Bought my Cascadia cumins IX15 brand new and been using Shell 15w40 . Today I have 700,000+ miles never had any problem . All I did after hitting 500,000 mils was adding Lucas oil stabilizer in summers just make sure u don’t add it in winters . Peace ✌🏻. Change your oil 12-15k miles with fuel water separator and fuel filters

I got a px7 engine. The main question I have is am I suppose to use full synthetic or synthetic blend to lower my soot load.

For a PACCAR PX-7 engine, full synthetic oil typically produces lower soot levels compared to a synthetic blend. Full synthetic oils have superior cleaning agents and are better at preventing the buildup of soot and sludge in the engine. Their enhanced chemical stability helps reduce the formation of combustion by-products, which leads to cleaner engine operation and less soot accumulation in the oil.

@TATEXPRESSINC ok so I just found out my boss is using Mobil delvac HDEO 15w40. Is there anything you recommend that would be better? I believe he gets it cause it's in compliance with CK-4 oil but we are in the city so we get a lot idle time, No high way runs and a lot of regens. So think we need a full synthetic oil that's ultra low ash.

Adding Lucas oil additive to the DD15 engine oil is not recommended due to potential compatibility issues. Lucas will make the oil thicker and may not assist with cold starts. Oil leaks could also be caused by adding Lucas to your oil.

Do your research the highest tinsel strength is Red Line 5/40 synthetic diesel oil No other oil comes close. But U can't find it at a truck stop so I believe for Non junk motors like egr or def CRAP the next best oil thats available anywhere would b mobile or Shell...
