Anthony Edwards has struggled for the Minnesota Timberwolves in 4 of his last 6 playoff games, including game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks. #anthonyedwards #nba #timberwolves
I kept saying people and the media comparing Ant to MJ was a setup because once he plays bad people will inevitably turn on him. Now look where we are at now.
The saltines already think Jokic Christ is the best player that ever lived. They compare him to greats all the time. No one bats an eye. He got eliminated and none of these Tubers have made videos about Jokic blowing a 20 pt lead. It's a RU-vid hit job buddy.
@@peytonfechter3438 okay then let's look at their first option Luka. You wanna go look at his individual game playoff stats and tell me he hasn't had demonstrably worse games than Ant? Even though he's supposed to be a tier above him? And before you tell me about his knee, go back and watch Ant fall on his tailbone in Game 6 against Denver. He hasn't played the same since
Nothings wrong with him. He's a 22 year old who led his team to a conference finals. Idiots in the media compared him to MJ and put a massive bullseye on his back, now fans dont like him and are junping on every bad game he has
Most of these people worship Jokic Christ and are taking out their frustration on Ant. The 3X MVP blew a 20 point lead and this guy was silent. Kyrie Stats vs OKC: 12 pts in Game 5 9 pts in Game 4 9 pts in Game 2 Not a sound.
@@DefenderOfLogic Most people aren't paying attention to bad games from Kyrie, Chet, or Jokic because of their box scores and low leadership of teams (specifically Chet and Kyrie for leadership and Jokic because he almost always has great stats). Luka and Ant are absolute targets right now. The one game Luka scored under 20 he got in so much heat for his poor performance. The expectations of ANT being MJ's son put him on the radar of a lot of people who didn't know his actual statline. People will hate him because of that, that he's so successful at 22, and once he performs badly (and seemingly is on a couple of game stretch), people will troll, hate, and call him in a fraud. It's the internet, people will find any freaking excuse to ridicule a player.
Teams are 0-14 when coming from a Game 7 against a team that didn't play a Game 7. So it's not surprising MN lost. What's surprising is we led most of the game and only lost by 3. A few calls going the other way and we would have been the 1st team to ever win after a Game 7 like that.
The what if game is dangerous because if the Mavs hit more than 24% of their 3s the lead would’ve been larger. I think the problem with Ant is that guarding Kyrie involves a lot of off ball defense and chasing him around the perimeter. If MN wants to be in a better position they need McDaniels to guard Kyrie so he can save his legs for offense. Ant isn’t a bad defender but having him guard Kyrie all game limits MN offense.
@@cheesesardinesexacttllly I remember Austin Reaves said when he guarded steff curry it made his offense horrible he couldn't feel his legs couldn't create his own shots...there are other players on Minnesota who's just as good on defense as ANT and is not the main offensive tool for the team...
Players guarded by Ant are shooting 38.9% in the playoffs. Best in the NBA. So I'd say he's meeting that responsibility on D in the playoffs, to the say the least.
Most of the players he guarded were injured or skinny like KD, Luka and Kyrie literally was hunting for edwards lol, If he is so good why don't timberwolves make him the primary defender for Luka? Let me tell you why because Luka will average about 50pts lol.
@@djkido316no he wouldn't average 50 edwards will average 10 pts because he gonna be chucking 3s because he's tired and kyrie is no different from luka they are very similar in offensive power...
he kept getting doubled and the defense are built to make it tough on him and force him to make the right plays, that’s why all their role players are getting huge buckets and stepping up. ant is him
Why is no one mentioning game 6 where he literally fell badly on his back and was down for a good minute + in pain. Yeah, he's obviously banged up, hope he continues to push through it like he has shown us he can do
Jamal Murray struggled with a calf strain for the entire playoffs, and then had to face some of the best perimeter defenders in the league. When he didn’t play well, people said he was overrated, and this is a guy that won a ring as a top 2 option. I don’t want to hear excuses for Ant now.
lmao he’s 22 you’re a casual if you dont think he’s had an impact even in games where he’s been a “no show” he’s created shots for others especially in game 7 if you actually watched the games
U can literally see his impact even in the scores any team with their 2 stars damn near 3 because mc daniels was off as well shooting that horrific should get blown out and the games still close I mean thats a no Brainer ant is giving the team good looks time and time again..
I think when hes rhw only major on ball threat defenses will do everything to make the rest of the team beat them. So I dont really blame ant tbh, hes still really impactful by creating opportunities
He has that turnover right before half time while they were up 6 and that left enough time for Kyrie to get an and 1. I said to myself, why pass when you could have gone to the rim or at least hold for final shot, and also knew that would bite them in the end of a close game.
Exactly...he held the ball to the last like 7 seconds and then passed it horribly...I cud not understand that..I think he was nervous...it's not the first time he's doing that exact thing...he's not actually as confident as he likes to talk but he's young...I cudn't do shit at 22 let alone lead a billion dollar franchise
Hes young his body is not accustomed to deep play off runs and to make it worst they just played 7 vs the champs won 1 game by near 50 and came back from down 20 I won't be surprised if they got swept they are absolutely gassed Denver sent them through the wringer
@@lestonclark2398 yea that’s fair. They also play every other night for the whole series. In the Denver series they had 2-3 days off between some games. Idk why the schedule is worse for this round
For a 22 year old ,taking down Nba champions like Jokic,Murray and phoenix Suns :KD, Booker and Beal, he is not allowed to learn or make mistakes ..man I'd be surprised if all these critics can even make their junior high school team.Keep the same energy!!
Wolves are lowkey a super team. They have 2 all stars, the dpoy, the 6moty, multiple all defense guys, even a coach of the year candidate. They’re stacked. I don’t want to hear excuses if they lose.
Yes and no, they are still a young team some of their best players are still under 25 (Naz, JD, and Ant) even if they lose this year they still had a good year the rebuild was way quicker than anyone expected
"Superteam" is a weaponized term, usually meant to imply that superstars decided to team up and play together instead of compete against one another. MN is not that. This team is mostly constructed through the draft naturally.
What I took away from the game was they were able to lock Ant down but the wolves were still competitive. This series is going to be a grind and out one.
@@letmesleepinpeace7052 Stop it, OKC vs Mavericks all games were decided by single digits and Luka played 41 minutes every game yet he dropped 15 points in the 4th with both his knees bleeding, Ant is overrated just accept it and move on.
@@jonathand.t.5051 Stop it, OKC vs Mavericks all games were decided by single digits and Luka played 41 minutes every game yet he dropped 15 points in the 4th with both his knees bleeding, Ant is overrated just accept it and move on.
You all compared him to MJ. He came out dispelling that conversation. There has been no game where he was a no show. The last game he almost had a triple double. Clearly teams are ensuring he doesn’t kill them and is forcing the ball out his hands.
36% is not a bad FG attempt cuz he not always shotin the most shots on his team. plus he like the highlighter of the team. when he shoot it do make the team chemisty n moral go up. he could actually shoot more it might go his percent a bit. He on his way to become the next top player in da league. so good to see Jokic went home!!!! Tha leage is cool again
What about this. If KAT is shooting the best from 3 from everybody else in these playoffs, why not get him 10 to 15 attempts per game? Give him the Steph Curry greenlight.
Can somebody explain to me why he is a 95 on 2k!!! And people like Jamal Murray have a 89 and Kyrie is a 93 but Ant is not better than either of them at all just athletic.
Other that his shooting percentages, he hasn't been playing bad at all. Drawing double & triple teams has been creating tons of open looks for his teammates and he's been capitalizing on that (dishing out 6-8 open 3s a game for a shooting guard is great). Players guarded by Ant are shooting 38.9% in the playoffs. That's the best individual D in the NBA right now. So sure, his scoring totals have been down over 4 of the last 6 games and he needs to improve on that. But i wouldn't go as far as to say he's playing bad. That would be a very 1 dimensional take on a multidimensional game.
I saw this problem in the Denver series i said besides kat who is really not that good for his skill set ant the only player who can really go get a bucket without needing to be set up kat at times yes but hes not aggressive enough and takes bad shots/dumb shots at times so i mean thos team is great but they need someone to help with the offensive load like if they dont win the title i think going after like demar or pascal bc that would add to their defense and a 3 person who could get their own shot but idk if they could get him bc pascal gonna want alot and the could go for lonzo whos a 2way player and a great playmakers and shooter and defender at the point they got options it just can they get them bc idk is the wolves a attractive spot for FA now bc of how good they are like i think if they lose demar or pascal could put them over the edge essentially pascal bc he can defend at a high level in the post and perimeter
So basically he cant handle the kinda Defense that Tatum sees every game?..lol. But he better though?..lol. Ant just not used to that 1 box yet. They making playmake n settle for top of arc threes. He got decide quicker how he wants to manipulate
Dallas is going to have to steal every game to win the series. Kyrie and Luka both had 30 and they only won by 3 with Ant having a low scoring output. what happens when they have a bad shooting night? Timberwolves look like the favorite to actually win because of defense and more depth but it’s ultimately on Ant to be the deciding factor
It’s easy, he’s fatigued🤷♂️ He was sucking on Oxygen while on the bench. He’ll be fine. I remember Kobe shooting 3 air balls in the Playoffs and everyone rippin on him. Dudes like him, feed off failure and it drives them.
No need to do mental gymnastic wolves played Suns in the first round who doesn't play a lick of defense, Played denver in the second round where jokic was gassed because they don't have any other center on the bench and nuggets were playing bad defense all playoffs look at Lakers series, Mavs on the other end played OKC and Clippers who are #1 and #2 on offense and top 5 in defense and hold them to 100 points in 10 out of 12 games, So the mavs is the first defensive challenge wolves faced all playoffs long so now you will see wolves actual production not some inflated numbers against bad defensive teams lol.
This whole narrative is crazy. He was saying hes excited to matchup against Kyrie. Everyone pushing this like he said he was going to lock Kyrie up. No one can listen i swear
@@crowman34 normally yeah that’d be true but this is the same moron who bragged about locking up Jamaal Murray after Murray dropped 35 on him. Dudes an idiot
What’s wrong with Anthony Edwards? Is he injured? No reports that he is. Maybe is the fact that he has to guard Kyrie Irving + the Mavs defence was great, not letting him get to the rim and forcing him to shot mid-ranges (not very efficient type shots), so he just took 3pts the whole game.
