My wife and I visited Mexico City once July 2022. We are from a hot climate so The cool weather was great! Our food experience was good but had we stayed longer maybe would have been better. The cultural activities abound. We visited Xochimilco and it was packed with tourists & we met fun people and had a blast! We stayed in a nice hotel in the Zócalo which included a free walking tour & there happened to be a massive concert that evening. We definitely will return to visit! 👍

Hey Dani, thanks for you video, keep up with them. I have to say that people here in Mexico are very welcome to Europeans and North Americans, but as a south American immigrant here I suffered a lot of racism and indifference. Mexicans are hard work people who fight a lot to survive and have a good life, but in my experience they are kind of passive and to pride to discuss social problems, they tend to avoid the talk, but of course this is not a rule, just my point of view experiencing living here for 4 years. Mexico city it's beautiful and have a lot of things to do and see, but the cons is the cost of rent (not so expensive to people that make money in dollars haha) and the very dry and polluted air.

@Qghsts
@Qghsts Месяц назад
Sadly we Mexicans are but we are so ashamed to admit it so you will only see Mexicans talk about "classism" instead. The thing is that it's only towards the indigenous native people (a.k.a. the ones who actually were there since the beginning while we modern "Mexicans" are just a mix of Spaniard and native indigenous (aztecs and mayans for example). But outside that, we aren't, specially with tourists, we are amazed to see people from other cultures, and about African Americans i think just being in Mexico they will make instant friends just by walking around, we like hip hop culture so much that is already impregnated into the Mexico culture, and in general happy reactions over African Americans, Asian, Europeans, etc... Sadly the indigenous thing goes all the way thru Latin America countries, but compared with a lot of them, they usually are less friendly and open minded about other "races". Greetings and México is waiting for you with open hands! 🇲🇽
@Qghsts
@Qghsts Месяц назад
And just to specify, no, we don't care about light skin and dark skin, we don't see colors but humans (but sadly still seeing with other eyes the indigenous minorities, but it's more about the Indigenous traits and never about the color)

It depends on where you go. I live in France and a colleague from Morocco told me that she would like to go to Mexico because the coke is cheaper! I don't even know what the price is or where I could get that. I have worked as a teacher in a school and this is the first time I feel that my life is in danger, here there are many young people who do not control their stress and have killed several teachers. There is violence all over the world but the yellow news has more impact on certain things. Many French people have told me "be careful in this area because they kill there, they steal there, there is trafficking of weapons, drugs and other things" ... I thought it was a safe country
@thechanchanman9994
@thechanchanman9994 Год назад
As a mexican, it really depends entirely on where you go. The calmer the place yo go to is, the safer it is. The one state I always recommend for people worried about the safety, is Yucatan (excluding very touristy areas). Any city there is absolutly beautiful, and it is one of the places where I have felt the safest, although if you want to practice your spanish you should go to literally any other place cause they have a very thick accent.
@moondxst
@moondxst Год назад
Born and raised all my life here in MX City. It 100% depends on the area. Some are safer than others and we live our lives normally, but just as in any other country, we grow being taught of always being aware at night hours, especially for us women, we don't expect to walk alone at night on an empty street and be safe.
@patrick22014
@patrick22014 Год назад
I'm a Mexican born and raised here and I can say that as long as you visit the large cities and stick to the main streets you won't have to be worried about the crime. Sure, you can get robbed if you walk at night in some areas but I think that happens pretty much everywhere in the world, now if you go to certain states (mostly the ones close the border with the US) the crime (cartels and drugs) increases dramatically but at the same time the small robbery is reduced because they control what happens in those places. So if you wanna skip that, I'd suggest you to go to large cities and stick to tourist places (central and south Mexico).

Stayed a month in CDMX last August 2022 and it never occurred to me or even noticed the pollution that most of them mentioned…. I loved everything about MC,the People,food,culture easy to get around(Cheap transpo) and most importantly the feeling of right at home.

it’s mostly a stereotype from the 80s and 90s, not that the city is not polluted but it’s actually less polluted than cities like LA or London, and much less than the big cities in India and China obviously… also you only notice it when it’s a very hot day and you are walking for hours. Mi guess is that most of these people are actually suffering because of the altitude, that is very noticeable if you are not used to it

mexico city is just as loud as nyc, also the most expensive big city in mexico. nearby puebla and queretaro are also pretty populated but much quieter and easy to get used to as they have your typical everyday american/european companies.

As a Mexican, I totally agree with the airport comment, I honestly dread having to go to the AICM airport, it’s super dated and in a state of disrepair. Hopefully one day they will finish what they started with the new airport they were supposed to have built nearby. Keep the new videos coming Dan, cheers!!

There's the new AIFA airport north of the city , but we know how that's been developing with all the bad press and the project got polirized and politized. Hopefully it gets certified so international airlines could land there and Mexican airlines give it a chance and stop their tantrums. It looks like its gonna be great airport but in like 5 years when the communication expressways and train are finished.

Awesome video! Thank you! People, if you like Mexico City, then you will love Moscow, Russia! Forget about the crap you hear from the TV and experience the real magic of the metropolitan city! It will pleasantly surprise you! The food, the amount of things to do there, the culture and the people (yes, Russians are quite a good people, even though west wants to portrait them differently) everything will amaze you! Go beyond your comfort zone and propaganda on a TV! You will not be disappointed!

Bruh, I've seen wild fires starting even when it rains... it's insane. From 2020 to 2023 it's become very alarming, you can even see it from your window.
@gabrielacrit876
@gabrielacrit876 Год назад
It's not that alarming. Of course there's a lot to be done in this regard, but the pollution situation is actually comparable to what other big cities in the world suffer -and let's remember, actually, this is not only a 'big city', this is a MEGACITY with 22 million people moving around each day! I find that this aspect is so mentioned in the video because the city is extremely beautiful, exciting and interesting... so there are actually few things that one could hate about it (I'm not from CDMX, but I've lived here for 7 years, and I just love it 😍).
