What would it be like to be the executioner of death row inmates? Well in today's video we try to answer that question while investigating the job and duties of an executioner. There are 28 states that have the death penalty and that means there are executioners all across America. What's it like to be the one to put the prisoners to death? Find out in today's video.

To those who don’t understand what this means, it means that you die three times, technically you only really die once, but its the memory and respect for you that die later, body stops functioning= actual death Consignation to the grave= people start to forget you When someone speaks your name for the last time= when you are no longer remembered by anyone or anything and you have become obsolete.

My grandfather had a very small role in all executions in Richmond Va when they had them there, a few hours before every execution he would go and check if the the phone lines were working properly in case the Governor would call and stop the execution

I’m sure that the trauma of that job turns a person into a boated wreck who drinks heavily. It probably takes a toll on their other relationships too. Tbh, if they appear to be flourishing, that’s even more frightening.

Once you get used to living in prison. It's no longer a punishment. It becomes 'ooo. New guy. Let's mess with him' as well as 'yes..I love.spaghetti night'. Its a sad but very common truth among those people on life or extended sentences. All at our expense

Without seeing it myself, it's hard to feel sympathy for someone who tortured another person, and I think we should reserve the death penalty to only these people. That's my opinion on the matter anyway.

If death penalty is legal then innocent people will be executed, it's impossible for wrongful convictions to be entirely avoided. It's more expensive, more barbaric, and often times straight up murderous. Shouldn't be legal imo

Accuracy is a problem. Not everyone is A dead shot, waste time and it costs too much to waste entire clips trying to shoot convict number one in the heart or in the head.

@@keraatkins7833 1) it's called a magazine, not a clip. A clip is the what you put in your hair. 2) bullets are not that expensive 3) you have around 5 shooters all aiming at a bullseye that is put on the inmate and each are given one bullet

The electric chair was quicker and more humane. Getting rid of it to appease people with queasy stomachs for the more painful lethal injection was a huge mistake. The public are often wrong.

I don't know. If the inmate suffers a torturous death, it probably pales in comparison with the suffering that they caused their victims.

He talks of people changing over time when in prison. For some crimes, that's true. Even some involving loss of life - eg manslaughter, crimes of passion etc. But child rapists/killers? Terrorists? Serial killers? They deserve everything they get.

I wonder which is the greater penalty, between a quick execution or "life means LIFE!" of the rest of your days incarcerated with no hope of release. Also, it's apparently more expensive to execute, with the considerable time spent on death row and the long train of appeals,

the hugging ghost depends what crime you committed I believe in an eye for an eye style punishment. If say you were a murderer but showed mercy to the victim like the didn’t suffer then you should have a quick execution, however if you caused your victim to suffer a slow and painful death then why should you have a quick death
