What it Feels Like to Play Phasmophobia for the First Time

I don't know if anybody has suggested this to the devs. When you have a mimic it would be nice to have an extra stats page at the end of the round that lists all of the stages the mimic went through that round. So there would be a page with a list, in order, of all the ghosts it turned into. That would be extremely useful information.

Playing phasmo for the first time feels terrifying. I'll remember my first game forever

My heart rate would hit 120+ just playing the tutorial back in January when I started playing Phasmo. Now, around 150 hours played later, I've completed the 24x Sunny Meadows Gold challenge and play mostly 24x Sunny Meadows in order to get a perfect game (including the bone), which is insanely hard but also a very fun challenge.

When I first started playing Phasmo, it was pretty freaky. But I had your videos to help me find my way through the ghosts. Now don't get me wrong, there's still Plenty of scary moments in this game and that's just fine with me.

Playing Phas went from being scared to going into the door to trying to get a kiss from the ghost and laughing at it and calling it a bitch. There is no inbetween.

Fun fact about italian: it may be me but the word to turn off Ouija board (arrivederci) isn't as responsive as "goodbye" in english so you have to do it 2/3 times for the ouija to turn off.

True noob challenge. Play only with the basic equipment. Also can't check for the ghost special abilities, just the 3 evidences.

I remember my first game, It was on ridgeview and we were about to leave but I wanted to take a picture of salt (which did nothing since it was 2020) and then it hunted, I got scared and stood next to the door looking outside just waiting for my death 😂

Just found your channel a few days ago and it’s sososo entertaining!! I play it with my gf who is SO good at it, and I thought “huh he makes it look so easy.” I have never been the same since my first match LMAO

I got spirit box in my first game ever, which was just over a month ago. I hadn't watched any update videos yet... so I was only familiar with the OG spirit box of "adult, death, etc." So when a creepy "I'm behind you" came out, I literally ran and hit the button on the truck and took a wild guess at the thing.

The only thing I don’t like about Phasmo is that you never really get another experience like those first few games where you don’t know anything about any of the ghosts, can’t distinguish a hunt vs event, and so on. I’ve been chasing that feeling since but it’s just not quite as scary as it was at first. Stupidly fun though when you know what you’re doing (thanks to you😭)!

As someone who only plays on Amateur because I am a wuss, here a few thing's I've learned 1. You can't make it around the house in time if you don't sprint/ a faster speed 2. writing is one of things that never happens as often. 3. Spirt box also doesn't want to work most of the time 4. Freezing takes forever without another person playing with you.

I have a challenge for you Insym: Escape the game while taking every object that the ghost has interacted with to the truck! If you grabbed all of the items, you can count at end game and see how many interactions you had in the stats board after the game ended.

Here's a similar challenge to this one: -> Try to find the ghost type before the timer runs out and survive a cursed hunt (inside the house): - Setup Timer (in minutes) and Cursed Possessions (random type) per map size: 3 for Small (10-15 rooms); 4 for Medium (16-20 rooms); 5 for Big (21+ rooms); - No smudge sticks nor pills allowed (but crucifixes and tarot cards are allowed) - 50% sanity (so you can get hunted but also be able to use cursed itens) - 150% ghost speed and 0s grace period - 125% player speed and 6s recharge for sprint All other settings (like breaker, sprint duration, sanity drain, hiding places, open mic, hunt, roam and room change, monitors, etc.) are up to you. Have fun! XD

For me personally when I first played the game it was this: -Was with a friend who was also kinda new to Phasmo -Walked up to the door and realized we forgot the key -I ran back to the truck the moment I heard the ghost -I stayed by the front door yelling at my friend to be careful -I got brave enough to go back into the house only to run out again when I SAW the ghost for the first time -My friend died -I ran back inside only to die too lol But thank you for this video!! I should probably also learn each way to tell which ghost is

bro the first time i played phasmo was mostly because of your channel, but i was also so scared i barely finished the tutorial

i will remember my first phasmo game forever. around November 2020 was when i first got the game, my friend had told me to get it after watching a few videos so you can imagine our skill level (not good at all 😭) we hopped into an ridgeview amateur game, i got the uv light to "see" and basically we just ran around scared for about 10 minutes, not knowing what to do. i remember trying to get fingies until it began hunting, which we then ran upstairs and just stayed together until the ghost killed me first lol. we never actually figured out the ghost but it turned out a phantom and ive been playing on and off ever since!

You should make a video where you are just trolling chat doing the most outrageous things like carrying wrong items and mixing up ghosts on purpose.

Challenge idea… Fathersym: Start with only a flashlight and 2 crucifixes. You can unlock a random item each time the ghost eats a crucifix. Unlock 2 items if the ghost eats it while in your hand. 0 sanity is a given. The power of Insym compels you!

By the way, I don't know when this video was taken, but the "time in the truck" statistic might be high because you recently did the "hide-and-seek items" challange where you waited a long time in the truck :D

I wish the book was more helpful to new players, especially the fact if you select orbs it marks out the mimic. I was talking to a trio of not new players (like level 500+) that thought the Thaye just decayed over time not because of proximity to ghost

I would say this would help me but I can't even walk into the house. On the other hand, my daughter just strolls in and plays on nightmare like some pro. XD

God damn....I was missing phasmo and boom 💥

Playing low sanity + no pills, 150% ghost and 0s grace period makes the setup timer feel as loud as that clock on 24h (show). The cold sweat of insta-death incoming. You end up bringing all the crucifixes, smudges, lighters and candles. XD One thing i do is set an emergency smudge stick with lighter besides a working glowstick in the way to my hideout. That way i can have a smudge-on-the-go/drive-thru while running from the ghost. XD (Btw, thanks for listening to my suggestion!

i think the true amateur challenge would be using only starter items, no smudge, no nothing.

My first phasmo game was at my friend’s house. He told me to go prison, and I just walked around, wondering why my flashlight was flickering. I realize now that there was a ghost hunting. (In case you’re wondering, this was a long time ago. So, your equipment would glitch even if the ghost was far away.)

Nightmare mode but every minute the wheel spins and deletes one of your items

The first time i played phasmo solo i got the red light ghost event and the light didn't go away after it was done. I just ran out of the house for like 10min when i went back i got hunted and it caught me through my (very bad) hiding spot

Should've also gone with starter equipment only, for the true "amateur noob experience". Since you're unlikely to have lots of money for all the fancy equipment at the start.

For a true amateur challenge, it should have been all hiding spots available but no smudge sticks. Newbies always die from smudging too late or too soon and don't know how to break line of site, so they don't use it. They always jump into the nearest closet at the slightest hint of a ghost lol

I figured out my first ghost! The game is very laggy and I had to play with no sound and no mic. I got EMF 5 and Freezing Temps, seen lots of ghost events back to back, couldn't get orbs, writing, definitely couldn't get spirit box for the reasons stated above, pieced 2 and 2 together, thought "Twinteractions?" I was right, I'm so proud of myself. THANK YOU SO MUCH for your videos, I've learned so much watching you over the last couple years. 🥰

Try starting at the easiest possible difficulty at a map, and increase it slowly, until multiplier hits 24 times

I have an idea for you if you want, and that is play custom difficulty with 0 sanity and 150 movement speed for yourself and ghost and try to guess what is the ghost only with 1 hunt and if the ghost hunts you once you have to leave and guess what was that ghost. I guess you can also change setting by yourself it's up to you but overall suggest is that guess the ghost only with 1 hunt :D

I remember my first time playing, I screamed so loud just for listening to the airball event sound in my ear, I had Never played a horror game and I was SO not expecting it, I knew in this game you could hear when the ghost started hunting and it wasn't a jumpscare so that's what motivated me to play... that event make me jump out of my seat 😂 now they're just annoying as fuck because I can't even get a photo

The first time I played I stayed for 5 min at the main door just looking inside. And yes, I died to a shade. In the bathroom, with the head in the toilet and the ass in the bathtub... with the flashlight on.

My first time playing phasmo is with my friend and.. Man... We were making a hella big fuss on the radio, doing one step forward and two step backwards, crouching all the way while holding a crucifix; and this happened before we even got INTO the house LMAOOO 😭😭😭 I will never forget the first time we stepped in, and the ambience sound immediately changes, ugh... SHIVERS. 💀

I think it should be if you cause a cursed hunt during a setup period, it should wait until it reaches zero or the player next enters the house after to start the hungt

Amateur isn't "more difficult" than higher difficulties. A major part of playing phasmo is risk management and the main thing easier difficulties do is reducing the risk the game presents it's players. It doesn't make the game harder per se, it cuts down on some high risk high reward strategies. As a result, the game slows down significantly for someone experienced enough to handle high risk high reward strategies comfortably, but an inexperienced player who wouldn't be able to take advantage of those is more protected from accidentally stumbling into them and failing. Inexperienced players are presented with a slightly less nuanced game which is good because it allows them to eas into the game more gradually and they don't get overwhelmed as much. But for skilled players the lack of high risk options kind of holds back their potential. Quite honestly I think that's a genius way to balance the game. Rather than a flat out statistical difficulty difference the different settings affect how comfortable they are to play depending on what type and experience level the player is at. Amateur reduces the access to more advanced strategies and situations so inexperienced players are less at risk of stumbling upon them and failing which is good for them. But more experienced players that are able to handle these comfortably are being withheld access to their most effective strategies, which for them makes the game slower and and less efficient than what they're used to, which may be percieved as "harder".
