Yo Tamer, I edited my resume based on your tips and I went from rejections to having a hard time choosing from my offers for an internship lol. I'm also making a portfolio of my projects and applying for a tesla internship next year. I'm also on the path of Design Engineering so you'll be seeing me here often😂 Anyway, just wanted to tell you I appreciate your videos- keep up!

What if all those robot eventually leave all those with a high school diploma with out a job and those people start stealing or collecting this robots to take them apart either to sell by parts in the black market or send them to other counries. Just the battery and sensor alone would be worth quite a bit of money.... I mean if you live in the bay area this is already a reality with so many homeless people and ofcourse this not your problem until someone puts a gun to your head to steal your stuff...

Lov your videos man! I am currently in college (Mechanical Engineering in Brazil) and recently I decided to join a Aerodesign team, it was the best decision I had, right now I am working with 3dprinting and a Laser cutting machine, creating molds and involved in diferent kinds of manufacturing process. Honestly I truly want to work in the US as a Mechanical Design Engineer one day, but the education here lacks a lot, so I hope to eventually get a good intership while preparing myself. Thanks for your content it helped me to keep from giving up college a few months ago, and now I am completly motivated!

Engineering is the best program to study in college and beyond. Why? Your engineering thinking comes into play everyday of your daily life. It’s not more than the curriculum, it’s a way of thinking. I think it really depends on the start-up. Very small start-ups (under 10 ppl) will make it hard for u to learn anything since u’ll be expected to do a lot of work that u don’t have experience for yet. But, for larger startups (50+ ppl), you’ll be given challenging enough work that u can learn enough from.

I have watched several of your videos. I love your style and the way you handle your career. I have had a very successful career (in my mid-40s now). I hold a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. I started at a semiconductor materials company for 10 years, but then made my way into Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals. One of the keys for career development is continuing to build your "personal brand". Make yourself irreplaceable by becoming THE expert at a few specific thing related to your work. Also, build leadership skills so that you can move upward during your career (whether in a technical role or non-technical role). Just an FYI, I quit alcohol, television, and other "distractions" in the last 4-6 years, which has really accelerated my growth and income. Specifically, I have doubled my income within a 3-year period (2020-2023) by putting myself out there and really going after what I am really worth. I never looked back. Bottom line: never be afraid to put yourself out there and get what you're worth. You seem like a very smart, likeable person. I am sure you interview well also. I wish you lots of success. Cheers to all the engineers raking cash while the others are raking trash!!

Secondly, do most of the internships you get in university involve startups for the most part rather than big tech companies?

I have no plan right now to start my own start-up, but I’d def love to start one someday. Trying to learn a lot from my current start-up and take that experience to starting my own one day. Question? If the sole aim of the work in a company is to design, produce and assemble. And you do the design. What else can you do at work on a finished product everyday? I am guessing making adjustments to improve design on the product in preparation for the launch of a better improved product. But in that case how long do you spend to design that product as you work everyday on that new design project which prolly won’t be released in 1, 2 or 3 years at best depending on the company. Take for example the apple iPhone design team, the iPhone 13 released last year and I am sure they are currently designing the iPhone 14 or maybe finished and it’s currently in production so what will the design engineers be doing everyday at work as the product is being produced? Basically my question is how long do you spend on a project to design and analyze if you are working everyday Monday to Friday and what else do you do when all the design work is done and moved to production?
@AsifAhmed03
@AsifAhmed03 2 года назад
As a design engineer, you will get a small task from a giant task list. Let's take your example Apple 14 phone. More than 2,000+ design engineers work at apple just to design a few products. It's an endless design task list. So design work is not going to finish.

What can you say about mechanical engineering? And what is the main subjects that I must be talent on to deal with it? Do you think that high schools' lessons are important for university according to your experience?
@the1reef.243
@the1reef.243 2 года назад
Everything you learn in high school is completely essential for Engineering. At least the subjects you need to apply for Engineering. The knowledge from those classes should be stuff you know off the top of your head. Especially math. If you have a good base, you shouldn’t struggle consistently with Uni material.
@JB-dv7ew
@JB-dv7ew 2 года назад
If you take calculus and physics etc. in high school this will help you greatly when you get to college and you'll be very prepared. The mechanical engineering curriculum in college is very broad and will cover a lot of subjects. The best way to tackle the classes is find a nice friend group who is serious about acing and learning the material but make sure they're people you fit in with too so you can have fun with them as well. Just remember to have fun and don't be 100% focused on school like not wanting to do important life events just cause you think you have to study more, I know that'll be hard cause school is very important and most can't afford to fail and eventually need to be able to get a job. I've been a mechanical engineer for 2 years outside school. I finished with a 3.5 GPA and 2 internships. I didn't learn algebra and trig till after high school (I didn't focus in high school). My advice today would be to look into electrical/software and see if you like it as the industry is heading more towards that way. They make more money, which you may not think is important right now but will become very important later and will be driving most of your motivation to become a good engineer.
