You can try to make small purchases in some purchasing software in your country first, and if sales are good, you can buy multiple times. If you want to get greater profits, you still need to purchase in the factory.

Hello sir. I am from Zimbabwe Victoria falls and i have been looking to start a spare parts business. Where is best to get your stock?? Are you using china/ somewhere else. What do you think of UK cars.
+Zimbabwe,Zambezi & Africa Safaris Zzase Dear Sir. What I am about to tell you comes from 50 years of being in the retail auto parts business in the United States. I am sure some of the information will be of assistance. With limited space I can only give you names and techniques for you to research. Many of the US manufacturers (Monroe/Fram/Wix/Dayco) have websites which allow you to contact them. Many of them have international offices. Once they respond to you they can direct you to a warehouse that is near you. Most warehouses stock parts from many other manufacturers and the representative can provide you with a list of what they buy. It is called a "line card". I was watching this video and see that some of the companies this person buys from is NGK, Nitoyo and Abro. I went to Abro's website and found that they have many products that can be sold in an auto parts store and they export from the United State to many parts of the world. Many manufacturers give you the ability to find out what vehicles a particular part fits.. that function is called a "buyers guide". You can practice looking up parts by using one of my favorite websites, "rockauto.com" or WWW.ShowMeTheParts.com You will need to make sure that the parts catalogs that are made available to you are for your region. You can ask your representative. Example.. some Nissan cars in Mexico are actually made by Renault.. so none of the parts of an american Nissan will fit. Get to know which cars/trucks are popular in your area. You can stock the items which are most consumed.. light bulbs, wiper blades, oils/chemicals/antifreeze, belts, hoses, hose clamps, spark plugs, distributor caps, rotors, points, ignition wires. (here in the US, distributor caps and associated parts are slow movers because most cars now have computerized ignition systems), thermostats and their gaskets, brake pads and shoes. You should keep only the most popular water pumps, alternators, clutches, starters, suspension parts, engine gaskets. A large stock in these items will be very expensive.. so only keep the most popular.. only the "gravy". In my area there are only a few wheel bearings that are popular. You can try a small stock of wheel, transmission and engine seals (camshaft, crankshaft and timing cover transmission input and output seals). There are a few popular transmission filters and gaskets. When a salesman comes to call, have him give you a list of the parts he intends to sell you and do your research. The representatives are of the bad habit of selling you things you don't need. Example..the filter people will try to sell you a very large assortment of part numbers when your area is limited to mostly Nissan and Toyota vehicles. If you find a warehouse that is nearby, you can avoid stocking the expensive items. In my area we have available 2 deliveries per day from a warehouse which is 80km away and overnight delivery from a warehouse which is 300km away. If you have internet available, most parts will be looked up using software your warehouse provides, otherwise your warehouse will supply you with books/catalogs where you can look up the parts. Of particular interest in the books is that most will have an "illustrated guide" or "illustrated parts" sections which has photos and information as to what the part will fit. If you need more information please contact me. Best wishes and good luck with your new store.

+Bhong Zaragoza Try looking into spark plugs (NGK, Bosch), Oxygen sensors, Shock absorbers, bushes, steering rack, engine components and the list goes on. try looking what demand on which car your country/City has. Say if you have less parts of a certain Make, but people wish to bring in or they aren't many competitors, then maybe you can start with that. Hope this slightly helps.

Consider first where you are living and the type vehicles around you. After then you go for maintenance parts like air, oil and fuel filters, Suspension parts like shocks, links, ball joint, tie rod ends etc, braking systems are also movable like pads, and brake shoes etc.
