The "new" narrators voice was kind of unexpected as most are American (?), he has a lovely voice. Love this info and the info about where to visit the locations of the Continental. Thanks for the video
Winston isn't being chummy with John, he is grooming John as his replacement. With John as Manager, he could be safe. Could a member of the High Table take out a Manager? Sure. But if they did, the consequences would be devastating. Imagine: Every Continental Hotel in the world refusing to open their doors to assassins acting on High Table orders. Without the Continental, fearsome professional killers with standing in the Community would become a lawless rabble overnight. No, the High Table needs the Hotels far more than the Hotels need the High Table.
Except this was proven to be false. All of the authority of the Continental comes from the High Table. That's why they can operate without fear of anyone. The moment they break the rules (like what Winston did for John), the Continental gets desecrated which removes any of its privileges. This means no protection whatsoever and anyone can kill anyone on the hotel.
The continental is a MAGIC building. It has an ample square terrace, a multi-leveled glass and mirror room, a huge underground factory-like facility, vith 30+ feet ceiling heigt. Everything inside a tiny wedge shaped corner building.
I've been in a sketchy curio shop that's literally just a tiny building but somehow it's unnoticeably connected to the separate buildings next to it somehow. It's hard to explain and it feels really weird to step outside of afterward.
I'm so glad to see some actors from the Matrix who are also starring in John Wick's franchise. This movie and Jason Bourne are the kind that still make you want to go to the movies
I've seen the first 3 movies and always thought that there was a link between John Wick and the Continental and that includes the fact they are so accommodating with John and his dog even at the end of Parabellum can't wait
@old school honour and respect.man The movie was based in a man that his dog was killed and then he kills all people. Great script. 5 min witting because they know they will make millions when people like you that cant function the brain more than 20% can understand. Bet you vote on trump because you in the same level iq as him. Good luck mate
The fact that they got Donnie Yen doing stuff in the post-credits scene gives me hope that even if Lionsgate gave up on the franchise, Asian cinema could unofficially pick up where it leaves off. Also, Ballerina with Ana de Armas is in the works, too.
Another RU-vidr posed a theory that Winston set all this in motion. Getting Wick back into the life and going thorough everything to ultimately bring down the High Table. It was explained much better than I can, and it made a lot of sense.
@@lesevesel2898 it seems that the bowery king and winston are in cahoots, the new trailer for John wick 4 shows them both supporting John in the fight against the high table
the High Table rep asked Winston if it was a display of power in JW 3. Winston nodded and promptly shot John in the chest. Winston loves his power, even the High Table cannot take it away.
@@greyheart3001 Oh right, ofc if you have no culture and can't use google translate you need 7:24 of audio description. But then again can you call yourself a fan if you don't search for this stuff ? Heh.
@@neobscura what do you mean?I knew that Charon stuff. What I meant was not everyone knows it and for the record just because they don't doesn't make them uncultured. But yeah Looper vids are kinda useless that I agree with.
If they did it as a series it could work because each season could focus on a different time or era. But s prequel would really work too. I'd love to see something that explains the origin of the hotel and how Winston ended up there. Assuming he is the main character.
Winston: "No business in the Continental" Also Winston: Literally almost kills John Wick in the Continental. Edit: Yes I know Winston knew that Wick had a bulletproof vest, they probably planned it.
A) Winston knows that John has a bulletproof jacket, hence why he didn't just go for his head. B) Winston still hadn't come to an agreement with that chick from the High Table, so the "no business can be done in Continental grounds" rule was still nullified when Winston shot John. C) Winston could've forced John off the roof from any side, but he had him go off the side that has a lot of scaffolding that would break his fall.
It was a mystery to me, why I loved the John Wick movies with such enthusiasm, until one day it dawned on me: I am also a huge fan of, "Hokutou no Ken," as well as the anime called, "Claymore." Same basic story, but different enough so that you don't immediately notice. The formula makes for addictive viewing, though.
I'm actually surprised. I actually understood that and Claymore? Completely Awesome and completely annoying at the same time. How do you ask? Don't ask me even though I watched the entire thing but to me? Feels like an awesome story with awkward timing that always builds the tension and never quite releases it and by the time you hit the end? Realized it NEVER released the tension... suddenly ending. There's not too many movies that can hold you to the bitter end, then gives you the middle finger refusing to actually end as it is announcing it actually ended WITHOUT THE RELEASE a REAL end needs. If I sound confused? This is the FIRST show that did this to me. End result? I'm STILL mad at it but also wont say it was a bad show either. Just frustrating.
@@rafli6966 yep i have seen it its directed by none other than Gareth evans himself who created the most fascinating show this year "Gangs of london" you should see that if you haven't
I think I'd rather Winston be Helen's uncle rather than her father, or a more distant yet significant relative, if they were going to have him be that close to John. I like the idea that John may have earned respect and admiration from Winston. If there's going to be a family aspect thrown in, maybe Winston aren't too close that it can become muddied and drag the story down and far enough that John still had to earn Winston's respect.
Didn't Winston said that it was John who was first and helped him to build continental as it is today? Of course you will be a bit sentimental to someone, who made it possible for you to reach todays status.
Fun Fact - it is Keanu Reeves that has a thing for tailored white shirts which he refers to including in the movie Johnny Mnemonic where he is also more worried about white tailored shirt than his own life in jeopardy. Also in the movie Johnny Mnemonic he refers to how good the laundry service is getting out stains at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo. This means there might be laundry service so GOOD at getting out stains but only at the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo.
This is the video 📹, I wanted years ago then I'd never had to watch and enjoy any of the JOHN WICK movies 🎥 ,thank goodness for this now it helped me understand all 3 movies, The Continental was the only thing I didn't understand 🙃
I’ll go with the Continental is a hospital and John is a patient dying from a disease while his wife is by his side. (Here me out) John diagnosis of terminal illness and his mind is dealing with it by seeing the cancer has assassins trying to kill him Winston is his Doctor trying to save him Kyron is his nurse or orderly he goes to the continental to get better the High table is the rich assholes who run the hospital trying to get paid and don’t give a shit about the patients and so on ...just a theory (be kind🤔)
Winston should of waited an hour, then called on John wick, instead he calls them, tells THEM to wait an hour, now they know he gave him an hour..... AND WHEN HE KILLED DANTONIO SISTER, SHE ALREADY COMMITTED SUICIDE, WHY PLANT A BULLET IN HER HEAD..... THEN, INSTEAD OF SNEAKING OUT THE WAY HE GOT IN, HE WALKS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE CELEBRATION, AND GETS CAUGHT!!!!!
Yup yup. He even literally tells Common's character that he had a successful night. If everything was done common sense like in movies, trust me half the movies out there wouldn't exist! Especially in the horror genre.
@@DUBEE43 What about him freely roaming around in Part 3 lmfao .. especially with the entire lot of assassins after him. No disguise nothing. I mean, I'd pretty much want to hide my identity knowing the whole world is after me, right?
If Winston was John's father-in-law then they surely would have mentioned johns recently dead wife - Winston's dead daughter - yet theres nothing been said
You're probably right, but for me that would be a nice little side story to be true.I can imagine Winston being Johns F.I.L.,it might explain why Winston is so happy to assist John as he did.
@@andrewmccormack4295 I like to believe Winston only likes John because he’s willing to go so far for his wife, maybe he somewhat resonates with John’s drive maybe to take over the high table
"Delmonico's" was also a location frequented by the hero in Caleb Carr's "The Alienist", a crime thriller with a serial killer, a younger Teddy Roosevelt as a police commissioner, and the budding science of criminal forensics, set in early 1900's New York City.
I think that Winston is Hades? The High Table is the representation of the Home of the Gods, Mount Olympus? Charon is mostly a Ferryman but Charon was a Demi-God, I believe?
The bigger they are the harder they fall, I've heard from innumerable sources.... kinda goes with the elephant in the refrigerator....trying to hid from the vector a incessant mosquito is about to deliver. Run but never quite hidden.... so many possible plots and yet I'm certain Mr Reeves will have us all shaking our heads with the storyline we're about to be presented with.....can hardly wait.
Exactly what I thought Winston is smart af he knows John will take down the high table and Winston will be ready to take over. Plus in the beginning of John wick 3 John shoots the doctor in the stomach in a non lethal spot to make it look like he fought back Winston knows where to shoot and what’s a lethal shot and not
@@ernestobesto9990 ikr, a man who's in charge of a hotel where only assassins are the guest should be a assassin himself, he could've taken several headshots before John took cover under the suit. But he chose not to and I think John also knows that
@@ernestobesto9990 Winston shot him in the chest- John is wearing the tailored suit from JW 2, which blocks most bullets but not the pain from getting shot, which is why John grunts and screams as he falls down.
it's like a move to make you think to yourself Whoa!he calls him Jonathan this probably means he ain't afraid of him and he knows everything about him.And that makes you curious about what happened between them in the past.
Maybe Winston's position is actually higher in the Realm than we know so far...everyone else was dealt with immediately by the adjudicator. He was given 7 days.
6:06. "Is it possible that Winston is the father of Helen, John's late wife?" I don't think so. However, it is possible that the soft spot he had for JW is the result that he probably the only one in that entire organization and underworld culture who wanted out because of true love. That is something to be respected at the very least. Winston might even be envious, jealous, and admiring all at the same time that JW was able to get out as he wanted. Not many people get that opportunity.
Im surprised nobodies ever considered the possibility of Winston putting counterfeit gold coins into circulation. Go to John Wick 2 and watch the scene shown here at 2:20.
John Wick is truly a legendary assassin but the Continental holds many secrets from John Wick awesome movies I like watching them for entertainment only
The Desk Guy needs to be explored. Maybe team up. There needs to be a really low end 'Continental' universe, real grimey, gutter, back alley network, a motel🤗
Wow, I have stayed in Continental hotels every country I go. When someone asked me where I was staying. I said "The Continental". No wonder immigration scrutinize more. Luck my name have no Wick surname😊😊😊.
I'd like to see law enforcement come into play at some point. With that many bodies being dropped in such a short period of time, bribery, intimidation, and corruption can only go so far.
Also I really want to know about John’s car that thing is built like a race car and can take a lot of beating I think it would be cool to see him cross over into the Fast and Furious series when he does retire and have him race Dom Brian and Letty in a street race like the one from the 4th film and not just a drag race
Don't know? Most of these were made blatantly obvious in the movies. Except for the writing on the coins and the real world locations, everything else was kind of a plot point of the movies.
the coins buy favors from the businesses. Coins are earned from carrying out missions. The coins are more of a suspended value as John pays more than one coin at a time for certain tasks, like the map maker.
Yeah! 😎 😍 I'am looking forward to see the John Wick 4 🎬 🎥 📷 There was an interesting explanation about the hotel. The hitman meets with his "employer"( father-in-love)😆 or other hitman in a luxurious environment. But John W always wears a suit that suits his surroundings. 😍👍😀 Keanu is a handsome man! ❤
honestly when it comes to an upcoming tv series it would be nicer if it would speak a story of different location...would be hard to associate familiar characters with new faces even if it is a prequel series
the entire move franchise similar to modern video game. Continental is the SAFE HOUSE. which all agents can meets. even they are enemies in battlefield. you have vendors, you need special currency to buy it, you play against rule makers, police has no control over you or your actions. this is a video game movie franchise.
