What It's Like To Go Blind 

A girl I used to know since we were in kindergarden found out as a teenager she had Macular Degeneration. One day she just woke up with a blank spot in her field of vision and.... and the doctor told her she was slowly going to become completely blind and there was nothing they could do about it.... I can only imagine how hard it must've been to hear those words.

After this video I feel really grateful that I don't have a disease.

One of my best friends has a degenerative eye disease. He's a freshman, and he's predicted be legally blind by the time he graduates. This made me really depressed because I don't want him to ever have to go through something like this... He doesn't deserve it.

I think I would cry every night if I went blind.

The worst thing that can happen to you in life is losing your vision throughout your life. If you're born blind, then you never knew how it was to be able to see. But if you gradually become blind, then you already experienced to good part, and your life slowly becomes completely different. And you have to sacrifice so many activities to adapt to your new lifestyle!! To me, sight is probably one of the most important senses, I would hate to have Macular Degeneration :(

This terrifies me. Of all the senses one can lose, this would be the worst.

Im blind and i am always in depression. When you cant see anything, you got nothing to talk about and here you are alone with no one wanting to talk to you. Sometimes i wonder why am i alive

my mom said I will be legally blind by age 22 because I'm 14 now and a -9 and last year I was -7 doctors said with my changing eyesight laser surgery isn't a option really. I don't want to go blind how will I go to college, own a restaurant, and have kids like I wanted to? I'm fine with wearing glasses for the rest of my life but I never want to be blind.. 😢😢 no one deserves to lose their ability to move, hear, and see losing one is bad enough let's find a way to help the people who suffer from these loses.

I'm 21 and I was diagnosed with Keratoconus two years ago. I use to be able to wear glasses but now glasses at the highest prescription do nothing. My vision has gotten pretty bad especially in my left eye. The vision in my left eye is exactly like his is at 1:07 But now the vision in right eye is starting to deteriorate. I can barely see myself in the mirror when I don't have my contact lenses in. I only have two options either to keep wearing hard contacts (this doesn't fix the issue this only makes it so I can see) or a corneal transplant which I can't afford. For now I use the hard rgp contacts but they make my eyes red and irritated. I'm scared that my keratoconus will continue to progress and I will be blind one day 😔

Going blind now isn't as bad as going blind back in the 19th century, didn't have as much technology as we do now. Because of my iPad, I can be a blind video creator on this website. That says a lot! You are awesome. Thank you for sharing the details and struggles you have to go through. And for people wondering how a blind person writes a comment, I am actually talking with my voice, and my iPad is turning it into words AKA print for you to read.

Sight, mind, arms and legs. could you imagine the terrors of life without them?

I work with many people with visual impairments. Some completely blind and some varying within spectrums of sight. I’m awestruck every work day! I need reading glasses to do my job. Without those, I’d be lost. I imagine how it must be for my coworkers living in complete darkness. I can’t. They are great people who do better than I ever could!

I'm going blind also. It's scary but staying strong and positive helps. I have a retina disease that cannot be cured. Surrounding myself with positive good people is my key to being happy. I don't let it hold me back even though I can barely check my mail outside by myself but I still live a productive life as much as I can

I'm going blind too, I'm not as bad has him, but I and the doctors think that by the time I'm 25 I'll be as bad or even worse them him. It scares me because I love see the trees and grass and flowers, seeing my family/friends smiles. I don't ever wanna not see their smiles, so I do every thing in my power to make them smile.

I'm going deaf slowly and I'm only 15. Music is everything for me and to know I won't be able to hear anything one day, makes me incredible s ad. Honestly I'm scared, I'm so freaking scared. I can't hear anything at all on my right ear and my left ear is still okay (actually also bad but better than the other one). The doctor said In half a year I will be completely deaf. I'm listening as much music as possible right now, but I will forget all my favourite songs one day. This video calmed me down and inspired me so much. Thank you!

You guys should do how it feels to have arthritis. It's a chronic illness that is so misunderstood by the public. And it would really help bring awareness to it. Personally, I'm a 16 year old with an EXTREMELY rare sub type of juvenile psoriatic arthritis. And it is so freaking hard. And no body can even grasp what your going through.

Having perfect and even good eyesight really is amazing, and no one should take it for granted. I wish my eyesight was better.

Now I'm really ashamed of myself for being depressed about not being able to afford a car. We are often so ungrateful for what we have.
