So when you break that down it was approx $35 per head which is quite reasonable. It cost me around $1500 for 10 days & I thought that was worth it as it paid for accommodation, meals, traveling, admission price for various places we visited plus airfares to & from Sydney to Launceston. You were very fortunate to find 13 free campsites which was a great help to your costing, plus the other campsites seem very cheap in comparison to a lot of places on the mainland. Then you were blessed with a great season without too much rain etc to spoil your stay. Thank you for taking us along as I will be watching the videos again & probably again after that!! So much more interesting that just going through 2 very large albums of photos as I can almost smell some of the places as I watch your videos & it brings my trips more to life. So a very special thank you for that!! I am looking forward to your next adventures, in the meantime I hope that you are enjoying the wet weather coming your way as SA has been very dry as well whilst you were away taking advantage of the weather. Here in Sydney's west we are freezing with the very cold southerly wind coming up from the Antarctic!! It wouldn't be so bad if the electricity were only half the price it is today but those in the highlands are happy as they need the snow its bringing to bring the visitors!! Also many of them have wood fires!! 😂

We were very happy with the cost per day, we were not trying to do it entirely on the cheap but it did work out a lot less that what we had first allowed. We had heard that Tasmania was great for free and low cost camping, something that we found out to be correct. The weather was great for us while there, a result of it being so dry everywhere. It is very cold hear in Adelaide at the moment as it is in a lot of the mainland. Glad you enjoyed our trip videos, something that we will look back on for a very long time to come🙂

Hi Mick & Sally - excellent summary on your Tasmania travels with places to go, camp place special and the costs wrapped up - tops Question in relation to heating in the van - do you have gas or diesel heating?
@justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 8 дней назад
We have gas heating in our van👍
@raymondpaulet1683
@raymondpaulet1683 8 дней назад
Thanks for that 👍 - can you advise why you picked gas against diesel? I am trying to appreciate the benefits of both - I would have thought you would have had diesel with the diesel LC. I have considered gas heating to keep the combustible materials to only 2 - I have an old 4.5 litre petrol engine , so carrying diesel for heating and having gas on board does not seem to make sense 🧐 Appreciate you thoughts - thanking you in advance- Raymond

@@raymondpaulet1683 we had the gas heater fitted possibly 8 to 10 years ago and at that stage I am not too sure if diesel heaters were even available back then, for some reason gas was the go. Gas heaters are more user friendly to others camped near you because of the reduced noise and smoke that is given off, particularly during the initial start up period. Gas heaters are now very expensive when compared to diesel heaters and the gas has to be fitted by a licensed gas fitter where the diesel heaters can be fitted by anyone. If we were to buy another caravan and there was an endless supply of money, we would go for a gas heater for sure. In saying that, with the cost of everything now a days, I don't really know which one I would now have fitted. We have never owned a caravan diesel heater so our knowledge is somewhat limited other than what we have seen and heard while around vans with either fitted. The need to keep fresh diesel in a small tank to run the heater with versus gas in a bottle makes the gas more user friendly to me.

Hello Mick & Sally Thank you for the great information on your situation- very much appreciate you comments about the choice of heater. I understand the fitting and pricing , being gas the dearer to install 🙄 against diesel I like the idea of less noise and smell with the gas, plus only travelling with 2 fuels ( petrol - car & gas for cooktops for us) The other thing I read was that gas is very efficient to operate 👍 A decision, will be biting the bullet and going for it 😬👍 Again , appreciate your comments on the selection and your travels around Australia Highest regards- All the best to you both Raymond

Thoroughly enjoyed your informative trip around Tassie. Thank you for sharing. And to top it off, the breakdown costs that you provided. May i ask, how many kilometers in (approximate) total?
@justcruisinwithmicksally837
@justcruisinwithmicksally837 5 дней назад
While on Tasmania, we covered a total of 4,134kms. The entire trip was 7,745kms which was Adelaide - Tasmania - Adelaide.
