Beacon Hill the most historic neighborhood in the whole city
Beacon Hill is classic Boston… cobblestone streets, gas lights, and federal style row houses
This neighborhood has historically been a very wealthy part of the city and that certainly hasn't changed
Before we get into real estate prices lets first dive into location
Beacon Hill is extremely centrally located bordering a few other neighborhoods including the west end, government center and downtown Boston, and of course back bay
It sits directly north of Boston common making it prime real estate
Now that you know where its located lets talk transportation
There are two T lines nearby including the red line that goes up to Cambridge and south to dorchester and south Boston
There is also the blue line that can get you through downtown and towards the airport in East Boston
You can of course drive into beacon hill, but I will warn you its extremely hard to find parking and the twisty random 1 way streets are complicated so make sure to have your gps out. If you cant find parking you can always park at the Boston common garage or really any other parking garage
So whats there to do in this neighborhood? Well theres some options
You can go shopping down on Charles street the neighborhoods main artery, you can also go walk around and enjoy all the picturesque homes and streets
The most photographed street in the US is located here so you know there are plenty of instagramable locations
If you are into history you can always do the freedom trail which runs through a lot of beacon hill
Lets talk food
As I mentioned Charles street has some shopping but it also has some restaurants, Toscano is pretty good, if you want something interesting you can also check out Kured which just opened they do just charcuterie boards
If your feeling a fancy really nice dinner 75 chestnut is one of my favorites
Now lets dive into real estate
I told you its expensive and thats definitely true, but you get all that boston historical charm mixed with luxury living
A single family is going to be the most expensive with the average currently listed at 5.9 million
Condos are easier to come by and cheaper priced at around 2.3 million
I know thats expensive, but you are buying a part of history and something that will most likely never lose much value if not continue to gain
Rents as you can imagine are also on the more expensive side
1 bed: 2457
2 bed: 3181
3 bed: 6000
4 bed: 16,000
Due to the pricing beacon hill tends to have a population of older folks who are either retired or working in high paying industries
There are some families here and a few young professionals, but mainly older wealthier people
So thats beacon hill, let me know what neighborhood you want to see next in the comments and as always if you need any real estate help in Boston shoot me an email, I'll leave it down in the description.

Please contact a knowledgeable Boston source, even see if you can visit it with a good case manager. Boston is very difficult, very cold, and above all, very expensive. I have lived all over the U S and had good pay in Boston..,would never, ever live there again. If you do not know anyone...do think seriously about this..

@@leebedard1962 pros and cons of Boston? Why wouldn't u live there again

@@arcnyte5232 Extremely difficult to make even casual social connections unless you are college age or just beyond. I am a native New Englander who has lived in many U S locations..Boston was very difficult socially. When this Atlanta resident, who wil lbe disadvantaged in the very pricey Boston market, asked, I was alarmed that she might go unprepared. To a typical Southerner, 30 degrees F is extreme cold..in addition to culture shock. Boston is beautiful. But welcoming, it is not...

@@leebedard1962 that's definitely facts. It's hard to make friends in boston. I think the coldness itself makes me not want to live there

@@arcnyte5232 It is one of our most beautiful cities, and for upwardly mobile young careerists, college students, or well connected locals, it is probably a paradise. But the woman inquiring was a Section 8 qualified resident of Atlanta. I fear she will wind up in some ethnic exurb in a poorly maintained building where she will be lonely, cold, and, if she happens to be a minority, , unable to work or connect. I have seen this happen. Perhaps Old Boston has died. Sure hope so...
