I got update from android 9 to android 11 after 4 years…one plus q1 got android 11 update on 25th of feb 2024. It is running on android 9 from last 5 years
Its also much easier for companies to give longer software support for just a handful of Stick models versus hundreds of random TV models which never get updated frequently. But the TV companies know that selling TVs is more profitable than making their Sticks.
I have MI TV 4X (2020) with Android TV 9.0, and it still works fine and Android Versions stay relevant for much longer than iOS Versions, Android 7 in still fully Supported by all Apps, till now only some Apps lost support for Android 6, Androids can still be used 7-8 Years more after its updates are over, Android 9 was launched in 2020 and is gonna stay relevant and Functional till atleast 2027-2030, after that get a TV Stick
That's one of the reasons I bought Samsung Crystal 4k tv in 2021... For me the picture quality and UI in a TV is the most important factor to consider while buying a tv. I selected Samsung for that reason since I don't have much trust in the Chinese brands like Mi, Realme, OnePlus, Vu, etc. Our TV is performing great and still keep receiving updates every now and then. The Tizen OS is very smooth and takes just about 4-5 second to boot. It still lags sometimes but still several times better than Android. The app store is not that extensive like that of Android but still it has most of the necessary apps.
My sony TV X64L also has Google TV. Picture quality is good but software lags. On the other hand my Amazon fire TV stick 4k max 1st generation is still very smooth and fast. Alexa also performs very well through voice search as compared to Google assistant.
Intel and amd use different architecture for which is called x86-64 architecture. This architecture is known for higher performance, more power consuming and more heating. This is why pcs need a dedicated cooling solution. On the other hand, smartphones use another architecture which is called arm. This architecture is used in phones because it consumes less power, gives performance with battery saving (P+E cores) and doesn't need any dedicated cooling solution. Intel and amd specialize in making x86 processors. But qualcomm and mediatek are better at arm game. Intel previously tried to make smartphone processors in their atom lineup but it did not do well because it used CISC instruction set, heated up quickly and lack of adaptation between OEMs. In the coming years we can expect x86 to be replaced by arm processors. Apple M series and Snapdragon elite X series chips are good examples of this.
Update ni aate , lagg krta hai... Mere pass oneplus Y series hai 3 saal pehle liya tha lekin ab TV on kro to 5 min. Tak lagg krta hai... ,koi update nhi ni aata.. TV consumer itna jaldi jaldi ni badal sakta... Companies ko iske baare main sochna chahiye.. aur lagg free experience hona chahiye... Jaise phone brands promise krte hai andriod updates ki waise TV main bhi hona chahiye..

Recently bought Sony x74K 4K TV in BBD sale and connected it with my previously bought Apple tv 4K with A15 bionic chip and man the experience is crazy, works blazingly fast with no lag till date. Sad to see that even my new sony tv lags and stutters many times. Can’t even picture it out what’s gonna happen to it after 2-3 years 😕
Have the same tv and I agree the software experience is very average. I am planning to buy the apple tv. Can you tell if Sony's upscaling works on apple tv? Is there any difference in the picture quality if you watch movies or videos on native os vs apple tv?
I am using LG tv of 2020. 4k hdr webos 5. Just after 2 3 months they introduced webos 6 but didn't gave the update to all tvs. Only new tvs got it. Unfortunately they want more sales and think people change tvs after 5 yrs Max. Still it gives almost every app, ui is smooth but new features come very late. Updates are frequent, processor is good. No issues found until now.
I bought an apple tv with TV itself and its the best investment ever, i think manufacturers should not put better hardware as it would increase the cost of TV, they should just put a lightOs like WebOS and keep the prices low so that user can purchase streaming device based on his own liking and financial capability, for eg im using a TCL TV worth 50K with apple tv (total 75), there is no TV even from LG or samsung that will perform even close to my setup(even upto a lac), i think they couldve used even cheaper hardware in my TV so it would be priced at 45k or so and my total setup would be cheaper
i think it is fine with weak but normal processor and ram is enough for use. because we are not going to play heavy games on it . we are not doing multitasking on it , by old and normal processor we can get good performance and sustain environment by recycling them.
My family bought Panasonic CRT TV in 1998 and we are still using the same TV. Its been 25 years and still working fine. We also bought Sony LCD TV in 2016 but it stopped working in 2021 lol 😆
I am using Apple for more than a year now.. It's not just a tv box its a console, i can play all games of apple arcade on tv, using FaceTime on tv for family calls and doing alot.. Best thing about apple tv are support for multi tasking.. I can switch between apps without going back on home.. Its simplicity a fantastic buy
3 Gb Ram me koi dikkat nahi. Phone nahi hai ki koi multitasking karega aur multiple apps kholkar rakhega. Ek baar me log ek hi app dekhte hain. To memory me bahut sare apps rakhne ka koi matlab nahi hai. Concern inka storage hai. Apps bahut hain par install karne ke liye storage kam hai. Aur thoda slow bhi hota hai interface.
Hamne 2012 me low end 22" Sony LCD TV liya tha 15k me 😅 Only with Bravia Engine 3, Without Triluminous & X-Reality ke bhi picture & sound quality mast thi 😊 Even mene 4yrs tak as a PC monitor bhi use kiya 😅 Par last year 10yrs ki service dene ke baad isne dam tod diya 😢 Ab ham wapas CRT pr aa gye 😂
Purchased realme 4k smart tv in 2021 , no updates since 1.5 years But , No problem with performance Tried many apps Comes with 2gb ram and 16b storage Most used feature Chromecast 😂
I use mi box and it's been more than 3yrs and I haven't seen any lag in it and they are sending updates regularly. I haven't seen any issues that you have mentioned yet.
Just by firestick or apple box and change whenever needed 😂😂 I am also using fire stick for normal use and satisfied with it,but yes there is some lag problem while opening and closing sometime
@@notcliche14 As someone who has samsung tizen OS i would heavily recommend you to buy a tv which has android OS rather than tizen because many useful apps are missing from tizen app store. Google play sore cannot run natively and hence no adblocking apps can run which is frustrating. As to what you were asking smasung had tizen in most tvs i looked last year. Dont know currently
I am using airtel xstream box since 3 years .xstream box was running on andriod 9. Airtel not ensure to give update on box but yesterday my box got updated on andriod 11.

I think samsung UI is best in term of software experience and also give lag free experience i have samsung 55 inch which runs smooth and its panel quality is just wow
Bro, Tvs don't need 3-4 gb rams. No one uses TV for multitasking or play built-in games. And so far, Android OS is far better than LG'S WebOS and SS's Tyzen. And by the way, You're using ONE+ and expect to run it like Sony or LG.😂 Cheap price cheap quality.
Mera normal TV hai but Fire stick laga lia avi android se best chala raha hai...update to daily ata hai 3 saal se jada ho gaye ...First wala dost ko bech diya new gen wala le lia
I've used both Android TV and Samsung's Tizen OS too and Android TV is really really laggy and buggy and Tizen OS is smooth and fast compared to Android

Agree but I purchased redmi firetv 20 days ago and I received 3 updates in first 20 days.. acha hai firetv liya satisfied ya atleast better than Android tv google tv but multitask sucks But ram processor wagera 50k tv me bhi 5000 Wale mobile se bhi ghatiya rahta hai.. 😅😅 Aur han firetv app me bhi sirf basic control hi milte hai as a remote .. Useless
Just like Samsung Saved WearOS after using WearOS instead of TyzenOS, Google neesa to take help of Samsung again to revive TV. 1. Sony 2. Samsung 3. LG and if Samsung (who also provides panels to Sony) starts Giving Android TV, then ofc it will make sure to make it part of the Samsung Ecosystem, and that will mean faster CPU and more ram. which will force others to do the same. Goofle really needs to take help of Samsung again.

Mera ek dost Oct 2021 30k pr mi 4x 40 Inch tv buy Kiya tha 2 yaar warranty k sath But now 2023 now sep pa tv kharap ho Gaya Out of warranty repairing cost 24k 😅 Ab Mera dost mereko gali de Raha hy meh suggest kya tha 😢
