Hell of an accomplishment mate, well done. Those thoroughly-deserved desserts at the end looked incredible, too. Always remember: "Ice cream, giraffes, zebras"
Great job! Loved your video - one of the coolest and laid-back I've seen for a Disney race, especially one challenged with inclement weather. Looking forward to seeing your other Disney vids.
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve got quite a few more Disney videos in the pipeline over the coming weeks, with old key west next! Be sure to subscribe if you want to see them 🙂 And I won’t lie, my initial reaction to the half marathon was of disappointment, but after a short time I decided I wasn’t going to let it ruin anything and made the best of it that I could!
Congratulations! Extremely impressive. Great vibes and an excellent look at the logistics from registering to merch to parking. I really respect what you did on half marathon day knocking out the distance ahead of time. You made a subscriber out of me with your personalities and editing. Looking forward to more journeys in the future!
Thank you! You’ve got this 💪 8-9 months to get in those miles for training! I’d recommend using something like the Geoff Galloway method that runDisney provide, either that, or start off with very short distances, and slowly increase each week by about 10%, but not more, otherwise you increase the risk of injury. There’s plenty of guides online 🙃
WELL DONE!! Dopey is quite the challenge! I did it back in 2016 and I also had the exact same ice cream reward after lol Really enjoyed the vlog - I was actually in the marathon this year, would love to do Dopey again one day!
Great work! So awesome to see you guys cheering eachother on! I am doing the springtime suprise in a weeks time and I couldn't be more excited! Thanks for sharing!
You still need tickets for the parks if you plan on entering after the race. Spectators can enter specific places to cheer on but only for a limited time. However you don’t need park tickets to run the race. A lot of people don’t buy tickets, run the race, and even ride on a couple of rides, with expedition Everest in animal kingdom being the main one, as it will more than likely be a walk on during the race
Sucha lovely couple!!! What an inspiration! tryin to get back fit after surgery. done a couple disney 5ks but mate..... how long did you prep/train for the challange?
Thank you! Well done on the 5ks! It sounds like your recovery is going well! Keep it up 💪😎 And I trained for around 29-30 weeks in total specifically for this. Registration tends to be around April, and most people will begin training straight away, giving you plenty of time to do so I’m not a sports coach, but there are different ways to tackle it. You could follow the Jeff Galloway method (which is the official WDW training schedule), or do something like I did. I looked at my base fitness, and worked on slowly increasing distance and time by around 10% a week, with every 4th week being a rest week. I also made sure to incorporate a long run on the weekends, with it getting longer each week, and a few shorter, easier runs throughout the week. the key is to get your body used to the distance (not necessarily in one long run) over time to prevent injury
