Thank you for your kind comment! I appreciate it. 1st timer! You're going to have an amazing trip. Tokyo for certain, but any other cities you plan to visit?
Thank you much, man! I really appreciate the kind words. Lucky you! An entire month is ideal. Gives you plenty of time venture around. What was your favorite thing about Tokyo?
😂 Dude, this is actually true. Ate $12 worth of donuts, walked right back to the counter and bought the same order, again. $24 in 20 minutes. Thanks for watching, man. I really appreciate it. 😎❤️
I really hope you get to, Lorena! 🤗 JPop everywhere! Sometimes just massive concerts in the middle of the day in completely unexpected places. And, of course, Disneyland, Studio Ghibli, and so much more. Thanks for watching! I really appreciate you. 🥰❤️
@@gumerzambrano Incredible parks! But, yeah, it can definitely wear you out. There's so much to see and do that you feel you have to do it all in such a short timeframe.
The $500/mo apartments will typically range in 150-280/SqFt. They are not spacious. But, they're quaint, equipped with what one would need, and walking distance to a grocery store, izakaya, convenience store, and a train station that will get you anywhere in the city.
@@devinbutler3271 This is very true. If you are being paid in USD, your money will go a very long way. If you are receiving JPY, you'll want to be cautious.
You are correct. Next time I will address the costs as a couple. Duh! Can't believe I forgot that part. Double the food and transportation budgets. Communication is just another cellular plan. As for housing, if you're a couple, most likely will share the same bedroom, so no increase there. But, if you both require your own bed, then that cost will increase. I'd say $3000/mo for a couple coming from a Western country.
That’s right! If you hit the minimum spend, which is like $35, you don’t pay taxes. Just show your passport. So bring it everywhere, if you intend to shop. 🤑
Really should be a consideration, if ever the opportunity arises for you. It can be quite affordable, and so much to do with incredible public transportation. Lots to explore! Thank you for watching. 🥰❤️
Don't let youtube videos fool you though. Without a work visa you can only stay 3 months, properties can legally refuse to rent to a foreigner and most don't want to, Japanese government red tape is a thing to behold, and its a very different culture from what most westerners are used to. Just because it is currently cheap for outsiders until the yen gets stronger again does not mean there is anything easy about this or even realistic for most of us.
@@shawnbell6392 Definitely some truth to your comment. The renting thing can be quite difficult, but very easy once you contact agencies offering "serviced apartments," which are becoming quite popular. And they span all price points, and are plentiful. As for the visa, Japan allows (2) 90-day visas, making it hassle-free to stay 6 months out of the year. Popping over to South Korea for a weekend is both convenient and affordable when needing to do a visa run. Even easier with the 6-Month Digital Nomad Visa. And with the sheer number of available longterm visas, the large majority of those interested will certainly find one that suits them. Overall, our experience has been quite easy, and have not experienced any type of red tape that we could not solve within the day. Are you also a traveler in Tokyo? What has been your experience?
Thank you for watching! I appreciate it. You know, the shorter you stay, the more expensive everything becomes. However, if you live there, prices begin to normalize. I would say it’s roughly 1/3 the cost of living in an equivalent city in the US. Stay tuned - next month I begin touring more properties in Tokyo, and cover aspects of living there, full-time.
