I love the way Italians always smile when they speak. Round my way people don't even smile when they smile.

My father and brother both lived in Italy. My father in Rome and my brother in Milan. Both lived there when they were teenagers doing church service. I'm finally learning Italian so that I can speak to them in another language. I have always felt that my soul belonged in Italy. It's a beautiful and historically rich country.

growing up Italian family in America coffee was always part of the daily ritual, unfortunately it hurt my liver and I had to stop coffee 15 years ago. I think it would be hard for me to live in Italy just because of the whole coffee traditions. I switched to drinking black tea and all the symptoms of my ill liver went away. I don't usually eat til close to lunch time anyhow, and usually something savory. Today I had tortellini with butter and parmegiano

I'm Turkish but I don't eat classic Turkish breakfast usually. This applies to me. I eat rice with a thing usually. This thing can be things like şalgam, tomato, cacık... Normally, we eat menemen or omlette or mıhlama (This is a Black Sea dish. I haven't eaten before but it looks delicious.) And we drink tea. (I hate tea.) And we eat jam, honey, kaymak (English trantslate say cream but I know, it's not cream exactly.) with bread. But it's very very long breakfast for me. Preparation, eating... So, I eat rice or yesterday's dinner. It's easier than classic Turkish breakfast.

It’s really amazing that they can eat pastries in the morning and not get fat. If all I had was caffeine and carbs, I would have a blood sugar crash within an hour.

I’ve always thought Italians would eat things like olive, cheese, tomato... for the breakfast. Even though i live in the North of Turkey, our breakfast is pretty much an example of Mediterranean diet. Interesting.

E' da una settimana che ho deciso di passare alla colazione salata, faccio un toast ogni mattina e cambio solo il condimento, alternando uova, tacchino, salmone, bresaola o formaggio. Devo dire che rispetto alla colazione "dolce" tipicamente italiana la colazione salata aiuta a combattere di più la fame fino al pranzo :D

My wife is from Calabria and i had a culture shock when they gave me cornetto and coffe for breakfast.. i thought they made fun of me...because in turkish culture we have a wonderful rich breakfast...bread, butter, black tea, olives, cheese, eggs with tomato peperoncino etc... coffe also the body doesnt need when you are new wake... is not healthy... because the coffein you need then may be after 14oclock the first time... the insulin is very high in the morning time so you should eat not at 13 o' clock the first big meal like they do in italy. But in turkey we eat 3 big meals which lead to early death... and the much amount of white bread kills us early... italians live longer because they make literally intervall fasting... 13 oclock they eat and 21 oclock... so 16 hours they dont eat really food.. the colazione is no meal in my eyes... so the body cleans himself of cancer cells etc... i was really shocked when i woke up and had to wait until 13 oclock .. i did before my german turkish way of breakfast but was full for the 13 oclock meal.. so i changed for the holyday my style and understand that this 16/8 intervall is healthy... so i waited with empty stomach until 13 oclock. :) i think the most healthy would be eating at 11 and 19...
