I respect transwomen and have nothing against them but I don't like to be called cis or fish, why can't we just have women and transwomen? I also don't see men that date transwomen as gay, they are bisexual and should disclose that so we women can choose to pursue that relationship or not
The Latin prefix cis- is the direct opposite of trans- (trans meaning "across from" or "on the other side of", cis meaning "on the same side of".) If we should use transwomen to denote a person is on the "other side" of the female gender construct, why can't we use cisgender to denote a person who is "on the same side" of the female gender construct? I respect your right to choose what you should be called, but you're saying we should give trans people a label without applying the opposite label to non-trans people.
@Freddie purple Neither cis- nor trans- are exclusive to chemistry…the etymology of both of prefixes existed before they were used to describe chemical reactions, hence other uses like the Transatlantic slave trade or Cis-Alpine Gaul (an ancient region in Italy whose name has been in use since 1542!) Your example illustrates my point perfectly. The prefixes are being used correctly to describe the Trans and non-Trans community and to think they were co-opted from others as a means of inclusion is highly incorrect, they are simply using describers that have already been in English (read: not chemical) language for centuries.

The thing is they never had to because its wayyy easier to become a trans man and for the testosterone to come through which we all have a percentage of as humans. Therefore man trans men look like biological men alot easier some times.

The thing I find very confusing is that society wants us to believe that it is not important what you have between your legs and we can't define people based on what they have down there. On the other hand sex reassignment surgery is a major deal to transgender women and they often feel complete and happy only after this has taken place. So why can it be an issue for them and not for the people who are born with it? Also, I caught a lot of heat from trans people one time when I stated that I think that they shouldn't be judged at all cause I seriously think there is some biochemical/hormonal disbalance going on what makes them who they are, it happens. A lot of them were coming for me and said that I was condescending and describing them as a problem by saying that. But when they say, they feel that they are born in the wrong body, that seem to be an okay thing to say. I mean, how can you have an open conversation when people are quick to call you homophobe. Sometimes I have a feeling they just don't want to deal with tough questions which I understand but don't go calling people names because they don't understand everything at once🤷🏽♀️
You are so right biological women are beautiful most of the time. It's just like a newborn baby all babies are not pretty. So we can't say all biological women are pretty okay. Claudia, thank you and Fox Soul for having these uncomfortable (yet necessary) conversations. Even though there was a level of caution when discussing, it was great to see that it is possible for trans and cis women to be open. I specifically appreciated when Dominique asked about Lil Mama being able to express her thoughts and how everything is not done out of malice. I have been looking forward to more Fox Soul programming (mainly with Claudia) because I like that it feels "grown" and "refreshing". In a world that is already too much, it's better to be proactive.
