I remember being so excited for the Enhancement changes before TBC dropped. The only thing I didn't really like was the windfury weapon effect animation. It went from really cool (vanilla) to this ridiculous tornado thing (tbc) I also didn't like how they changed it to yellow damage and put a hidden 3 second cooldown on it
they did that because Shamans were out DPSing Rogues and Ghostcrawler hated Hybrid classes. So he got WF nerfed repeatedly throughout the xpac to make sure Rogues held top DPS spot.
But it's independent GCD for each weapon when DW in TBC. So you can proc wf on other weapon in between and if they both go off right after each other..baaam :-) Just make sure you run 2+ speed weapons when using wf.
I played enhancement on one of the more recent tbc blizz like servers. Once I got my blacksmithing weapons and enough expertise from the tier 5 gear I was doing around 2k dps on most boss fights. Once you start doing hyjal and black temple, the bosses have less armor and you do a lot more dps. Edit: Also I forgot to mention the dark moon trinket is a massive dps buff, you scale from both the ap and sp
@@Gipsydanger03 in classic, its a lottery. You can one-shot someone with a frostshock, aa, stormstrike, earthshock combo if you get lucky with wf. So it's fun when it happens. It's lame as fuck when it doesn't. Plus you're likely to be put as a defender cause you can't be sapped in spirit wolf, or you'll just be there to provide strength of earth and wf totem for your warriors. Btw weapon enchants outside of wf aren't viable in pvp in classic. Flametongue damage is too low and frostbite doesn't proc all the time (much like wf). I dont see much changing in TBC apart from your damage being more reliable due to 2 quicker weapons with wf. So you might get stronger in duels but apart from that, you still probably don't want to 1v1 a geared warrior, no matter how geared you are.
@@Gipsydanger03 I pvped on mine in TBC back in the day. With SS+WF and I used World Breaker (2h mace from SSC) I was able to 1 shot fully geared pvp rogues. But RNG was a pita so sometimes it didn't always go your way, when it did it was comical since this was the first xpac with pvp resilience gear. When I was dual wielding I couldn't get as much burst so I always Dual wield in pve and 2h for pvp.
Cannot wait. Enh Shaman has been my favorite class and spec since I swapped to it just before Wrath. It gets even better in Wrath when they add Water Shield for mana regen and Maelstrom Weapon for instant lightning bolt/chain lightnings between attacks Such a fun class with great personal sustain
You’ll still be totem twisting as Enh in TBC, your storm strike debuffs are reserved for the ele shaman in your raid and your primary job is to keep buffs up in your group. Nothing changes for Enh Shaman in TBC, a bit more involved maybe ...but you’re still just a buff bitch.
I dont get it Why people always in dg yell at me To put windfury totem i cant put strenght.. and anyone know the best combinaison for totem ? i just learned the game in frensh that's Why am stuck sometimes and it's new for me playing enhancement
btw in vanilla raid leaders who dont allow stormstrike are not informed, since it is instantly gone, due to rogues poison on offhand would consume nature dmg chargea
Not informed? Stormstrike negatively affects the boss by shifting wanted debuffs off for a low dps class like a enhance shamen. Which is why serious raids dont bother bringing them
Is there even going to be a melee group? The enhancement shaman would probably go into the group with the Hunters. The hunters get grace of air, and the shaman isn't losing dps by twisting. The melee can get a resto shaman for WF.
shamans had the 2handed weapon talent until half way into BC or something. it was still a talent for a long time. a lot of this is mid way through BC. shamanistic rage use to only give mana back
jungarn I actually meant for retail. Technically they can wield a 2hander, but none of their skills will work with it. Same with Frost Death knights until shadowlands.
They can still 2h in TBC, it's just move so Resto and Elemental can benefit from it without going deep Enhanc as there are some nice 2h maces with spell power etc. So no more sticking to just staff or 1h+shield.
tbc pretty much fixed everything that was wrong with shaman in classic. I main restro shaman but also played ele and enhance for a while and god damn is it annoying when 90% of your abillities are totems and your mana gain sucks ass. So Im actually extremly hyped for tbc.
Ehh, not really. Elem has too much hit, and bad scaling. Resto healing is dull, until riptide, and has mana issues. Totems are still annoying. Short range and 4 GCDs to drop all of them.
@@AnnoyingSwedishGuy starting fresh gives no sense whatsoever, the most probable scenario is that whole classic goes into tbc and players will be able to transfer their characters to pernament vanilla wow
@@AnnoyingSwedishGuy yeah but leveling is so chill now due to boosting i just lvld a mage to boost all my characters and it takes just a few days while chilling
@@jasonstimson6617 I know there is a cast sequence macro but you're dropping them all at once....If that is a macro it is incredibly overpowered can you please link. I will love you long time!
It has a 3s internal cooldown. Early on in TBC is was discovered the cooldown was unique to each rank of WF, so people starting using 2 different ranks. They nerfed that too, which led to WF mainhand, FT offhand.
Reckoning ret + enhancement duo arena: 6 seconds has passed....7 seconds has passed...... ROADOROLLAADAAH! *Reckoning* *Seal of command* *Windfury* *Stormstrike* *Judgement* *Earthshock* ........... 9 seconds has passed.
from what ive seen enhance seems to have a somewhat interesting rotation but ele is just your generic 1 maybe 2 button caster dps except it has some buffs
Play ele. Enhancer has shit gameplay. He's talking about the improvements for dps but nothing really changes about the fact that you're mostly a autoattack bot on totem twisting timers. I'm an enhancement main in classic. It's. So. Boring.
@@TheTheschuhschuh a lot of shit changes on tbc, Shamanistic Rage, Stormstrike has 10 second cooldown, Twisting fire nova totem, able to use fire shock and earthshock, etc...
just a heads up talking from my experience as an enhance main for the whole of the original tbc i wish you good luck getting geared in heroics as enhance when you are a dps without a real cc. since meta gaming seems to be the norm these days i would suggest learning to heal if you dont have a group of friends or a guild to play with. raiding is a lot easier but even getting your attunement to kara will be difficult unless you are prepared to heal the rogues and mages :) xxx
youre completely wrong about having trouble about getting a spot as enhance. People are gonna be melee regardless which means you always need an enhance lmao
they are good pve but they get absolutely destroyed in pvp. In pvp the thing they can do is try to burst down a target, if they aren't being targeted and or are on a team where other members of the team are CC'ing / stunning other players then this is where the enhance can shine as they just can pump on those stunned targets. But as a rogue player I will tell you they are one of my first things I lay eyes on to kill because they drop so easily.
It’s actually much better to intentionally NOT use your earth shock to consume storm strike debuff, leave it to your elemental shaman! 20% increase on a 2k lightning bolt is far better than 20% on a 800 earth shock!
But, the chances are high that TF or Rogue poison ticks it off for very low benefit. Much better to insta cast ES right after SS for at least getting one tick of 20% boost. Unless you really know how to time it with your Elemental buddy.
Karakoth Rogues won’t see much action in PvE min max untill they can get glavies if you’re in a min/max speed guild, TF consuming SS debuff charges will not be a thing forever as TF gets replaced.
As an enhancement shaman main in classic, I can tell you: This sounds fair, but(!) these buffs, while looking like a major improvement, don't change much about the gameplay. The gameplay in classic (and after a glance over the tbc talent tree there too) consisted of autoattacking, a bit of totem twisting, spamming a rank 1 earth shock for elemental devastation (a passive from the elemental tree) and NOTHING ELSE. They're good for the group but playing them. Sucks. Ass. It's not fun, unless you go into PvP and get a lucky oneshot with a quick Frostshock, AA, Stormstrike and Earthshock combo with windfury procs. That is not reliable. Even with more reliable dps later in tbc, the gameplay is boring. Trust me, your damage does not matter for your experience if the gameplay is boring. And it is. I am quitting classic after the next raid with my guild because the gameplay sucks. Unless you're a rogue, a warrior or a caster that isn't frost mage, there is zero variation in gameplay and the meta-driven minmaxing will usually rule out boomkins and ferals. Unless you're the one actively doing the damage, classic sucks. Even healing is way worse than in retail and I fucking despise healing in retail. Don't play classic unless you're planning on actively dealing damage. It's always warriors, rogues, warlocks and mages at the top. And there's nothing you can do about it, as long as those players aren't actually and literally mentally handicapped.
TBC Enhance is probably the best leveling spec and really beast in 5 mans. Boring in raids. Not good in PVP because you get kited endlessly. Resto is beyond insane in TBC, it's hard not to just be Resto. Wrath is probably where the dream is realized for Ele and Enhance. I wasn't able to play them after Wrath. One reason is because they multiply healthpools, nerfing their burst and toolkit essentially. The more time you put on the clock against Ele/Enh, the more defensives and gap closers they need, which they never really got until way later in the game and even to this day they prune their escape/gap closers/oh sh buttons/glyphs.
Sevatar Enh is certainly not the worst spec to bring in TBC raiding, maybe out of the shamans... but you still want at least one Enh Shaman and at most 1 Ele Shaman. Fury Warrior, all Rogues, Frost Mage and Marksmanship Hunters are worse than Enh Shamans as long as you got a full melee group to buff as Enh Shaman. TBC raiding is all about buff synergy, it’s not just Bloodlust/Heroism stacking!
@@zaooza34 Here's the thing though, you don't want more than 1 Elemental Shaman because you won't really have more than 1 full caster group that really benefits from the Ele Shaman totem. On the other hand you will have 2 physical dps groups (including tanks) who will benefit from Enh Shaman. So the choice really comes down to having 1 or 2 Enh Shamans, if you don't go with 2 Enh Shamans then you take another Resto Shaman- but it's really good to have 2 Enh. So while Enh technically is the weakest in it's own throughput it's arguably the best when it comes to buffing his/her party and raid.
Enhance/elem are only "good in tbc" when you compare them to shamans in vanilla. I mained a shaman for this entire xpac. 1 tricked it all the way. Saying that elem or enhance was "good" at any point in the xpac is BS. They were better than they were in vanilla. (which was a steaming pile) But if you try to compare them to any other class of the same role they are trash. Your group will like their SP and crit buff from ele, and your melee group MIGHT notice your WF totem/the attack power buff as enhanc. And of course, everyone likes BL/hero. But are YOU as a shaman good? No.. no you are not. Telling people different is legit just blowing smoke up their asses and being disingenuous. Boys.. Pick shaman if you are ok with being a stack stick that still gets your ass kicked by world quest mobs. Otherwise I'd think about something else.
Only use flametongue on your OH if it has a faster attack speed than your MH. By the time you're doing content both of your weapons should have similarly slow attack speeds (somewhere around 2.7-2.9) so both should have WF.
Ehh good? Says who? You will struggle to find an arena team and raid spot and get stomped by pretty much every class 1vs1. Elemental was very strong 1vs1 besides vs warlock. not really any good comps outside of 5vs5 for ele. And maybe one decent 3s for enhance. If you want to be melee roll a warr or rogue.
They wanted totem twisting ones, which most players flat out refused. It was a requirement in my guild to do it so I was one of the only Enh shamans on the raid team. Our other enh shaman couldn't totem twist as well and so he got sat a lot unless it was a farm night and I didn't need gear.
@@phoivos Totem twisting provides WF and Agi totems at the same time. the way totems works is it's a 10 sec buff that pulses from the totem. So you can switch them every 9 sec to get both buffs.
