You forget to mention that when they get to those 140 odd destinations, they are exhausted from being on their feet for between 7 to 14 hours and they spend most of the lay over time sleeping or resting for the return flight.

I used to work on a luxury cruise ship in the Caribbean and Bahamas, and all I did of my off days, was sleep in my cabin, not explore the islands

@@alangray83 I don't know about other parts of the world, but compared to other jobs in USA and Europe, 32k isn't a lot. Rather make 70 k and get taxed to 60k. Still a lot better

My wife served 1st class at Emirates for over 2 years. She was and is very hard working I must say but Emirates itself doesn't really care for its employees especially those who aren't local Emiratis.

Their salary stinks compared to the crap they have to put with especially in the economy class. I flew emirates business few years ago and their service was excellent as good as Etihad. Business class in any of the US flights is lousy.

Salary stinks? I wonder where in the world you must be? I’m a flight attendant with emirates and my salary is 15000 AED around 3000GBP that’s excluding the 5000 AED 1000 gbp they pay monthly for your rent you can choose to keep it and rent a cheaper place or stay in a luxury accommodation and they pay for your transportation to and from the airport and home and your bills are paid for, only the Middle East pay this kind of money

You people don't understand why dubai doesnt have tax right? To 1: attract more investors , to increase population density etc... in Dubai they tend to hire people such as refugees or poor people in general and provide a low salary

FlamingosCanFly Gulf Air is a very good airline too, very good service the different is not a lot with Emirates , personally I think you just need to get yourself point A to B and it doesn’t matter what or how you fly when we would go to New York first class ticket was around 6000 USD and economy was 800 USD everyone got off to the same city and it amazed me how people could spend so much money just for the comfort of less then a day which for most of it you stay asleep.

The dark side: my mom was a flight attendant in the 60s. She could not wear her much needed glasses (not pretty enough) and was required to quit when she married or turned 30, whichever came first. Imagine having to leave your career, with hours of specialized training, at 30. She joined several strikes to have rules changed over the years, and worked 40 years! Not quite as hot, but nice, attentive and more competent.

When I was cabin crew for Qatar airways I always wanted to be a Emirates flight stewardess because I thought they must be having a lot of freedom than we had in Qatar airways but then later I got to know their rules aren't different their rules are pretty much same to the one's we've been following the only difference was in the Life insurance provided by the airline Qatar airways claim any hospital bill but Emirates only claim Emirates clinic bills .

I have flown on many airlines to a number of countries & Emirates Airlines is my favorite!! The stewardesses are the BEST! The food is great, & their fares are often the most affordable! Highly recommend them!!!!!!

They'll definitely need to spend their bucks on a good pair of hearing aids later down the track. I hear that a good pair of hearing aids are quite pricey. No joke. I know a few people who used to be flight attendants, and unfortunately, they regret it. Their hearing is now destroyed.. High altitude, amongst many other things associated with flying for such long periods, days in a row, really screws with your ear drums and is a major cause of retracted ear drums.. Not worth it. I guess the body is not made to be at high altitudes for repetitive periods of time. What a shame.

so basically you'd end up with about the same as a 50k salary, with a $2k monthly rent bill. except you're always away from home. and you have to be in line constantly, at a level somewhere between Disneyland park employee and the military. I don't see why a doctor would bother applying about this job, unless they were trying to get away from their husbands LOL

Anybody paying ten times the basic fare deserves special service, however, it is not the same as it used to be in the 60's, when, First Class Passengers were somebody to envy. Some passengers even picked by the Airlines from their office, hotel or residence and pampered all the way to arrival at the destination. I worked for Xerox where I was entitled to First Class. Sadly, I never enjoyed the plush service of Champagne and Caviar due to the workload. Xerox treated you like a VIP but made to work you to death. It was either way up or out.

I've an avid flyer and been to places around Asia, Europe, South America, Australia and the difference in quality of Airlines is significant. My top picks for airline attendants are the big Asian airlines such as Singapore Airlines, Asiana, Cathay Pacific, and of course airlines from UAE (Etihad and Emirates). These flight attendants are simply elegant looking, and as guy rating this, they're high quality and desirable women, slim, young, educated, some even speaking 3-5 language. I live in the USA, so when i fly domestic like Delta or AA, I see 60+ year old attendants, wide bodied still working after 20+ years... and it's the unions who backs them up. Sad

1:08 crew are not obligated to stow passenger's bag in overhead compartment. Thats not what the height requirement is for. It more on to secure cabin & to retrieve some emergency products in the overhead compartment.

Everyone has their own beauty and Emirates does not only hire models, they do not discriminate on how you look or how tall you are (well at least tall enough to reach the overhead luggage bins as that is part of your job to secure them) or your body shape. So anyone with any back ground could apply. The more language you speak the better also. 🙂

32 thousand a year? I have at least three months off, every year, and make around 64 thousand. I have also paid for my place in cash. The only costs I have basically, is the electricity bill, that I share with my mum that lives in the other end of the facilities, and insurance for my car, that I also paid in cash. I am happy I don't have to go trough all that bullshit to get a decent pay!

I must say though, I fly with them frequently in their premium classes (1st & Business) and I think only once did they mention something about my hobbies. I should add, they are on doc the best FAs.

siviwe zwane actually they do have attendants from all races on all of their flights, I traveled a lot with emirates and I have seen a lot of black attendants, they were all stunning (men and woman both) I think they do have a bias for beautiful looking people though.
