taken by surprise when he said the art style was off-putting. It reminds me of various works by Studio Bones, some of the character designs feel a bit like hunter x hunter, and some of the shots that don't have detailed backgrounds but instead just a single 'set piece' of sorts remind me of Negima!? by studio Shaft (Negima has a very confusing amalgamation of Anime, so if you're thinking this feels nothing like Negima then you probably haven't seen the version done by Shaft.)
I love how most of the comments are all of us fans that have read Tower of God once if not more times and are just excited to see more new people find this amazing series
Something that drew a lot of attention as well is that the intro and outro music was made by Stray Kids, a popular Kpop group. This got initial viewers and I think that the first episode really was eye catching
@@ritazhu4786 yes! I'm a huge fan of Stray Kids, and I started watching this anime purely because of the fact that they did the opening and ending songs...... but now I'm hooked! This may be my favourite anime I've ever watched. (btw, I've never been into anime... I've probably only seen like... 3 animes before in my life XD)
For me it was the other way around. I think the intro and outro tracks are generic rubbish, the anime soundtrack itself however shines brightly in comparison. It really suits the atmosphere and has a more organic sound going for it.
Exactly like wtf... Anime community is really conservative when it comes to anything different though. I wish I enjoyed the writing and plot more though. The art style, animation and music are really good, but the story just feels more of the same.
Durodes Duvo sorta sad since season two is definitely superior compared to season one. actually i noticed a lot of people found tower of god to be very boring in the beginning including myself but it definitely becomes better , only problem is that arcs are dragged way longer than they should be
Yes Unless, you were asking for a suggestion. Still yes, if your looking for a suggestion then, I suggest explaining who the guy in Bam's first test is.
in korean language Baam means Night I think, and also in Japanese language if we will translate it, it will be Yoru means night. but setting it as his name as in webtoon its pretty great, but it will cause a confusion to the watchers/readers.
@@samsonjellykieleros8261 ohhh I see, sorry about that. But I think S.I.U meant Baam as night. coz he's name was Twenty Fifth Night(Baam). I appreciate that, I learned something new today hehe.
When I started reading Tower of God it quickly became one of my all time favorite series. The story is rather slow in the beginning but because it is slower we get to know Bam and the others. It isn't until the second season of ToG that things become extremly good.
John Thunberg yeah and it makes you really appreciate the first season. I remember when it was first coming out ppl were complaining about season 1 bam but when we got too season 2 everyone missed him and/or realized who he was and felt bad that he wasn’t the same innocent kid anymore. It looks like it’s happening all over again and this time with the anime. Lol
@@dattabayo5961 chapter 475, which is also like, around the 10th arc i believe. The 1st arc is the floor of test or just this 1 floor that we are on in the anime pretty much. 2nd arc is after that, which is the arc that people say that it gets good from there. It's in season 3 in the manhwa i believe.
FCK i am excited. No lie at first i was like ok whack it is ok then the end of ep1 The Hunger game pop out I am like oh shit It is gonna get good, and i was right. It is getting so good and never read the Magna so i am excited for this to do extremely well
About the art style. Even I, a huge fan of tower of god, questioned whether I would learn to like it. I did, and in the process grew to realise that animation is like fabric. They all have different textures. The thing is, every anime with good animation has had an art style that's as smooth as silk. In this sense everyone has become so used to the feeling of silk that they aren't able to appreciate the soft texture of felt.
Izaiah Creager I agree with you! Though I also believe that the animations is going to develop like it did in the manwha. Can’t wait to see the progression of awesome graphics and storyline.
Almost half a year later and I still don’t understand why so many people didn’t really like it. It looked awesome from the moment I saw it. I was intrigued enough to read the webtoon before the anime started because of the art style
Spoiler alert, if you have not read the webtoon, this is a spoiler: One thing I’m still confused about is whether Rak learned how to change his size or if he’s stuck like that. I know he originally was turned short as a prank and that he wouldn’t be able to change back until he learned how to. But even after it was shown he could change back later in the series, he usually stays in his short form.
SPOILER I think he's had the power the entire story he just never realized it. Because Evankhell has the ancient powers that allow her to compress, with Rak having ancient powers as well. After Hansung shrunk him in the test area, I think Rak recognized his ability to compress.
@@_r._7513 **SPOILER** Rak is a compression licenser. They are basically "giant", "huge", "massive" individuals, creatures, artificial beings, or living beings that are known to be able to "resize" their body size. It's not their born ability, but an additional ability which resulted after they made contract with the Guardian.
@@_r._7513 they explained later on that he's a compressor. That means the administrator allowed him to compress into a smaller shape. If you're really big, like rak, you compress down into a small shape. I'm guessing you forgot or you aren't that far in God of tower?
For a person who has read hundreds of manga and seen a stupendous amount of anime, my personal comment would be, this does something different, it's very rare for me to be interested in "story" these days because they're all dull/similar you can pretty much predict how it ends. Tower of god does something which you find rarely in its own way. It takes some time to get to that point, but anyone just watching the anime and hasn't read the manga, keep watching you won't regret it.
Definitely and considering the anime is only 13 episodes with episode 4 still being on the crown game??? Theres a high probability of a season 2 or even 3 being made
@@chan-hc4gf probably more than 3 seasons. We are still at the crown game which is not even halfway to the end of part 1. And part 2 is even longer(almost 4 times the length of part 1). Considering the webtoon is at part 3 rn, definitely more than 3 seasons.
@@Jesei1211 Your question confuses me in the sense that, i already answered most of what you're asking i think. What i'm referring to in regards to your "less appealing" I mean stories with the generic as main character story line where it's always the same and there is no good character development or twist. Second I've never said it's a "must read" i'm pretty sure i stated it's not like it's not been done before, but it does it in it's own unique way which makes it good.
I understand why people say that the artstyle of the anime is ''weird'' but I actually love it, because I find it ''refreshing'' something new to my eyes, different than the usual artstyle
Tower of God is one of the "Big 3" of Webtoons (alongside Noblesse and God of Highschool). It has been around for years and still not finished and still extremely popular so I think it is the "One Piece" of webtoons. Y'all are in for a treat it is amazing.
@@FrauZehel It was ok. They had an epilogue that had a bit of a cliffhanger though. Maybe they just didnt want to close the door completely lol, even if there is prob no chance of the manwha getting continued cuz the artist got sick.
Izzan Vroom season one is basically, that first Page in a book that the author dedicates to his love one. Cuz once u start reading the actual book, there’s a WJOLE LOT OF SHIT GOING ON.
True. Been reading the webtoon non-stop, there's like what +300 pages for season 2? Yeah. Season 1 of the anime is literally just a "select your character" type of scenario
I just have an objection: The art in Tower of God is amazing. All rough lines are a deliberate choice and the use of color is one of the best out there. It's not the same style as most manga/anime out there and maybe some people will find it strange at first because of the unfamiliarity, but it's simply really good nonetheless.
Totally agree, the art is phenomenal. Genuinely fantastic, amazing art that has continually gotten better and better throughout the entire story. It was a bit rough in the beginning, though.
The thing about ToG art is you can always tell when the author is struggling with his wrist problems. It can range from bad to amazing depending on his health. That also affects the story writing at times. I believe the anime can rectify these issues however.
I don't see how can you find it strange considering how many different styles of anime and manga we already witnessed. When I watched it for first time I only realised its Korean origin by how weird names of characters are.
Even at the latest chap of TOG we're still halfway through the Tower ... it's going to be a long series for sure Edit: Holy shit, I didn't expect to this to blow up! Lmao
Yeah but thats just because he's been powering up and not climbing he is already the strongest regular by far obviously considering he is stronger than a lot of rankers so basically the tower from now with regulars will be a joke for him so and so it will be very fast and I doubt it will really get covered much.
@@tomstacey1103 It's not known how many floors there are in total, but it is known that Zahard climbed 134 floors and stopped to climb the Tower, blocking the access to higher floors. So...regulars can climb 133 floors (I excluded the floor of death)
Hey y’all! If you have read the WEBTOON, please don’t spoil certain things about certain characters. It can ruin the experience for other people, and if you weren’t spoiled, why would you want to spoil others experience?
It's because its a different feeling, we are used to different stories with similar feelings, because the creators of those series have similar opinions as they are from the same country, but since Tower of God was made by a korean author, it gives off a totally different vibe from anime we've seen before, which is why I really love it, and this opens up doors for many manhwas out there, I heard God of Highschool getting adapted which was the most popular webtoon out there prior to Solo Levelling or Tower of God
the first season of g.o.h is grate bat *spoiler* After the massive power ap it lost the charm of marshel arts which dow me to read it in the first place
kouhai The timing of the music is weird at times, in my opinion anyways. Kevin Penkin is great at making music and the soundtrack is amazing. But its how the studio implemented it thats been bad so far, then again thats just my opinion. The tone changes so fast and the tracks change and almost randomly and at the weirdest parts of the song.
@@cro6029 dont wanna be mean but keep your fucking stupid opinion that doesnt change anything because ur dependent ass is sitting in your parents house
I started reading webtoons when The Anime Man recommended Sweet Home. Sweethome had only 20 chapters back than so I started reading Bastard, which is from the same author. Bastard was one of the best things i've read/seen and I put it at the same hight as Steins;Gate and Re:Zero with a 10/10. I searched for more Webtoons since I liked Bastard that much and found Noblesse. Noblesse was something completly different from what I've seen before because it had a topic that I haven't seen that much (gene/body modification with vampires/nobles and werwolfs) with action and story equal to Bleach and Naruto. It took a while to read the 500+ chapters and pretty much as I finished, an Anime adaptation was confirmed, together with Tower of God, which I started reading then. I haven't read a lot of Manhwa, but what i've read was reeealy good. It has reason why ToG is in the top #30 sorted by score on MAL so please make more vids about it :D
I recommend "Duty after school" I feel like it is really underrated and it is a great story, it's a thriller, I like it as much as I like "Bastard". Even though the beginning might seem comedic, it takes a dark turn quickly. Also "Sweet Home" is getting a tv show live action adaptation set to be released in June..
The thing is with Tower of God there's a bunch of lore about the Tower itself, the Irregulars, the members of the 10 Great Families, what conflicts, type of figthers and much other events, characteristics and many other aspects about the Tower and it's story and inhabitants
As much as I hate Rachel, I find her quite mysterious. Like, she came from above the cave place, but we don’t know what the place above the cave was like. She also said she never saw the stars, but then, was there no sky above the cave bam was in? Who taught her how to read and write? How did she live before finding bam?
The sky they see in the tower isn't real but is a projection of a sky-like-image created by Shinsu. And your right Rachel is a mystery that makes her really interesting character of the webtoon.
Episode 4 next week will be solo storyboarded, directed, and key animated by a big shot, though the name wasn't disclosed. We already saw Hisao Yokobori and Yoshinobu Michihata in the OP, Kazuhide Tomonaga appeared in episode 2's credits, so it makes you wonder who it could be. Episode 4 will be filled with some badass fights. read chapter 15-25 of tower of god if you want to see how hype it'll be. Especially when its animated just right with some amazing Sakuga.
i highly doubt it will have badass fights, especially sakuga. want badass fights with sakuga? wait for summer that God of High School anime starts. the animation of Tower of God is mehhhh.
I'm so happy that webtoons are getting this opportunity. Each and every webtoon is so amazing and creative. People truly take their time and their story lines are amazing. The imagination everyone have regardless of pace is so cool and there is so much originality. Even if some are similar it's still have a different tone . The different styles of art is my favorite instead oc seeing 1 type of drawing style all the time . Characters don't always have to look a certain way and I love that .
@@sirperybLakeney That and he was still new to drawing, and was doing everything by himself until the later seasons. what i love about Towe of god, webtoon, is the chapters just get longer as the seasons pass
@@SapiaNt0mata i think they choosed this art style. Because it suits how the webtoon was drawn way back 2010. I actually like this art style personally
I wish more webtoons get adapted into anime, they are really different from mangas and have a "fresher" feel to it if you get what I mean. And Noblesse is gonna get an adaptation too, I can't wait to see Rai laying waste to his enemies :)
@@fable2830 and everyone will people will still keep fucking saying "Have you read Solo Leveling?" or if it did get a anime people will say "Have you seen Solo Leveling?" till i my ears and eyes bleed by how much they are gonna cram it down everyone's throat and ears
@@yokedswole it's not like it's bad, it's actually great. At least, definitely better than early hxh or one piece. But if you're a casual you'd certainly think the everything past P1 is better since there are more fights and more world building. P1 is also akin to a prologue, the actual story starts when P2 starts. Just think of it as the "childhood" arc in a typical anime.
Read all of it, don’t really get the hype tbh, just a story about a power creeping MC, very flat characters, predictable world building and conflict, unoriginal setting etc. the fights are all about flash but what’s fun about a fight when you know the outcome and don’t care for the enemy’s non existent motivations?
Crazy thing is the society of the tower is that no one has even reached the top of the tower. The most powerful people in the tower are still in 140's level and it looks like there might not even be a top in sight. But that being said the wish you desire will be achieved as you climb the tower, not when you reach the top. Some people just stop climbing because they have achieved what they desire once they get to a certain floor.
offputting? i actually think the artstyle is infinitely nicer to look at than, for example SAO to pick something where the issue i have w a lot of anime art is especially prevalent which is. people have same face syndrome and look painfully cutesy in a way that doesnt fit or help bring the tone across. tower of gods artsyle is a little bit different from most anime styles currently airing out there allowing the show to be recognized easily in screenshots but not enough that itll turn audiences off, also it lets you tell apart the characters easily by giving them unique looks.
Exactly! I am really excited the industry is slowly branching out to different styles because the anime community can't handle anything that tries to break the norm. Aka: Mob Psycho. Now it is well received.
I don't see how anyone can say it is off putting since it is so gorgeous to look at it is like saying demon slayer style is off putting. I can see someone not liking it but even if you don't quality is showing. Style to me looks like merge of old anime with new ones. Also animation is extremely good.
@@MarkoLomovic I toooootally agree. This does have the flair and uniqueness that old anime have, most old animes never look alike and all are different which I enjoy. But it is tuned up and up to new standards of animation
"I'm sure you got the same impression that I did: the art style is a little bit off putting". Well, actually no. I have my share of complaints about this adaptation (maybe even a bit nitpick-y ones at times), mostly related to animation, pacing and excessive cuts on dialogues, but the art style is one of the things I was absolutely fine with from the beginning.
The art style from that one image of Bam and Rachel is one of the things that drove me to get into the series in the first place. Honestly I absolutely love the art style
i think what he meant was, compared to other mainstream anime media, this one feels odd. like if u look at it objectively, its actually just like any other cartoon/anime, its just that, TOG popped out of nowhere and compared to the anime released at the same period its FEELS diffrent. that is all to it really.
I love the fact that in the Anime he is called Yoru which is „night“ in Japanese as Baam is in Korean and it makes a couple of wordplays stay the same later on in the series. 😊
When you said the beggining reminds you of Hunter X Hunter compared to the rest of the story, YOU JUST MADE ME DEFINITELY WANT TO WATCH THIS WHOLE ANIME, I literally thought yesterday "People are saying Tower of God is great, the beggining is nice, it is kinda like the hunter exam, it would be nice if the story would get *AMAZING* later on just like Hunter X Hunter did, but maybe that's just me" When you compared Tower of God and Hunter X Hunter, you being a person that knows what you are talking about, my hype level went from 7/10 to 100/10 (Hunter X Hunter is my second favorite anime btw)
I've been an avid reader of Tower of God and I wholeheartedly agree with the comparison. Hunter X Hunter really was what I was thinking while reading the early arcs :)
Definitely there is a paralel with HxH. Even the system of combat is presented in the same manner. What you just saw is like the people in the hunter exam fight in comparison with the rest of the anime. They didn't even scrath ToG fight system.
@@batu5180 I'm pretty sure HxH has the most well written story in all of anime so if his first place Is some generic bullshit SHONEN I'm beating his uncultured ass
i've been reading the webtoon for years and the story only gets better and better. i hope the anime becomes popular aswell. the best part of this webtoon is the fights that get flashier over the time .
YESSSSSSS! ANINEWS TALKING ABOUT TOWER OF GOD! Honestly ani theres a lot of material you work with the great familys the 13 months maybe even fug elders. Edit: changed 12 months to 13 months sorry about that.
But shouldn't that all be covered in season 2 or dialogue in season 1? Like my problem is it doesn't seem like they are cutting much information. So all of that will be covered with time.
tower of god has done me good during quarantine, watched the first episode then starded to read the web comic now i am sitting 3 - 5 hours a day reading it.
I hate that people think bam is stupid for just chasing rachael. Rachael is like this bam's mother in a way and is the only person he has ever truly known. Other than that he doesn't know what else to live for so it makes sense. Im not a manga reader but I sure bam's character will be more fleshed out later and not so one dimensional. I am actually gonna start the webtoon soon.
Honestly I think the art works well having read the webtoon, I don’t know how I would feel about it looking more like a “real” anime.. also the workshop Battle was a crazyyyy ass arc
i feel like tower of god isnt just a story its a metaphor about life and living the entry test symbolizes being fearless and stepping up and doing things you may be afraid of cause you have to do it. Rachel is to cling to a dream and to chase a dream like how she leaves to go see the stars but she had to leave bam behind sometimes you have to let people go to chase your dream and go separate ways. the first test means to make friends not enemies and to even make friends who may not be nice to you cause you can change how they act towards just by being nice.the second test is how there may be a barrier if you want something but most can overcome it even the weak. the 3rd test is about trusting your instincts and not second guessing yourself. and the crown game is about teamwork and protecting your loved ones even if you may have to let others down or put a hold on your dreams for a moment these are just my thoughts and i may just be reading into it to much. and i would say something about the other tests but i dont remember them from when i was reading the webtoon and i dont want to spoil anything for anime only watchers
I started with the anime but I can't wait every week so I just started reading the webtoon and I am hooked up. I just don't want it to end, Damn it's so freaking good.
petitions mean absolute shit, and there's already a petition. Solo Leveling will not get animated. it doesn't present Japan as the good guys and the light novel that is ahead of the webtoon has anti-Japan stuff, and Korea is presented as being superior/stronger than Japan. no Japanese studio will make it into anime. west animation making the anime? good luck with that.
There is a negative chance of Solo Leveling getting adapted actually. It's so amazingly pro korea and anti-japan, that no studio with any sanity would take it.
Have y’all read the lite novel? If this gets an anime adaptation I might just die of excitement. I remember when Noblesse and Tower of God just came out and I was like wow what’s this coloured manga nooo it’s call Manhua. And I said WTF must be lame. The I read TOG and at the time it was just at chpt 11. I cried cause I didn’t want to wait a full week or two for another chpt so I put it out of my mind and many years later came across it in a meme. And then I was like wait, I should read this again. It had 200 chpt. I read it in a week and then got depressed cause I had to wait so I parked it again for another many years. And then last year I was like oh imma re read all the great manga and WEBTOONs/manhua i use to read. Then I realised that I had 400 chpt for TOG so I re read the first 200 and continued the story. Then I am back where I first began with the first 11 chapters and the anime comes out what!!! Then I stumbled up Solo levelling and as usual I couldn’t wait each week so a fellow reader said hey you should check the lite novels. And the rest is history, it’s a grand time to be alive. This was kinda long sorry!
You people should read Hardcore Levelling Warrior. Its a manwha that no one talks about, but has a really high rating and is reaaaaaaaaaly guud. Its basically if you took SAO's world, and made Kazuma the main character and made him ULTRA overpowered with smortness
Totally agree. I look forward to the day Sweet Home gets adapted into one of the best contemporary horror anime. The first episodes of that webcomic gave me chills when reading it at night.
For anybody who wants to read the web toon: Don't let the art influence you. It is really bad on the first chapters but as the story continues it just gets AMAZING. Really the drawing is nearly a masterpiece at the current state. Also I'd recommend you reading the webtoon (even if you are anime only) because the first season will only have 13 episodes and that won't even be enough to cover the first season of the webtoon (~70 chapters). It is worth reading really, and because it is a webtoon its full colored. The webtoon has arround 500 chapters and a new one is released every week!
wait just 13 episodes? if they'll rush it then that sounds bad but if step by step adaptation then 13 episode is not even 1% to where it as at right now 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Casual reminder to prospective readers: it's licensed and free to read on webtoon.com . Avoid manga aggregate websites if you can as the views help in the weekly rankings and monetisation for author from the official site.
Tower of God, unOrdinary, God of High School, Gosu, and I am the Grim Reaper are some of mine and many others favorite Webtoons’ Solo Leveling (which might not get an anime because of Korea’s conflict with japan in the story) is also a favorite Korean manhua of mine and hope it gets animated
As a manga reader, I was dying for an anime. I know the story is long but I would watch it all. All fucking episodes. Give me 300 episodes. I need the train arc animated. That scene they board the train would be godly. Blue turtle the real wifey.
idk why but rachel got transformed from an ugly girl to a cute one in the anime. haha but oh well finished the webtoon last week. now getting hyped for it.
