Can't wait to see him rise up through the ranks by calling out his fellow police officers, arresting the bad apples and actively working to change the culture from within despite his union, chief and political masters.
It's much more of people hate law enforcement as a whole, so they will attack any police officer, even if they have never seen their conduct once. It's kind of like how racist individuals will attack Asian or African American individuals, even if they don't know their character.
As a policeman I want to give an example. I was dispatched to a car wreck scene in which a driver was apparently racing and caused a 4 vehicle crash. Our department gets there and obviously the driver was recklessly driving at very high speeds. The scene just made him guilty specially with all the witnesses and victims who gave a statement accusing him of racing. All in all, the driver is arrested and I was given the honor to process him and do and file all his paper work. It took about one hour and 30 minutes for complete final statement. And another 3 hours to file all the paperwork and get that inmate booked.
@@TheAeasy19It is an everyday thing to be honest. If you make an arrest, pull someone over, or are trespassing someone. Filing a police report for a stolen car/ property. Just things like that involved paperwork, writing and having to collect all names, data, addresses, statements. Dude I promise you it can be a lot- mostly on an arrest especially felony arrest involving death, bodily injury weapons, or drugs. Traffic stops are easiest if it’s just a quick citation. Like 10-15 minutes.
My uncle was a cop for 26 years. I wanted to be a cop when I was younger and he actually talked me out of it because he said it's the most corrupt organization in our country only second to the corruption of our government. He loved me so much he didn't want me to be a part of any of that. The reason people say all cops are bad is because the good cops never say anything because of The Thin Blue Line.
I remember a friend asked me once "What's it like being a cop in NY?" My response was "Have you ever played GTA? Yeah people yelling as you drive by, people randomly fighting, crazy drivers... etc"
Yeah for me I really like helping people and I’m very fond of police work and would like to do it as a career buttt im not the best at punctuation and my handwriting is defff not the best
@@xxtruepainxx492 you don’t have to have perfect handwriting have you ever got a speeding ticket look at the cops handwriting 90% of them you can’t even understand it’s not about good handwriting it’s about helping your community and helping someone that’s in need of your assistance. Basically cop stands for citizen on patrol, that’s what it’s really about who cares about your handwriting I write like a 10-year-old kid and I’m sure I’ll be just fine when I pass my test
Oh no there is… when you give people citations or more popular word ticket then you have to do the mathematics to calculate the amount they have to pay so yes there is mathematics in policing

Paperwork Paperwork Paperwork !!! The man nailed it. Community meetings, gripes, concerns, complaints. Take notes, listen, write memo clear, concise and accurate. Present to supervisors the key issues folks want addressed. Going about "walk & talk" while getting out of your cruisers, the same. What's going on. What do you see, what do you hear. Pass it on to patrol bosses. Present for Roll-Call. Reports from vandalism, to robbery to homicide. The the initial who, what, where, when, why & how. The Canvassing. The complaints forms, chapter, section & briefs. The articulating as to the why for applying for warrants. Presenting your arguments and reasons for negotiating contracts or applications for grants for training, equipment, programs, projects, task-forces. Articulating the whys for whens in having press conferences, public hearings, community outreach.......All involve the understanding, the speaking, writing, reading and yes translating properly the English Language. The day to day, business language used in Policing..........

I LOVE to watch this show called "COPS" and I discovered the show when I was at my Uncle's house when I was probably 5 or 6 and I INSTANTLY fell in love with it. And now I'm addicted to watching it again 8 years later. (Watch it)
Good and honest answer. Like the Medical field, a lot of certain jobs are accurate documentation in English! Accurate speech and documentation prevents the lawsuits which is important in a day and age of people thinking they CAN sue. Objective, precise, as accurate as a body cam. Right on!
Want to be a cop? Remember these things. 1. Your job is to enforce the law. Not feelings 2. Do not, under any circumstances, violate peoples rights. 3. You are a public servant. 4. You have no authority over law abiding citizens. 5. If you’re scared of everything don’t be a cop.
You do anything or get in some kinda issue you have to write a report for it and additional paperwork. You have to spell every word write or theyll hand it back to you😂
I like both aspects. I’m glad to know it doesn’t have quite as much math included, i’ve always enjoyed writing papers, reading articles, and english class.
I did a career day yesterday and I told everybody to get good at writing and get good at talking to people because you’ll do those two things more than anything else.
I’ve always wanted to be a first responder i think it would be very fulfilling but i always thought i wasn’t cut out but im so ready to try it out now and i hope one day i can be on duty saving a persons life.
Make sure you are not racist. Make sure you don’t have mental issues. Make sure you don’t have a former record. Make sure you are emotionally stable. MAKE SURE OF THAT AMERICA
If you want to be a police officer here are some things you need to being a c student always helps you're smart enough to do the paperwork but dumb enough not to get it right bully or nerd that got bullied also helps gives you great you have to respect my authority
Cop is what I will die just to become, I understand the reality vs expectation about this business and this is what I'm preparing in my entire life, I don't only need to become good at marksmanship or holding a gun but also a wide vocabulary and extensive skills on paper works.
It doesn’t matter if you write good or not as long as it’s readable, you’ll be all right modern technology. It’s all on computer now that’s why there is a laptop in your car just saying.
Honestly, when I was younger, i wanted to be a police. Cuz im saying the cars are cool, wanna help the community and fight crime, but now I'm like, nah these criminals ain't fighting no more. They shooting. Like ur life is in every situation, from a traffic stop to a murder investigation
