Jesus tells a story in Lukes gospel about heaven and hell Luke 16 boasts one of the saddest stories Jesus ever told and its packed with insight into our eternal states. #bible #heaven #hello Sub Count: 7,939
I just noticed that when Abraham said that if people didn't believe to Moses and the prophets wouldn't believe someone that returned from the death either, he was referring to Jesus. 😮😮
The thing that always stood out to me whenever i read this is even in death, in hell, the rich man is asking for Lazarus to do 2 things for him. Its like, even with all this torment, he still views Lazarus in some way as a servant, a weak beggar thats suppose to do the actions he desires, its like he didn't understand. Something like that.
No, all NDE I've heard spoke about people screaming to the visitor to go do favours for them in desperation. The hopelessness there will make anyone do that.
I agree with you. Hell is more of a state of being than perhaps a place. Think about when you are mad, and eventually, you calm down and have some peace. Imagine never being comforted and stuck in a state of anger. That is what I think hell really is. People also don't realize they are already in hell. The only escape is to forgive.
Jesus Was a real historical person, if God is real why does He punish people.??? If God is real why fear him??? If godis real and not an ET. why do what he says, instead of what's RIGHT!!!?? I personally believe God is an ET,that came here Long ago. & that people thought they were gods. & prceeded to treat them as such.

God gave me a dream one time about what it is to witness to someone. It was in parable form. In the dream, there was a christmas tree that was being taken down. Christmas was over and it was going to be burned. I came to Him and saw that he was in tears. I asked why. He said that one of his precious ornaments he had made and loved refused to leave the tree. I said "maybe I can talk to it" God looked so hopeful. He said "Maybe it will listen to you. It won't listen to me anymore." I went to the ornament and said "You've gotta leave the tree! Its going to be burned! Don't you know that??!" And it still refused to let go of it's branch. But then I tried again, "Look, God made you special. He loves you with every fiber of his being. He is torn up about the idea of losing you. Please let go of the tree." When I said this, the ornament suddenly became repentant of its stubbornness and it let go. I pulled it off the branch and handed it to God. God wept tears of joy when I passed it over to him. He held the ornament to his heart like it was a human child. I can never tell this dream without crying. Preach God's love in this way. Warn people but do it like I did in my dream. The only thing the ornament would listen to was hearing the truth about the heart of the father towards it. Warning it of its fiery doom did nothing.
Is God Light, Fire or Both? Does Glory unseen not perhaps feel like Fire? Are people not also refined in Fire? What even then if we might also be our own tree? So in this also God please ensure I neither mislead other or that other mislead me. This prayer also seemingly pointing to Israel and the two trees. Moses, Christ or Both as I see it. Amen
An interesting fact is that Abraham was a rich man just like the one mentioned in the story. But unlike "Dives" he completely submitted himself to God even to the point of sacrificing his own son. Maybe that's what Jesus meant when he said that it would be very hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God because he would have to sacrifice A LOT. Just my thoughts.

Hell was originally created for spirits and demons who are not physical beings, yet they too felt the sting of hell. I believe hell is the psychological state of being seperated from God, a state of distress much more painful than anything physical

I believe that all of the afterlife is metaphysical and ran by energy. All energy is recycled obviously and all energy is transferred and not dissipated normally. I can see a "limbo" being a thing where certain energy wavelengths are shed or gained leading to one to be placed into a heaven or hell. Humanity and it's machinations are not simple and there is a lot to sort through after all.
There are so many friends and family I have that haven’t or don’t want to accept this truth. I want to say so much but do not want to push them further away. The hardest thing I’m enduring with this is that patience. I’ve prayed and asked God to help them open their hearts and minds. Allow me to help them or anyone at that so they believe before it’s too late. I keep thinking about myself and how my transition came with a snap of the fingers. Theirs could be as well.
@@ribellefinn9420 I hear you as well. I understand. Trust in the small seeds you have planted within those you speak of. Know the power of the seed which can grow the mighty oak. Our Lord loves them more than you do. I hope you can accept that in the way that I truly mean it. The soil in which you planted the seed is out of your hands. The watering of the seed is out of your hands. This is all in our Lords timing. There is a reason for everyones own personal season. Much like the reason you changed into the season of your own personal blossoming. These situation merely fosters and strengthens our faith. I know it feels hopeless and fruitless when it comes to the ones we care about but this is simply because we are impatient gardeners. We want to till the soil ourselves, plant, water, fertilize and provide the sunlight tonight and in the morning we want to behold a mighty tree. Keep on my dear friend, to gently spread seeds wherever you go as there are fertile soils out there that simply require a seed. You bear fruitful seeds from your garden of faith. Patience IS faith. Faith is your seeds. The rest is in HIS timing. You are doing wonderfully my friend! Blessings to you and yours!
God wants us to plant seeds in people's hearts , especially those who are lost or astray. If you have alerted those you love already , even a fraction of it, then you have planted your seed. The size of a mustard seed is sufficient. Once you've planted it, God is in charge of watering it and nurturing it afterwards. This is our sole duty unto others and only God can decide who he saves. I am on a continuous journey to keep learning from our Lord and savior Jesus Christ but as I do so, and while God supports me, to then pass on my lessons and experiences. I shall not live a selfish life with my own interests and gain. I want the same for me that I want for the next person. Lets continue to remain strong in our faith and help those who are wanting the light to their darkness. Praise the lord Jesus Christ and be the grace of our powerful and loving God ! Amen
Because God gave us all free will and sin has entered this world. There is a constant battle between good and evil. Sometimes evil wins. And good looses. Because of choices people make. But that's only on this earth. People eventually have to pay the price for their actions and their beliefs. There's no getting away from it in eternity
This story isn't just sad, it is horrifying to anyone who is an unbeliever. As a prodigal son, I can assure you that living a Christlike life is far more fulfilling and satisfying than a life of empty fornication, alcohol, and too many other sins to mention. Does sin feel good? Yes, but only for a short time. Do not let God give you over to a reprobate mind. Also, remember that in Philippians 2:12, "fear & trembling" means the utmost respect and reverence. The Gospel (i.e. how to be saved) is found in 1 Cor. 15:1-4. If you believe that, and do not believe in vain, you are saved!
We’re on the same page but let me ask this. What if Dives DID believe in Christ. It isn’t a sin to have wealth. We’re making a lot of assumptions of Dives about him being wicked and all but what if he wasn’t? Makes it seem like I have to be homeless to get to heaven and idk I just don’t like that
@@tomdower6668 I just stuck this comment on another part of this thread, and will at least share my earnest and well-thought-out confusion about the very thing you're asking about. 😆 You'll see what I mean. ______ I once heard a really confusing sermon in my aunt's Catholic parish, and the confusing part actually kind of cracks me up. I've pondered the story for years, and still can't figure out what the priest's intention was, although I know what I took away from it. One day, a poor monk found his habit of prayer to have been eaten by rats, and had to beg for a new one from the nearby townsfolk. Only a short while later, that also was eaten by rats. Again and again, he found himself begging for replacement habits due to the same recurring problem. "Enough," he thought, and took in a stray cat to catch the rats for him. The rats alone could not sustain the cat, so he somehow got a cow as well, so that the cat could also have milk to drink. The cow, also, required feeding, and so somehow the monk procured a plot of land so that the cow could graze. The chores of caring for his animals were becoming too much for one person, leaving him no time at all to even pray, and so eventually the monk decided to take a wife to help manage the growing estate. In time, their family business had made them the wealthiest folks in town. Then, however, the local bishop arrived for a visit. The bishop was shocked, but the man explained that there was no other way to stop the rats from eating his habit of prayer. You see, I don't understand-was this story a call to renounce ALL worldly possessions and just deal with the shirts on our backs getting eaten by disease infested rats AT OTHERS' PERPETUAL EXPENSE, or instead a call to live "IN the world, but not OF the world" by shouldering our material duties to each other in mutually beneficial cooperation, and just letting God worry about our increase by being neither desirous of it, NOR AFRAID of what may turn out to have been a gift destined for some specific purpose-which bad spending decisions out-of-touch with God's values would have negated, anyway, and left us empty-handed when the time came for whatever purpose God had in mind from the start. 🤔 Like, imagine if Joseph HADN'T stored up grain, in times of plenty, for the time of famine that God warned him about. Joseph listened, and despite the wealth of Egypt at his fingertips, handled it prudently and selflessly, and pleased the Lord. 🤔 Not that things worked out so well with the Egyptians, after all. 😱
I'm Catholic myself and am inclined to the monk's point I view here.... I really don't know what the priest who told this story right from the pulpit had in mind, because I just automatically expect funky Socialist twists on everything: twists like the secular-criminalization of wealth on basic principle, and even taking personal PRIDE in being COMPETITIVELY "poorer than thou". 🤔 Which, IMO, is TOTALLY like wailing in the streets for attention while you're fasting SUPPOSEDLY to honor the Lord. 🤔 Anyways, if the monk's decisions (which were ultimately mutually beneficial to God's other children in the village, rich and poor alike) are to be seen as correct even if surprising, then I think it explains at least one reason why God was so angry about King David taking a census. By not taking a census, then the growth of the kingdom, and its wealth, and its human potential, was for God alone to truly know and ultimately plan for; whereas taking censuses would be the kind of thing done in preparation for war: you need to know every little tool, resource, and human being that is at your disposal-in preparation to reap by conquest and add to it all, faster than the Lord has allotted by honest progression. 🤔
Thank you for the time and dedication to showing people about our Great Lord and Savior. Just said a little prayer for your ministries, keep up the great work my brother!
I’m a saved believer. I came to God because of the fear of hell initially. I’m now traumatized. Recently I’ve been thinking about the fate of unbelievers and it bothers me on the worst level. I can’t imagine God won’t just annihilate the souls that reject Him as a courtesy.
I've also been thinking about this for a lot of my life and the problem of people who never heard of Jesus. For example, they kind of recently discovered an island that hadn't had outside contact since before the Roman Empire was established so a lot of generations had no way to hear about Jesus and mainstream Christianity would say that they're going to hell but I think that that would make God a monster instead of a loving father so I think he actually wipes out evil people's souls and they're just gone.

I’ve struggled and am struggling with an addiction and it’s the most crippling thing in my walk with God. Honestly don’t know what to do or how to finally break it and it’s killing me
Same here buddy. I think what's helping me is self reflection. I've lived a life of sin and false belief. I thought I was saved and that was the end of the battle over my soul but recently I've come to realize that with the revelation of Christ's nearing return, the battle had only begun when I proclaimed Jesus as the ruler of my life. It's certainly put a new resolve in me that I hadn't felt in my previous attempts to break away from my addictions. Trust in God, ask others to pray for you, and reflect over the poor choices you might've made over the years. Learn from your mistakes as well as asking God for guidance. Try your hardest. I hope I could help in some way.
prayer does the most but here's the dilemma, speaking as someone who struggles with addiction also. whether it be substance abuse or sexual immorality, or even just worldly things. its all in the mindset and having praying without a fully committed heart is praying in vain. Addiction is always there in your mind telling you to ignore , to justify behavior, to shield you from the truth of God's Love. I find the best thing to do in this situation is to get some distance from anything that connects you to the addiction, force avoidance on anything that might help you atain gratification from addiction.. whether it is deleting numbers , apps, block websites, stay off social media browsing or internet searching when bored use it as a tool not entertainment. and finally find a secret place without distractions to speak to God and plead for strength in the Mighty Name of Jesus i Pray for you! Amen
When the video stopped st 2:23, it immediately reminded me of atheist debates in which they claimed that if God himself would come down from the sky, or if they personally witnessed a supernatural miracle, they "would believe." But, this story reinforces the fact that it is highly unlikely....that they are so blinded by their own naturalistic/materialistic views that in spite of their access to the Bible, and in apite of potentially witnessing something supernatural, we all know they (most likely) wouldn't change their opinion....(but we should ALWAYS still pray for them) Jesus also mentions in Matthew 11:25-30, "I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes......." On a side note, one atheist, Richard Dawkins, said that "IF" God were to come down from heaven and prove his own existence to him, HE WOULD PROBABLY THINK HE WAS HALLUCINATING!!! It really is a sad story and we have to pray to God that we have the courage and strength to tell non-believers the Good News of Jesus (I'm speaking to myself as well because i have non-believers in my own family)
If God himself came down from Heaven, saying I'm the one true God. I'd still be skeptical. Hell, if there are superior races out there in the universe and are able to reach us, what a perfect way to control us by studying us and telling us what we want to hear. Just a thought... oh and they made a movie about that.
Hi, I do not believe in God and I'm also not a naturalist or materialist, and I've also performed seemingly miraculous healing and other feats. I'm not convinced that the bible is accurate since it claims that YHVH is a loving god, when it's clear to me that his actions in the bible say otherwise.
@@chrishyde5903good for you and your sense of superiority and hubris. Stay away. God isn't going to beg you to accept him. Jesus says to not cast one's pearls before swine. Meaning that even God realizes the futility of trying to reach certain people. They're too self-absorbed and conceited to be worth the effort. Your gripe with God not being loving is in the fact that he makes people face the consequences of their actions. Something you absolutely don't want to accept because you want to live a life without said consequences. Good luck to you in your godlessness. 😊😊😊
@@chrishyde5903 If you read the entire bible, you may gain wisdom. In order for that to happen you must want it. You must want it in your heart first and foremost. But throughout the books and stories in scripture, you begin to understand that God is just and their are many examples given as to how that is. God gives everyone the same opportunities to find him. "Seek and you shall find". Many people (especially non-believers) take this too literal. Because God doesn't always answer when we demand it, like a genie. God may not always answer because he knows in your heart you are not prepared to hear the real answers he will have for you. Fear of God is the initiative to wisdom. As you fear God, he learns that in your heart you are aware of consequence. When you realize and deeply understand this, he then talks to you further but reminds you that now that he has your full attention he will comfort you in telling you that laying your trust in him will be the best decision you make. He will guard you and guide you and over your life time you will begin to see what he meant for you all along. That is why we live for so many years because it takes a long run before you can see the finish line. The road to God will only reach faster the more you commit. If you try to take shortcuts , you may but when you do you become lost again and you wouldnt find God in the first place if you werent lost before, even once. It takes courage to admit your wrongs, and to admit your ways of living but God knows it already. He waits for those to call upon him with all their hearts and it is promised that he will touch your soul and it is a feeling like no other. It is not an easy, nothing is. But the end goal is to be with our creator. It is completely worth it and as how he intended it to be. I advise you to continue to open your mind and heart to God and he will answer. I love you and want the same for my life as I do for you, but most importantly God loves you !

My dad passed away in the same sort of condition. My only comfort is that someday when I pass, if I’m not reunited with him in heaven, I will not remember him. I wonder if eternal torment is caused by the fact that in the afterlife we will not have access to the things which we are enslaved to for our happiness, those things which we worship during our lifetime. Therefore, repentance is turning away from our idols and returning to God who is our only true source of love and blessing. We punish ourselves by enslaving ourselves to all the things which the world calls holy. Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner!

At 7:50 I understand what the message is saying but I don’t think that’ll be the case bc in Revelation 21:4 it says “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away." Meaning that you won’t remember those who didn’t make it into heaven and if you were able to see those who you failed to preach to then that would only bring sadness. But great video, God bless
I"m sorry but I disagree with your reasoning behind every tear being wiped away. Why would God want to wipe away every memory you have about people you loved but faced judgement? That doesn't sound very comforting. Our God in heaven commanded us to honor our fathers and mothers but if they were not saved, He will make it so thst you never knew they existed? My apologies but I disagree. If you want to know what Jesus actually said about hell, put away the KJV and other traditional translations and get a literal word-for-word translation of the original Greek NT text. You'll be pleasantly surprised. God bless.
@@alwaysadawg6488 Isaiah 65:17 supports the idea that there will be no memory of the former things, which makes sense as the OP posted. @@TheBenevolentDictatorship Does that mean that you will enter heaven with no memory of your family or friends or will you enter with those and God will say, "Don't worry about them. I'll make you forget them." I cannot see that as a loving thing. Being told that you will soon lose all of your memories and feelings for the people you loved on Earth.
@@alwaysadawg6488 God gave everyone the same opportunities to find him. Which means it is justified by him to welcome you into his kingdom but to wipe away your old memories and feelings. Your family or loved ones get the same treatment if they do as you do. So, if you love each other then you will work with each other to achieve the same goal. I understand it isnt possible for everyone to do and nor is it easy, but we must do whatever we can to guide our loved ones to God no matter what. If you need to step away from them, you did your duty. God takes care of the rest.
You think people go to heaven because they are afraid to go to Hell? Also the bible says we sleep until the Messiah Returns it says it multiple times actually, but even repentance is as filthy rags , fear of hell is not going to draw you closer to our heavenly father but it may motivate you to seek him more earnestly Acts 2" all those who call upon the name of the lord Jesus Christ shall be saved ." Drops Mic.
Doesn’t it also say that not everyone who calls out, “Lord, Lord!” Will be saved? You must believe it in your Godly made spirit core and act upon that belief every day! Otherwise what’s the difference between salvation and lying to get it.. it takes more than just an apology.

nowhere does it say repentance is as filthy rags, it says righteousness is as filthy rags, as in works deemed by men to be rightous, like roman catholics do every single day, that they call sacraments, faith isnt a sacrament for them, and they rely on priests to do works for their salvation, those are filthy rags.

This was really good. I've noticed that the Word talks about the dead either knowing or not knowing things. In Ecclesiastes 9:5-6, it says that the dead know nothing. Yet in Luke, it seems they have full memory and even active vision of what is going on elsewhere. Not that it's a major concern because the takeaway here is to make sure we stay out of hell in the first place :D
The one thing this video gets incorrect, or at least doesn't describe accurately, is Heaven being final... At least the Heaven that people typically think of. In the Bible it states that Heaven is basically where you will reside until Jesus returns and creates the new Earth, where you will get a new body and be with God forever.
@@mlady8137 Rev. 21:1-4 mentions how a new heaven and new earth will be created when Jesus returns. Which is where His people will reside with Him for eternity. Revelation makes it sound like a place where heaven has merged with a new earth, so that there is no separation between the two. So it stands to reason that the Heaven God resides in before Jesus returns is not the Heaven where human souls will spend eternity. There's a lot more to it of course. You could spend hours looking into it, like you can with anything in the Bible. That's the basic gist of it though.
This was the story that made me repent for the first time. This and in Mat describing how hard it is to enter heaven. I cried for three days and Jesus comforted me in a dream but told me I need to sever myself from my old life. Never turned back after that.
If you look at the Greek/Roman description of Hades, it is like a black swirling pit to where there is no escape. Sounds like a literal Black Hole where not even consciousness can escape, pulling apart every molecule in the body would probably feel like eternal fire. Could this be how souls are discarded in the spirit world?
This is what any contemporary description of the spirit world describes hell as. It's dark s there is an absence of love and light. It's cold and no water (though they don't need it) they haven't broken earth attachments yet, so believe they do need water. But cannot find any. They are condemned by their own faith in fear....they are redeemed once they grief and begin to find healing and then if they ask for God they fond god actually loves them, and begin repenting.
I heard hell was just darkness and a bottomless pit and the fire is more of an internal fire from all your sins eating you alive. Could be wrong though idk
Thank you Lord for guiding me to this message. I have returned to the Lord's embrace. I still have my struggles with sin, but with His aid I am pushing back against sin, and now this Father's Day as I go to see my loved ones. I can remind them that Jesus loves them, and want to see them again too. God bless you, and thank you for this video my friend.
I have a best friend in Christian private school who only went there to stop being bullied, but he says he's not saved, and he hears about Jesus everyday but doesn't repent and I don't wanna be annoying, so please help me I don't want him to go to hell, what should I do?
It might seem annoying but I think if you’re that close it shows that you care more than anything, they’re already getting the teaching of Christ but there’s something holding them back you should try to help get to the root of the problem to recommend them to someone who is strong in Christ and can help guide them one on one if you feel like it might be better but I think you two just talking one on one is good too because you know them and they’ll prolly be more comfortable talking with you, now as what to tell them I think maybe start by sharing this video and get the convo started from there
Stick with them, and help them out if they have any issues if you can. Ask why they cannot repent from their ways. Is it pride? Is it the view of their own actions? Embarrassment? Help them with that too, but don't force it down their throat. Ultimately its their choice too.
W video and also when u mentioned hell isn't demons serving drinks I already knew that and I think most people do cuz if someone says dang u to hell they usually dislike or even hate that person and they say"dang u to hell" because they know that that is a terrible place of eternal and everlasting pain and suffering and I feel like it could be the same for atheist people telling someone to burn in hell cuz even if they don't believe in god, heaven, and hell they know that hell automatically is a place that one would find sorrow and regret. The atheist doesn't believe in god but it is universal that hell is the worst place to every be and that u would do anything not to go there. That is all and I enjoyed the video and I appreciate that u try to help educate people of the word of god and the bible😊
Please yeshua forgive me. I have a hard time learning to trust you, and this has brought lots of pain to me and others. I will be going to church for the first time this weekend, hopefully I will feel the connection greater then ever before and I will truly repent. Amen
You can’t call yourself Christian until you’ve already worked out #1, and if you’ve worked out #1 then you are already justified and a brother of Jesus and a son of God (or sister/daughter). There isn’t anything more to do for salvation but receive it and rest in it.
@@nathanm.3474 there is nothing in scripture that definitively says once saved always saved is false. Quick example: slave to righteousness. Do slaves have a choice to leave? No. They cannot. How about "You are not your own"? We belong to Jesus. Is satan more powerful that he can trick and steal something that belongs to Jesus? Is he more powerful than the blood of christ? Wouldn't walking away from salvation after having accepted it be a sin? Aren't all of our sins forgiven - past, present, and future? Oh, but this sin is a big sin. Bigger than the blood? Jesus won't drag you kicking and screaming to heaven, but once you've accepted and changed kingdoms from darkness to light, I don't personally believe there is any amount of deception that can be pulled on you to remove your salvation. Just my opinion. (And others'.)
the worst part about gehenna (Hell) is the fact that you are both tormented mentally and physically for all eternity alongside the fallen angels and other people with the absolute realization that there's no going back
That reminds me of what happened to azazel. He was forced into hell but could still see what was going on above & would be forced to watch all his loved ones parish and be sent to the same place
Wow, I’ve never been told in full detail about the afterlife before. I’ve always heard that in heaven, it’s eternal worshipping. I’ve always thought that in hell, it’s eternal bad stuff. But now it sounds more than just “bad stuff”.
It isn't. What's worse is the poor man does the EXACT same thing the rich man did (ignoring the suffering of another) but is rewarded for said behavior. This is just a repackaging of the philosophy of "an eye for an eye". Something Christians purport to be against.
In the book it says you will forget about the people that aren’t there like they will be erased from your mind so I don’t think you would be able to look down and see hell
I was thinking about this recently. If we drink ow someone was “missing” then we woudl miss them. Then we woudl be sad. We woudl feel pain. We might know they went to hell. How can we have those feelings in Heaven when we have them here. It’s an answer only the dead know. We will one day too
People in hell choose to be disrespectful, selfish, greedy, manipulative, cowardly, dishonest, or weaponize the Bible and take it out of context for their selfish agenda! In the same way, most criminals are in jail because they choose a life of crime. Christianity is the path to Heaven, but Jesus, who is all Just, would never send a person there who doesn't deserve to be there. Also, someone who calls themself a Christian who follows the path of the devil is acting immoral. Yes, we were born with original sin and are not perfect. However, if you have the intention to follow Satan and go to church and call yourself a Christian, God can look into your heart to see your true intentions.
I’m a saved believer. I came to God because of the fear of hell initially. I’m now traumatized. Recently I’ve been thinking about the fate of unbelievers and it bothers me on the worst level. I can’t imagine God won’t just annihilate the souls that reject Him as a courtesy.
@@brettgarandza683 I'm a saved believer as well and I won't lie, I've also been struggling with the concept of eternity in eternal damnation. A part of me is desperate to find out that it doesn't really mean eternal damnation, rather just damnation for a period of time until evil is completely wiped out ... Idk. But as for the coming to God because of the fear of hell initially, I don't think that's healthy. I hope you've grown from that :-) "There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, for fear has to do with torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love." (1 John 4:18) It's good to be constantly aware of the terrible reality of hell, but I think we should weigh out whether we love God more than we dread hell. What's comforting is that it's not even up to us to love Him perfectly; the Holy Spirit is the one who sheds His perfect love in our hearts, when we seek Him.
one thing that is not in this story was Lazarus Rightheous and was The Rich sinful ??? but anyways its a warning to me to attend to the Poor and Needy , we (many of us) live in filthy rich western societies , and still poverty exists 😢 WHY there is enough for ALL people ??? 😢
Sin isn't what sends you to hell, but rather unbelief. If you trust in your own ability to obey the law rather than what Jesus did on the cross, then you will join the rich man in hell.
6:53 is the only part of the video that anyone needs to pay attention to, he blatantly states he doesn't mean salvation by works, and then literally says exactly that by doing works of the law which is turning from sins, or stopping sins. Grace doesn't require that, thats the whole point of Grace. Repent, and believe the Gospel, which means change your mind from unbelief in Christ alone, to Belief in Christ alone for your salvation. For only God can justify a sinner, and all have fallen short of the glory of God.
Well said. No one can "stop sinning." If we could; Christ wouldn't have needed to die for us. That's literally the reason why we and the angels praise God as Holy, because He's the only one who actually can't sin. I feel so sorry for our fellow brothers and sisters who are still caught in the "stop sinning" mentality and trying to achieve perfection through the works of the flesh, when they could just enjoy the freedom that we have in Christ, and trust in HIS righteousness, rather than our own pitiful attempt at righteousness.
@@markusrahkola7915 Lol no one is entering heaven then, not even you because you think you are without sin even after accepting Christ. Grace doesn't require you to do anything, because Christ himself said everyone has already failed to keep the law, so in The Fathers sight no one will be justified by the flesh.
@@markusrahkola7915 Have you left all of your old sinful habits yet? Don't deceive yourself; no flesh can. That's the exact reason why we need a saviour and we need to TRUST in HIS righteousness, then REST in it. Is it a "license to sin?" NO! And honestly, that's a very boring and lazy argument always proposed by proud Christians who think they're working hard for their own "righteousness," when all they're doing is deceiving and puffing themselves up with pride.
Very informative, thanks for the video! I still have one question since a long time, how am I able to be happy in heaven if I see my brother burning in hell for some mistake he did without me knowing? I would be full of regret of not asking more, of not seeking more to talk to him or to be close enough for him to open up
The rich man represents Judah (who had 5 brothers and 6 half brothers), and Lazarus represents the Gentiles. This parable is prophetic. The Pharisees new Jesus was talking about them. Nobody goes to Abraham’s bosom when they die. The Jews would reject the messiah, and salvation would be made available to Gentiles.
How can any human choose god by his free will if there is an eternal hell otherwise? Any human will choose god by fear to be send to eternal hell if he or she doesn't choose god. I can't imagine that this is what god wants..................................................................................
Love the channel. Going a level deeper - this isn’t a parable or made up story. It’s very clear in scripture that Jesus is talking about an actual event that happened. Given this man’s wealth, it’s entirely possible the people knew of him or knew him from local history.
Perhaps one can come back from paradise....Moses and Elijah appeared with Jesus on the mount during his transfiguration. Samuel appeared to Saul when the witxh called him up...she was a bit surprised.
There have been endless interpretations of this parable, and I don't think it's fair to conclude with a definitive answer this easily, and especially not when the conclusion is so dark.. I think this parable, like so many of the others, is a criticism of the pharisees. Jesus might be saying: "So you Pharisees believe in a literal heaven and hell for eternity. Well, if people are to be judged by their heart, who would go to this hell? YOU guys." Also, some theorize that Lazarus in this parable is Jesus himself, and that the dogs licking him is a reference to gentiles who will embrace him. And then Jesus predicts that many Pharisees will not believe him, even when he will rise from the dead.
It sounds like you're criticizing the idea of a literal Heaven and Hell a little. I'm not sure if that's your intention, but that is what the Bible teaches.
@@christiancrusader9374that’s not what he’s saying; he’s saying the parable is not so black and white. This is a super watered down Anglican version of this parable. In truth, when he references ‘Abraham’s side’, the direct translation is ‘Abraham’s bosom’, which is a paradise like holding place. It’s not our eternal resting place; Jewish Torah teaches of the land of the deceased, being ‘Sheol’ as a similar place. Understanding the cultural and linguistic context from Christ’s teachings are so incredibly important. It’s never been “good go to heaven and bad go to hell”. That mode of teaching is what has contributed to the pain of modern faith today and why so many turn their back on our faith.
That's right. Hell is the waiting room before sentencing and the Lake of Fire is the ultimate destination. It's explained at the end of Revelation. On the good side, "To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord"!
Hell is not a real place, the lake of fire is the great purifier that will destroy all the wickedness inside of souls that rejected the gospel and or didn’t hear it whilst here on earth. Everyone aside from those who are born again here will go to the lake of fire and eventually every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus is Lord
Unfortunately I won’t inherit paradise, I got on the wrong path which was sin and God gave me over to a reprobated mind, life is truly depressing. God called me out of the world and blessed me with the Holy Spirit but I struggled with being obedient and ended up in a psychiatric ward for a good couple months. My spirit walk only lasted about 4 months 😭.
Hey man, i get you and the way you feel. But you should not condemn yourself. You hurt Christ with sin so it is up to Him to forgive, not to us. When you didn't care about sin, Christ died for you. Now that you do, how much more will He help you in your fight. Don't give up, Jesus wants you with Him in Heaven and as the good Shepherd He will help you get there.
@@robbertbroere1427 you cannot be forgiven when you have been given over to a reprobated mind, the Bible is pretty clear on that. I once had the Holy Spirit and it felt truly amazing but i deviated off the narrow path and it cost me everything. God wants 100% of you not 99% or 50%, he only cares about righteousness. God will cut off if you continue to wilful sin but only if you have been filled with the Holy Spirit.
@@Coupy-pie Do you hate the Lord? Do you wish he didn’t exist? Do you feel no more conviction for your sins? If you answer no to these questions then you do not have a reprobate mind just because you have backslid ( all of us have) doesn’t mean you are condemned! I pray you seek God’s word and it fills you whole again. ❤
@@EBabyy359 you can’t be filled with the spirit twice. It’s too late for me, once God removes the Holy Spirit you’re screwed because God won’t give it back. I’m not keeping Gods commandments so yeah I technically hate God. You have to read Roman’s 1:28 to understand what a reprobate is.
Question The only people in heaven from my understanding are Jesus, Elijah, Moses, possibly the saints who were resurrected with Jesus and maybe Enoch, does this not mean in order to be in heaven you need to be alive? ( hence the resurrection of the righteous during the second coming) Also Aren’t the parables of Jesus, stories used to convey moral or spiritual lessons? And therefore not literal? Also also I don’t recall a place in the bible where the wicked humans will burn for eternity, yes there’s a lake of fire but no man can withstand that for eternity, and an eternity in Gods absence isn’t torcher and pain it’s void and darkness, wouldn’t it be more plausible for life after death for the unrighteous and non-believing to be non existent? hell is referred to as a place prepared for Satan and the fallen angels not mankind? How could a God of love allow for his own creation (by the billions) to burn in eternal… ETERNAL torment? I mean no disrespect :)
Yeah, parables aren't supposed to be literal. That would imply that the parable of the man who had a son who was "once dead, but is now alive" story actually happened.
"if people didn't believe to Moses and the prophets wouldn't believe someone that returned from the death either, he was referring to Jesus." Yes that was referring to Jesus. But I will add something else here which is not correctly understood this "story" of Lazarus and the rich man it was not something that actually happend in the past, it is actually just a parable. When people die, in death you are not aware of anything at all, you have no consciousness at all, you just sleep the very deep sleep of death. A death person can't praise God, can't sing to Him out o joy, they don't love, they don't hate, they don't do anything, they can't see, they can't hear, they can't move, have no consciousness at all, they are like they never existed before. The only trace of their existance is their remains (dead body) and the memory of loved ones that still live, they are not in heaven, not yet at least. Was Lazarus in heaven before Jesus resurrected him ? No, he was sleeping in the earth, the deep sleep of death, he was not in heaven, how sad would had being Lazarus if Jesus would had summoned him from heaven back to earth again ... For a dead person the sensation that it's instant is because they sleep an extremely deep sleep of death, and so, even if thousands of years had passed since they died, their mind he will perceive it as something instant, they are not aware that such long time passed, but is like one or two seconds when they will be resurrected by Jesus at the second coming. The humans don't have a spirit or soul after they die which allows them to maintain their consciousness. The soul is the result of God creating the physical body out of the dust of the earth, shape it and then giving to this body the breath of life, these two make a living soul, thus death is the reversed process of this. This subject needs a lot of study and examination in the Bible, I can't describe in this comment section all this and I was already too long. Search on youtube this subject of death, using the Bible, study. Even the souls from under the altar in the book of revelations are still as a figure of speach, it is not the souls that speak literally but it is the justice of God, as explained in the same way by the blood of Abel who cried out to God to be avenged. Can blood literally cry out from the ground to God and demand vengeance? And why did the blood of Abel and not Abel cry out? Because it is a still form of God's expression to show that his justice demands revenge. And one more thing is that there is no eternal hell, so like non-stop, non-stop, never ends, and people burning in hell like that, never ending of burning in hell, agonny. NO, just think how cruel is to punish one man, just like that in hell, for his 70 or 90 years of a life of sin, like for ever. Hell will only be unleashed when satan will attack with his angels and all people that refused God and did not believed in Jesus, they will attack the Holly City - New Jerusalem at the end, when they will do that, then God will rain the fire of hell uppon them at that time and they will burn for ever in the sence that this fire will not go out until it will consume everything that is consuming, after that will go out but untill then nothing can extinguish it, it will only go out by it self. Please see the following Bible verses for the subject on how death is for humans: Psalm 6:5 ; John 11:9-14 ; Genesis 2:7-11 and there are many other examples of other verses, just look for it, read the Bible yourself and pray to God. God bless you all
Guys this is a parable. It was a story with a hidden meaning. Parables are not to be taken literally. This parable doesnt speak of a literal hell and heaven . Jesus already said that at the end, those that were doomed were meant to be destroyed. Cease to exist. Remember the verse that says “But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Jesus associated hell with destruction. Hell is an event of destruction. Not a place to torment conscious dead people . If you read the entire chapter, before Jesus presented this parable, he was in argument with the Pharisees. Jesus pointed out that they were fixated at accumulating wealth while hypocritically appearing good to other people. They pretended to be righteous but internally, they are full of greed. The context of the parable was not about death or what happens after death. The context was the danger of greed and hypocrisy. . Jesus used the parable of Lazarus and the rich man to warn of the pitfalls and dangers of living a life driven by greed and a lack of love for others.
@@iamBlackGambit is literally says hell, you've got another thing coming, you're kidding me, may God open your eyes 2 Corinthians 4:4 may the Lord be praised your imagination is overtaking you

@sondraguy5108 No, that's literally forcing you to choose God with fear and if you don't, you go to Hell for eternity no matter of you're a good or bad person. Yet, what is this hell doing for satan and the angels? They aren't being tortured. They run this planet with evil and our creator allows it. If our creator is so almighty and can do anything, why doesn't it take away hell and forgive all these evil beings since it's so loving? Everybody can enjoy heaven. Nah, to me, this creator seems most evil to me, more evil than satan. Hell for eternity is the most evil thing created known to human existence.
The point is that no one is a good person. We are all sinners, who deserve hell. The love of God is shown in that he paid the penalty for our sin with Jesus on the cross. God’s justice was satisfied with Jesus death. He made an escape for us. He is loving and He is good. He’s also perfect and just and cannot tolerate sin to any degree. So hell is just for those who do not choose the sacrifice of Jesus to pay for their sins. This is serious stuff and you need to make the right choice.
@@rocknrye9273 God gave us free well, he allows us to choose where we want to go. He loved us so much that he gave us his only son Jesus Christ so we will have an opportunity to be with him. If God didn’t give us free will we would be forced to worship him like it or not but God give us free well to let us choose to love him and follow him. Also if God allows us to heaven with our sins, heaven would be corrupted and won’t be holy, he doesn’t go back on his word and can’t lie. The life we live in right now it’s just a short life but the afterlife is forever. One day God will create a new earth and new heaven for us to live and enjoy. About hell, it was supposed to be for Satan and his Angels not for us, but the act of the snake between Adam and Eve brought us to that. if it wasn’t for Jesus dying on the cross for us it would be very hard for us to get to heaven because he’s the one that takes our sins and burdens. He is the only way to heaven.
A thing about describing it as burning doesn't mean there is fire there because chemicals, poisons, venoms, and such can be as or more painful that fire same can happen with health and psychological conditions. I get phantom pains which is a psychological problem that causes my body sometimes to feel strong pain when there is no physical trigger
@@Cameron-km3cf No. The bosom of Abraham is described as being in Sheol. Both the good and bad go there until judgment. The lake of fire is another term for Hell, which is to come. Upon reading your text, I looked it up again to be certain because I am definitely no scholar.
Trying to tell people about Jesus is such a delicate matter. If you get it wrong people reject and run away thinking you are just a little bit mad. With family just letting them know you are Christian can be enough. Eventually they start asking questions and slowly away you go.
