This makes me want to get training for my rifle and take a class like this because i just did an AR build for my birthday using a uintah precision upper making a bolt action ar15 because I wanted an ar15 that could survive an assault weapons ban sadly though I still have not finished my build yet because some parts I want just are just not in stock or where discontinued because of the pandemic but still I love what you do and want you to keep doing what you do

@@yvonvoyer5812 the assault weapon ban is because it LOOKS like an AR 15. And no, even bolt action rifles will be banned. See Australia gun laws. The only way they can own one is a lock the bolt , action and ammo separate in separate locations in their house. Sorry but your AR will still be targeted as a SNIPER rifle...... and we just caint have that in a eutopia political civilization.

After Buffalo, now is a perfect time to stress to more civilians on why they should exercise their right to carry.
@georgealicea2978
@georgealicea2978 2 года назад
Absolutely. Your life is your life. You can not depend on the police to be at every event at the time it is happening, so if you carry , you can defend yourself against the evil people in this world. Unfortunately here in nyc the people here are sheep for the slaughter & the political assholes love to hear people getting killed by bad guys. That way they can always say " we need to ban all guns" what a bunch of shit bags they are. Dummies it's the bad guys with ILLEGAL guns that cause all the problems, not the law abiding person, whom has to trust in the great hope that the police will get there fast, before the bad guy kills you.

“When I pick it up it feels like an extension of me.” That is the best feeling in the world. I have a Howa 1500 build that I went to a class with and about halfway through the class it all just seemed to click. Now that is my favorite gun. It feels like it is just a “if I can see it, I can hit it” kind of thing. It is an amazing feeling.
@rdsii64

I bought a Howa 1500 Varmint supreme in 308 years ago. When I finally shot out the barrel, I used the action as a donor for my first custom rifle build. It was my favorite bolt gun then, and even more so now. Now it consists of a Howa 1500 short action, a GRS bifrost stock, a McGowen 24 inch 11 twist heavy Palma barrel (.875 at the muzzle), an area 419 hellfire match brake, and AICS compatible bottom metal.

I don't have a "long range" gun yet. My Ruger AR-15 would probably be the longest shooter and I feel that way about it every time I pick it up. The weight, feel, fit...it just melds to my body and I love it. I will set my sights on a good, long shooting gun but I have a feeling that I am not meant to be the sniper type. Watching these video's is starting an itch, though!

Really appreciate the video and.... welcome to precision rifle. I've been doing it for almost 50 years and I have seen your instructor shooting a match testing the EC tuner. I have shot 2-3" groups at over 900 yards in different winds multiple times just this year alone. I have several rifles capable of this but my favorite is a custom built 7 mm rem mag. I waited years to have built exactly how I wanted so I know what you mean when you say you have a relationship with your rifle. Good job on the video.

Excellent video as always. You have trained for a negative contact at close range for a while and it is eye opening to discover that if "I" engage the target further out - then my personal threat diminishes the further I can confidently engage that threat. No skill or training is un important! The further we keep the enemy at bay the safer we are! But we must posses the skills to achieve the desired outcome.

Plus, it's a handy skillset when you encounter the people that should NOT own guns! Another great video and I loved "You leave training fucking hating the gun or loving it. No middle ground". We got my new custom rifle that he built, dialed in and then learned the Kestral which is a device that give you lots of info however, Derek showed me how to integrate that information with the conditions that are actually present. Derek is a fantastic instructor and one hell of a shooter and knows how to break the info down to plain speech.

Pure Magic! We got the A2s before our last rotation overseas. In the Philippines we had a live fire range on one of the islands. We were making 800 yard head and centermass shots with ease! heavy, longer barrel and the m885 round - it was pure pleasure. Plus, all the sight adjustments were in one spot! No messing with the front sight, then the rear. Just do all your sighting in, in one place! The Corps should've kept that one and made the recruits able to handle it instead of downsizing their rifles to fit snowflakes. Hell! Bring back the M1!

Colion….. Thank you for this video. As a owner of a bolt action rifle, I agree with you points on the need to go out and fall in love with your firearm. For me the challenge is finding a good outdoor range where I can get some real one one one time with my rifle. For me that is where I need to start developing the skill set I need to say that I am one with the rifle. I have fired it only 2 times, both in an indoor range. Finding a good outdoor range for many shooters , I feel is the bigger challenge.

@bryanduchane2371 2 года назад
@@flyingpig7203 It's a fantastic rifle and I've yet to meet anyone who didn't love it and say it one of the best values in the factory produced precision rifles. I may have used the wrong word when I said weak. They are accurate barrels and shoot sub moa with factory match ammo. If your rifle shoots a minute or better you can compete at the highest level of PRS if you do your part. The reason I pointed out the barrel is it's light. Light barrels get hot if you string a number of shots together in a short time period. When a barrel gets hot, they tend to lose accuracy or consistency. Custom PRS rifles tend to have barrels that weigh considerably more and have contours more symmetrical the entire length of it. Pencil barrels are considerably thicker near the action and get much thinner progressively to the muzzle device. Hope that helpped explain my comment. Should have chosen my words a bit better. I can assure you, you will not find a better value than this Daniel Defense PRS Rifle. It easily shoots sub moa with factory match ammo. That alone says a ton about this rifle alone. Not too mention the chassis system is nicely done. Hope this clears things up....

Kevin Owen's (FieldCraft Survival) long range ballistics class emphasizes the Kestrel with Applied Ballistics bullet library. Kestrel with range finder accuracy with those properly used is a game changer. BTW, I'd put my Christensen Arms carbon barrel in either 6.5CM and 300PRC up against anything Daniel Defense offers. Finally got my Delta 5 pro in 6.5 creedmore 3 weeks ago, after waiting for parts and such took it out for break in today. Only planned on sending 20, but ended up doing 40. Night and day from my rem 700 308. Group of marine infantry next to me gave it a try (felt bad because only muzzle break while waiting on a tax stamp) and they loved it. Will be looking into the class since only an hour away in Houston.

Literally just went to the range today and sighted in my new bolt gun. Ended up ringing steel consistently at 800 yards for the first time and its so satisfying. Just wish there was a longer range nearby

I recently took a Precision Rifle course at Front Sight FIrearms Institute, and it WAS AWESOME !! Truly addictive. I was able to hit a 9 inch circle at 750 yards pretty reliably ! Great video thanks !! The Kestrel is the business !! Paralax is also really difficult for me to correct !! FUN TIMES

great stuff man, shooting a perfect stage like that is no joke. I love your excitement with that bolt gun, also great to see another shooter fall in love with the game of accuracy, it is not as easy as it looks.

Excellent job. Big DD FAN..don’t baby the bolt..I was told once by a great marksmanship instructor “you’re only as good as your last shot”marksmanship school overseas your zero impact is from the prone with a much bigger round 300 Norma 338 lapua..no kestrel Was hoping to see how they teach breathing, recoil energy, scope peripheral tube vision, loading the bipods, natural point of aim etc..be glad to help.

Dirt road VS the Highway . Two different rides Sir.. What's really cool??? Now you know both and there is a cross road ahead in your future and you Sir will adapt to almost any condition ahead .. Word from the wise . Take you're time and smell the flowers along the way and you'll know where you're at in the dark ..

I have a single shot 22 lr with a 3x9x40 scope and a love to paint a 4'x8' sheet of plywood with white paint and at 100 yards kill house flies that will come to the white color. I like hitting a 1/4 " socket at the same distance shot after shot. Enjoy the feeling my friend I know I do.

Now that you've got your feet wet in precision shooting, you will translate that skill set to every other type of shooting you do. And that includes shotgun. There's a school in Squim Washington you absolutely MUST attend. Chuck Dryke taught his son, Matt, to shoot. Mat went on to Olympic Gold in both Skeet and Trap. Chuck's gone now, but Mat still runs and teaches at the Sunnydale Shooting facility in Squim. Go do it! You'll love it!!!

I am PISSED i just watched a 14 minute commercial for Daniel Defense with obvious bias designed to entice the audience to purchase one of these rifles. "THANKS" @Colion Noir. I now have two on order. (Disclaimer: I do not have two on order but still enjoyed this video. Even if it was a commercial.)

I had the Delta 5 in .308 and it indeed was a shooter! I traded it for a chassis gun and a microtech knife.

I never blame the gun. If I got to a course, a couple things happen. I realize I know less than I thought, and I learn from that. I appreciate what I got and focus on getting better at making it work. I learn what I have isn't working, and figure out how to fix it (new optic? different bipod? what needs to be changed or adjusted? Am I assembling something wrong? Am I overlooking details that are important that I didn't know about?). I come away confident in my ability, learning that I am better than I think and I need to stop being so hard on myself and just do it more knowing I have what it takes if I just keep working at it. I was raised to make do, make it work, figure it out. I never blame the tool. If the tool is underperforming, then I recognize that if I had a better tool, I could do better. If I can afford a new or better tool, great. If not, then I just have to figure out how to maximize what I do have and make the most of it. Growing up we never had the money to just fix things, or buy better.

love the self defence classes, been ther, done that , for a first time is a great feeling, but im old school, 308, or 300 win mag, and now the 7mm rem mag, the military used the 308, and the sniper used the 300 win. mag, now its time for the 7mm. the gun in between, i didnt get into the creedmore 6.5, but colion practice , practice, practice. like ed otis down on the replies, come nov.
