hahaha i never tought about it , it s probably a big accomplishment to catch an other group , and that guy just went for one to the other , it s easy to understand that he is completely on an other level than the other guys
The Matt Zimmer perspective at 4:15 on this link, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h6618Bgu9CE.html fully incriminates Justin for a total dick move
Great win family !!!! Thanks for the first hand view of the race 🏁. Have me in my chair 💺 peddling for you as well. Again congratulations 🎊 👏 on you big win 🏆.
Must've felt pretty confident to put a go pro on your helmet! All that aero and putting a brick on your head! Thanks for the perspective and congrats on the win.
Watching you take those outside lines against the curb is so intense; high speed cornering and coming out of the turn with tiny margins and high watts. In the end, the opportunity for victory was just as slim so apparently that's what it takes. You have a very intimidating riding style.
6:39 wtf was #742 doing here? Not cool, bruh. But it was very nice of him to let you stream off of him to the finish so you could catch for the win. Nice.
Sweet ride sir, I've raced 1975-82 mx & flat track. Your endurance sets you apart from other racers racing and winning in all sports & life is mostly mental. Keep digging 🚲👍
The max power was not as crazy as that last pull at the end - look at the guy he passed and you know the guy he passed was fighting for every watt at that moment. Justin passed him like he was almost stopped, the other dude had tried to pull too early and cracked and Justin flew past him on the last straight. Nice hold over 1000+ for 10-15 seconds (at the end of a fast crit) that is the amazing part.
@@patrickmurray8886 Yeah I don't know people don't do both they benefit each other so much. And I don't see why people argue which is better it's such a subjective argument
Those overtakes on the outside as everyone slides out to the curb on the exit of those corners are insane. I've raced cars a little and that sort of move is madness. They can't see the guy coming up behind them, he's in a total blind spot just rolling the dice on whether they'll use the whole width of the road to take their turn, which they might. Totally crazy lol. Would not recommend.
Hmmm, I think Justin does cause the crash at 1:17. Yeah domesticate is looking back just before but he is at pace with the other riders around. He is focused forward when you are passing on the outside, a little shout as you started the pass would have avoided that. Its fine to take risks for yourself but to risk others is not cool.
Every single time I watch this my HR redlines as you’re zipping up that final gap. Man I love watching you guys race. Looking forward to seeing you threepeat!
I've only recently started watching these videos. You are clearly a dominant crit monster. So fun watching. This was my favorite style of racing long ago and these bring back many fond memories. What I appreciate most about your success and what is clearly evident in this video is that you put your time in at the front in the wind. Dude, you closed some serious gaps during this race and were rewarded for your efforts. That last lap was insane. Watching the one dude come back to you in the closing meters was amazing....and undoubtedly, very disappointing for him. Chapeau!
0:28 "if you're going to dive be able to make the corner" alright, fair enough... next clip does does the exact same thing to 701... If he's not ok with that dude diving and breaking his racing line, why is the next clip any different? It's clear he dove and broke right in front of 701. What was the difference between the two clips that made his move fine but the other guy's move BM?
Dam, fkn amazing, this is why I love cycling I thought it was exhilarating to pass people going 20, thank you Cory Williams for opening my eyes up to what’s possible
I’ve now seen the crash from both Matt Zimmer’s perspective (who was directly behind) and Justin’s, and originally thought it was likely caused by Justin trying to go through a hole that wasn’t there at a point in the race were that wasn’t necessary. Looking through Justin’s eyes however, it seems clear to me that the rider moved in on him and Justin was just rolling his momentum. I don’t think you can put much blame on justin for that.
Looks like Justin was trying to use his momentum to pass First Internet Bank dude. First Internet Bank dude was focused on staying behind Project Echelon dude's wheel and drifted right, forcing Justin right also and into the Mike's Bike's guy? I'm just going to say "racing incident."
Chapeau! Thank you for this persepective. I dont think that people really know how incredible fast such a race is. You must have a great capacity for dealing with stress and making fast decisions. Not to mention all the effort that goes into this on and off the bike, 247365. All the best and greetings from Vienna, Janette
Great race Justin. It's so good u had ur Go Pro on at the time of the crash. That guy was looking back and panicked when u blazed past him, causing himself to cash.
Hey bud I have another question regarding performance enhancing drugs. What’s stopping these people from training using them, then whenever races or drug tests come up they just stop. Surely you have to gain better performance from training with them, even if you aren’t allowed to use them during the race itself correct?
Great Race!!! Been racing since ‘91 n ‘91-‘95 in Chi area n did Downers Grove (not the championship😂). No one bitched n whined back then about crashing...don’t want to crash? Keep da feets outta da cleats....
just wondering, why don't they do bicycle road race in a circuit or at least in a street circuit? I think that would be more interesting to watch. I believe they do that for the MTB bicycle race.
I know you are hella busy, but have you ever though about race breakdowns? You race so well and it's not just your power that gives you the wins. Seeing/hearing how you are reading the race would be useful for us normies.
The Matt Zimmer perspective at 4:15 on this link, ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h6618Bgu9CE.html fully incriminates Justin for a total dick move
@@joellentz I checked out his perspective and played it back a few times at .25x speed and it looks like the guy who fell started to turn into him while Justin was already on his left in full Sprint then when Justin went to swing the bike to the other side his entire body was inside Justin so it's a little tricky to say who's at fault there
@@joellentz bullshit. "fully incriminates Justin for a total dick move" nice wording. its a crit race btw. the people at the front was looking back at justin, and i think they made a signal sound to try to block him. it was the front guy in lightblue shirt, he swung to the middle to try to block justin, the guy in darkblue swung to middle to stay on lightblue guy's wheel. and the guy 826 wasn't on a wheel and he wasn't looking back, he tried to get on a wheel, but justin was already there. it really is the 826 guy's fault for not looking. there was a gap for justin, the 3 of them failed attempt to close it. that's all 1:15 shows them looking back.
Love how you handle the pack criticism about the crash. Yes, the race is in front of you. Looks like one squirrelly field to navigate. You corner like a Formula 1 machine. Way to go
Mike's Bikes guy absolutely was looking back. You have a right to your space regardless. Like, where else were you supposed to go there according to his teammates? Major kudos and congrats on the title. Well deserved Shoutout to my boy Frank there at the end! Had no idea he came that close. PS jesus, so many huge bridges
Are we talking about the crash @1:14 mark? What happens behind you, stays behind you. Justin's right, keep your eyes up the road...Especially in the corners.
Have a look at Matt Zimmers video to see the full move. I'd say the move was not totally necessary but what are you supposed to do when you're already at 30mph and the door is being closed on you? It's a combo of errors and an unfortunate outcome.
After watching this video and Zimmerman's video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-h6618Bgu9CE.htmlm52s it seems pretty clear this was completely Justin's fault. The Mike's Bikes guy looking back had nothing to do with the crash, it's just the excuse Justin uses to try and place the blame on someone else. Furthermore, Zimmerman himself who was actually there and witnessed the crash first hand and is obviously an experienced racer at this level says it was Justin's fault.
Also, saying "you have a right to your space" is absurd. Everyone has a right to their space, right? It seems to me both of those other racers who were in front of Justin had a right to their space too. And Justin forced himself into that space when there was no need to. And yes, the guy looked back, but that had nothing to do with the crash. Check out Zimmerman's video. It makes it much clearer that the look back had nothing to do with the crash. Saying "where else where you supposed to go" is also ridiculous. He should have hit the breaks. He was approaching a closing gap that he couldn't make. He should have slowed down. I get that he didn't want to lose his momentum, but that's the line he chose. Then when he was faced with the choice between slowing down a touch and checking another rider to the ground, he chose the later. That's a pretty shitty selfish way to race.
Do most road races involve this many sharp corners every few seconds? I was thinking about getting into road racing starting at a low level but the craziness off all the sharp corners in this is off putting.
Great race some power in them legs some hair rasing moments wish I was a young fella again love the sport but that's from the sofa. Well done what a race
Damn! I'd love to race for you, your team, and your causes. It's too bad you aren't based in Toronto. Absolutely jaw dropping performance with tons of 4 digit number power numbers D:
That race was chaotic, but it wasn't nearly as chaotic as so many races on this level. Nobody knows how to dive or cut corners. Had a friend who broke his arm cause some idiot decided to press him up against the wall like 742 did. It's really a miracle people don't die in these races.
Nice win! Looks like the mb guy tried to box you in as you were already passing but he was late and not effective causing his own crash...bummer for him hope he's ok. Good tactic but not done properly as he left too much room between himself and the other rider allowing space to be going through he wasn't wide enough and moving left after the fact. He probably could have not crashed had he not looked back to check on you to try and excessively block
Wow, no team and had to cover all of those moves? Impressive Justin. Also, the Mikes bikes guys seemed to be sitting up everywhere. The guy you clipped should have not let up while on the front. If so, move over and out of the way. If I would have done that at CBR and you clipped me while I sat up it would have been a hard lesson for me to learn.
Can someone explain what nationals this is? Last time I checked Alex Howes was the road champ. Not hating, genuinely curious as to what this is. Seems like another socal crit
I'm confused, I thought this was Cory's channel but that skinsuit looked like Justin's. Do you guys both post to this channel? Either way I love the videos and you definitely didn't cause that crash. Not everyone is good at taking responsibility for their actions. The crash happened because of a loss or lack of focus on his part. Keep up the good work!
