Looks like a fun day. I bet a lot of people don't realize how frikin cold the water can get there. That with a hard offshore will make you wish you had a spring suit on.
@@CornPopWazABadDude It's not from any cold water currents. Not all of the Pacific is cold. The cold water here is caused by upwelling from the hard offshore winds that blow here during the summer months.
@@cjgamer2140 oh ok, interesting. I had no idea about that, but the offshore winds are a great thing for surging that's for sure! By far my favorite time to surf is with a good offshore wind (some people prefer just glassy)
My favorite wave. I’ve camped at playa naranjo numerous times which is about a 1/2 mile walk down the beach from the rock. It always sucks when the boats show up with a bunch of surfers. You want to really experience playa naranjo drive in through the estuaries and stay at the camp ground.
Kind of a soft wave, especially compared to Negra or Pto. Viejo de Talamanca. At this size it just starts to work. Once it becomes overhead plus then it’s really fun. At the end of the season you sometimes have an “upwelling” effect from weeks of Papagayo winds, then the water temp drops and you may need a wettie..
as the other gentleman had mentioned, crocodile sharktown,. Those things will show up whenever they want, I don't know if they're from there originally or if they got there from somewhere came across on a storm or in somebody's aquarium but I heard that they're there and there's a couple of big ones, the one critter you just don't want to f with, . . The white shark is one thing . salties . Very dangerous
@@ppg4667 much like shark encounters, the chances of running into a croc are likely small, but the risk is never zero. Sorta like driving your car, you're as careful as you can be, but you just can't control for the speeding mack truck coming the other way with a drunk driver at the wheel. I suppose that's the essence of surf travel is being willing to just jump overboard and go out and have fun. If it's your time to go, then that's the way it goes. Stay alert😎🤙
@@dcards4632 thx for replying. I've been thinking of checking it out but don't want to commit by paying for a boat. I live in the Tamarindo area and I haven't found a google location 🤙
