So this game is insane, as are the developers. Its a fast-paced shooter very much like Doom, but with lots of other mechanics like a style meter from Devil May Cry and a dodge button with invincibility frames like Dark Souls/Elden Ring. The "story" is based off of Dante's Inferno, complete with the Layers of Hell, King Minos, and blood. Sooooo much blood. Speaking of which, the only way to heal in this game is to be close enough to enemies for their blood to cover you, kind of like Bloodborne. And fun fact, the voice of Gabriel in this video, Gianni Matragrano, is in fact the ACTUAL voice of Gabriel in the game. He has worked with Max0r in the past on videos, playing Melatonin in his Elden Ring videos. The dude is a legend. Yeah, this game is nuts. And so is this video.

Also some quick mandatory facts(besides the Gianni one) Punching bullets was originally a bug but was kept in as Hakitia (the pretty much everything except for Voice acting and a few songs) thought it was “cool” 2. Yes! I’ve been hoping to see some Ultrakill content from you and I would also like to see you play the game! Major problem about that though, the Ultrakill community has problems with backseating players on how they "should" play when it’s best if the player learns for themselves. It would probably be best if you were to play it you wouldn’t be live or wouldn’t read the live stream chat. One problem I do see from a lot of new players is that they don’t pay attention to when the game tells you something, when it’s telling you something it will 100% be worth reading and knowing what the game is trying to teach you.

Ultrakill is a game you need to play. It straight up is one of the consistently best experiences I've ever had playing video games, and it entirely based around the premise of 'kill shit however you want but make it really cool'

My favorite part is that Max0r got Gianni Matragrano (Gabriel’s voice actor) to make Gabriel say funny things in these videos. Gianni is one of those voice actors who will literally voice anything if it’s funny (bonus points if it makes him money), and we love him for it.

I would have to correct you Most people think that peak Max0r is his metal gear rising videos for which he literally said that he didn't have enough skills to do what he wanted and had them delayed. I will write this in advance because the second part of this video has a moment that confuses EVERYONE!(without spoilers). The secret level that Maxor will show at the beginning of the second part is not mandatory for passing the game, you can score on it until the very end of the part of the game that has already been released at this moment (this also often confuses people).

The hideous mass fight is actually super easy. Simply stand on top of him, jump, and slam repeatedly whilst pulling out the nailgun, right clicking his bell icon (this is the important part, don't miss), and then holding down the shoot button while pointed in the general direction of "down" (if you hit the right click, you effectively get aimbot) until your gun no longer shoots, then whip out the shotgun and it should be 1-5 shots from dead, depending on how much you charge the shotgun and how good of a shot you are.

The only person with voicelines in game is Gabriel who's voice actor is Gianni Matragrano who Maxor got to voice Gabriel in the video. However every other voice actor is just an addition by people Maxor had voice them for the video.

Ultrakill is basically Doom Eternal if the devs or dev singular did drugs and shitposted amidst telling a serious story then decided to get the greatest shitpost VA to voice one of the only voiced characters in the game thats also arguably the protagonist at this point. Gianni loves voicing Gabriel so much for shitposts that he often does it for free. I believe Max0r had to insist on paying him for the lines he recorded in these parts. In case youre wondering Gianni has done voice work in a few of Max0r's vids. Most notably this, Metal Gear Rising, and Melania in the Elden Ring vids.

just... if you don't know the lore for this game here it is, simplified to almost perfection. WW1 never ended in this universe and humanity used all of their resources on machines of war with each built to counter the previous for 200 years straight and eventually caused the apocalypse by something which is spoiler for Layer 7, after this the surviving humans came together to salvage what was left of Earth and came to a world peace. They eventually discovered the gates of hell and sent many robots to explore but when they realised fully that Hell was leaking into Earth they tried to clode the gates, which failed. Hell then sent out s message to all robots saying "Blood is Fuel" and they all started going absolutely feral and killed off the rest of humanity, now their all in hell killing the souls of Sinners for the blood inside them. Then we get to V1 and V2 which were prototypes for a machine that was being made after the Layer 7 spoiler machine(which means V1 was made to destroy the apocalypse machinery). V2 came to hell first and then V1 came along and started killing everything, robot, sinner, didn't matter all he was looking for was Blood, then the rest is history... Oh Yeah also did i mention God is gone? yeah this sent Heaven into chaos and several people in Hell tried to rejuvenate certain Layers. Heaven was later put to peace again after a Council took leadership(they are super Corrupt) and Sent Gabriel to deal with the "Kings" in Hell. First was Minos who was the judge if hell before Gabriel(Gabriel took the title after killing him). Minos tried to make the Lust Layer livable as he thought Lust was an unfair sin. Sisyphus took the sinners in the Greed Layer and started a losing war against heaven(he knew it was a losing war but the act of defiance along was good enough for him) and then he was decapitated by Gabriel which when the Army saw their moral broke and quickly lost.

I can never recommend this game enough. In it, you play as V1, a prototype built during the last war of humanity that is fueled by blood. By the start of the game, humanity has gone extinct and hell has overrun earth. Your goal is ultimately survival, for which you need blood. With nobody left for you to get blood from, your only option is to venture into hell to consume the blood of the damned. There's a fair deal of lore in the background, which Max0r aludes to/parodies, some of which you can gather almost right out the gate, and the rest you can discover by beating secret lebels or special bosses that you can't access without having beaten each level of that act 'perfectly'.

So in regards to that last scene, this game has one of the coolest interpretations of angels' mindsets I've seen in a while. God made them to be holy, above everything else but Him. God made mankind to be below angels, and then man made V1 (the player), and so V1 is below mankind. In their eyes you are barely worth acknowledgment, so when Gabriel lost, rather than viewing V1 as a threat, they view Gabriel as a traitor, because it's inconceivable to them that an angel -the judge of hell no less- could lose except by choice. Hence the punishment. Also queue 420,000 comments about how Gabriel's VA is the real in-game VA.
