WHAT LED US TO HOMESCHOOLING | Our Issues With Public School | Why We Left The Public School System 

I am going through exactly what you are sharing with my kid is in HS. The school is turning their back to parents and students who voice their own concerns against racism and discrimination and bullying. They don't want to be responsible for what is going around the school yard. with HS, they use cameras and law enforcement to get away their responsible.

Girl I was the mom who said, “I’m a better mom because my son goes to school…” God definitely laughed at me too 😆

Hey sister! I’m a nurse too. We started homeschooling in July. I still work outside the home 40 hours/week. Are you still working as a nurse, along with homeschooling? It’s a lot!! I’ve been praying about it. I’d love to be a full time stay at home Mom.

I saw a trailer for Kirk Cameron's movie on homeschooling. I couldn't get to the movie, but the trailer had so many great points that I started to consider it. I started paying more attention to the way kids acted and what they are teaching these days and I decided that he would not go back for first grade. Come to find out when my son could read nothing. The school sent him home with 9 weeks of summer reading work for me to do with him. If I still need to teach him, then what do I need the school for?

I had always considered homeschooling, but got pulled into the idea of public school when our son was diagnosed with autism. He was 3.5 and started preschool with the special education program. I was so sad to let him go, but was told it was what he “needed.” But he graduated out of that program and would have been placed in kindergarten (at 4 and would have to repeat it another year). My son has an amazing brain and truly brilliant, but socially struggles. We decided to try a young 5s program at a Montessori school with small class size and more child lead learning. It was awful. Then the shut downs happened and I was thrilled lol. It couldn’t have been a better choice after that to continue homeschooling, even though it’s been a huge learning experience every day (for all of us). He’s 8 now, and we have learned his autism expression is demand avoidance (severe anxiety driven need for control) and public school would have never worked for him, no matter what. He and his sister (6 years old) are both doing well, and we have flexibility which is so needed and appreciated. I’m beyond grateful for homeschool So glad it has been a blessing to your sweet family as well!!

I think it's instinctive for us to be the ones teaching our kids. It's in our nature like everything else. We're supposed to be the ones teaching them from the beginning till adulthood, like the animals. That's why u don't want to disconnect and let them go when they go to school, because it's litterally not time to do that yet. We need to raise them in our homes the way were meant to until we know there ready to be on there own. Not let the world do it. We're supposed to be Involved in everything I believe.

Hi, i'm a mother of 6, and some bad experiences in Secondary school. Too strict, detentions for almost everything and nothing, and the childrens doesn't like. Bulying and drugs. How to make the state schools safe, where the childrens are happy to go and make the best of their talents. I've been temporary home school my daughter, after some bully in her school, and she was refusing to go. She was stressed.

😊 God has plans for us too! I was one of the moms that thought I would not have the temperament either. In about 2017 we left public school. Our eldest was in a preschool program for special needs. It was recommended and considered amazing because it was for ASD kids and a 2:1 child:staff ratio. I didn't know preschool is actually developmentally unhealthy. Not ideal. But my child ended up abused. They let other students abuse him, staff did, they warehoused him and would often mix up the kid's work (I'd get three kid's work with very different names). Then we discovered plenty of signs of SA. Going to class late a stranger called my child by name. I knew everyone so was shocked, my child hid behind me. I asked the staff who that was with the "briefcase". They acted crazy then finally told me it's a personal masseuse for the kids they hire. "so that was a massage table?" And they responded "uh huh". So no permission needed for a man to be in a PRIVATE room with my child laying down on a table. They claimed my child didn't do that.... Parents barely have rights when they interest their kids to the public system look at how it's run everyone I have been to including my private school was like a prison. It's practically impossible to get evidence of abuse for a child that is nonverbal especially and disabled. Unfortunately as we prepared to enter kindergarten at a different school in the district suspicions were popping up and I asked to have some kind of recording device placed in the public classroom for my child and found out that it's illegal and enroaching on privacy in a public classroom. Talk about an oxymoron for you. You're not allowed to just randomly show up and see your kid at the drop of a hat It took forever anytime I wanted to sign in to see my child before and it definitely would have at the bigger school. I did a lot of research and found out that it is an unfortunate reality that many kids get abused every year within our school systems I looked at my state of California to begin with.I could hardly believe how many cases there were that never made it to the news of severe abuse if not even death and many times the staff have excuses that let them get off very easy with the legal system if they get charged with anything at all. I even did find this out with my narcissistic mother becoming a special needs teacher around that time and she would brag about the way she abused the kids in a power play. I reported my mom of course it did nothing and many teachers and other staff that do terrible things to children and get caught have still been allowed to continue working as teachers whether they have to go to another school or another district or even another state. Unfortunately we had trusted the school for 2 years including summers at that point because that is what they recommended and we blindly trusted them. There were so many signs of abuse that we ignored and let them gaslight us on and some of them are regressions that have yet to return to where they happen to be before preschool. My special needs child was potty trained before they went into preschool They are 12 now and legitimately we still struggle more than we did before preschool. And it all started there at that school coinciding with signs of SA. I saw public as an opportunity to return to nursing and school myself to get a clinical psychology degree. I was NOT in a happy marriage at the time. We were on the brink of divorce and in poverty. My child was not yet the required school age. I didn't bring that up initially, I just unenrolled. We had harassment from the school about truancy for this...for weeks until I finally said our attorney could inform them of the legally required minimum age...(We didn't know of home-school yet, and many teachers even think home-school is illegal, or did at the time). They left us alone. We joined a Charter school which was mostly online, not great as it was more work for less positive outcomes. Casually chatting a teacher we trusted, I said "I'm not looking forward to puberty!" 😂 The teacher responded in serious tone "have you looked into puberty blockers? We could help you with a recommendation..." 😑 I told them not to give us medical advice. Then that school started to infringe more on us and our privacy. A new policy was to meet in home for the work turn in. (My child was special needs the work was one worksheet per term). The teacher cancelled the meeting and she picked a new day, told us the day before...I was sick (and the main one she would talk with since I'm the teacher). She insinuated I wasn't and said it's required or they would send authority over ...😮 My husband said "send them" lol She said she just meant it's required etc. Saw my child was good, saw I was sick. Apologized a lot and we thankfully had already been planning to homeschool so we told her then. She said a lot of students are leaving the CHARTER school to homeschool. No kidding. Doing research to educate my child from charter school forward, it's shocking how many lies are taught as facts. Especially in history and science. Deeply misleading. They have become even further from the truth in the past two decades. The forefathers we're mostly anti-Christian. We have had documentation for a while at the Library of Congress...about this. I could go on...but it's all about their agendas and clear it's been a long game. If not ineptitude. Teachers don't know they are carrying the torch for this but they are. Most good teachers are leaving the districts to help tutor homeschoolers, to raise their own kids etc. If you're an employee 40+ hours a week you're not raising your kids...someone else is. You're the fill in. It's sad but true. My grandmother and mother were this way. Even my nonna was the first to give her child over to public k-12 when it was a massive new idea for the general public. I don't think it's a coincidence my nonna was the most wise of the bunch, most grounded, and most ethical. For the rest of her life she struggled to have a good relationship with her children. The Chinese Communist party has been funding public schools here for a long while. In communistic countries they split apart families, and teach children their parents are not to be trusted. The state is what they should be loyal to. Etc. Look at what's happening today...

We had no issues until year 1 with my twins where expected to have no learning issues and they both were struggling and we found out they where dyslexic and the school didn’t want to know and help them!!! My oldest was getting by at the time but we found out by middle school he was dyslexic!!! Public school homework is way too much!!! My older kids hated learning and we knew it was school!!! Kids should be able to defend themselves!!!

Ugh that breaks my heart!

I’m not the most social person but I feel like I’m being led to homeschool but I worry that I’m not allowing them to have the socialization.

The homework load would have sent my middle kiddo into tears, too. He would have crumbled underneath it. My oldest & youngest, I think, would have been okay but. not loved it. But school would have completely ruined my middle kiddo.

Don’t ask me to give you my kids birthdays or ages 😂they all have over lapping numbers and it gets confusing 😅
